Police charged Maria Elise Carrington with DUI and vehicular assault.
According to police, Elise was driving with the 7-year-old girl in the car on Friday night when she collided with a bus at New Providence and Plum Street in Clarksville. No one on the bus was injured but the young girl was taken to Vanderbilt with a broken arm.
Carrington allegedly had a strong smell of alcohol coming from her and told police she had been drinking beer.
