“We expect him to die in prison,” Assistant District Attorney Doug Breault said.
Bailey, 50, admitted to having sex with a 15-year-old girl, who became pregnant and gave birth.
It was early 2008, and the special education student was at a duplex with Bailey, who knew her family. Some time later she would go to a doctor for some shots and discover that she was pregnant.
“And that’s when the mother called police,” Breault said. “He had got her pregnant. She had the baby and ended up going into a coma because of a heart problem she had.”
The girl has since recovered, Breault said.
Bailey faced 10 to 30 years or life in prison, because this was his second offense. Breault said Bailey was convicted in Columbus in 1989 of touching a 9-year-old girl.
