A Vernon Parish sheriff's deputy who allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl several times in Slidell has been booked with multiple sex crimes, authorities said Friday.


Deputy Mason Dixon, 31, of Leesville, was booked with seven counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and four counts of oral sexual battery, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman George Bonnett said.

Investigators believe Dixon was involved in several incidents with the girl between September and January, while he was in St. Tammany Parish for National Guard training, Bonnett said. The girl's mother reported the incidents to the Sheriff's Office on Monday, he said.


Vernon Parish authorities cooperated with the investigation, and Dixon was taken into custody there on Wednesday, Bonnett said. He is being held in the St. Tammany Parish jail in Covington in lieu of a $375,000 bond.


Dixon is being held in isolation for his protection, Bonnett said.

How redneck are his parents to name him Mason Dixon?
