Scottsdale police say an officer first saw Richardson, 28, driving 67 mph in a 40 mph zone Sunday night and followed him.

That's when the officer clocked him at 90 mph in a 35 mph zone and pulled him over.

Police say Richardson admitted to speeding and identified himself as a Suns player. The officer saw Richardson's son in the back seat of the car and that he was not in a child seat.

Richardson said he had taken his son to dinner and was on his way home.

He was arrested and booked on charges of reckless driving, excessive speeding and failure to use a child seat. He was released from jail after a few hours.

I don't care if your the President of the U.S. always have your child in a proper safety car child seat.

People don't get that the precious cargo they carry can be gone in an instant by many things beyond our control. At the very least, those your cherish, if indeed you do, treat them like the treasures they are.

My sons will be in a car seat for as long as I can keep him there... I would never forgive myself if they died from not being properly restrained by the simple use of a car seat.
Even then I double check the harness to make sure it is safe and secure.

Come on people, its a no brainer. Be happy and safe little one.

I have to admit I have been out of the loop lately- this is the first I have heard of this incident. Sure seems like they made it breaking news that there were photos of a swimmer and a bong!!! I think child endangerment is more shocking and more deserving of public outrage. And not to take away from the fact the child wasnt properly restrained- he was driving 55mph over the speed limit?!? WTF what about endangering the lives of others???
