We will be running our regular program on Sunday at 3pm. Once again this has been a very busy week in the case of finding Haleigh Cummings. While Law Enforcement have been adamant that the search for missing Haleigh and the drug charges against bio father Ronald Cummings, and ex GF/baby sitter/lover/wife Misty Croslin are two very different cases, you would have to be wearing some really dark glasses to miss the fact that the two investigations dovetail.

Our panel tomorrow is going to be Simon and Jan Barrett, the news and programming director for WSKY 97.3 TJ hart, and the Crime Doctor Denny Griffin. I do have an email into Levi Page, and if he is available I assume he will be joining us.

There was a great deal of new video released this week. Once again TJ and I have been up to our ears in them. We are still trying to get them into a usable format. We don’t have the might of CNN behind us, so these things take a little time.

One thing is clear though, what we had always assumed as a three ring circus is indeed that. The Croslin/Cummings/Sheffield circus.

Each family seems to be out doing the next in Dumbness. None of them seem to have any redeeming features.

Hi momma,,,IMO,,I think the rose is a red herring,,,just a distraction. I am quite sure Mousy knows exactly what happened to HaLeigh. I think she is a cold-hearted bitch that is all about herself ~ always. If she didn't have anything to do with it or have any knowledge about what happened, I know she would have let Lenny bail her out in a heartbeat. Her refusal to co-operate w/ him to get herself out speaks volumes to me.

Tommy and Ronald are afraid Misty is going to tell what he and Ronald did to the mexican dude in Crescent City that Misty and NayNay partied with the weekend before Haleigh went missing. Did Misty lie and claim rape and the two went to avenge her so-called "honor" (and steal some drugs in the process of course)?? On Mustardseed Brain's lost weekend,,the one right before HaLeigh disappears, it was said that Nay-Nay, her, White Boy Greg and Nay-nay's friend (can't remember her name) went to a house,,where the friend, a hooker had sex with a group of Hispanic (can't remember if they were Mexican or not) men, got some money and gave it to Nay-Nay. Supposedly Mushy & Nay-Nay & WBG just were inside waiting for her. Bit IMO, that story always sounded a little funny to me,,the friend was going to do all the work, have sex w/ many men and then just hand over some of her "hard earned" money to Nay-Nay. Of course, anything is possible but I'm sure there is much more to the story that hasn't come out yet.

Leonard Padilla actually said tonight on Levi Page’s show, in response to my question what would be better for Misty legally, that she should listen to her lawyer–because anything she gave Padilla would be worthless in bargaining for a lesser sentence in her related cases, where if she knew anything that could help cops solve the Haleigh case, it could give her lawyer leverage to cut her a deal.

Feds are involved, on call if not on the ground. Oh, and your question is not at all stupid…gators are there and that’s certainly possible. There is an unconfirmed rumor a gator with a swollen belly was in the yard of Ronald’s aunt, but no one called LE. Misty told my sources she just didn’t feel like babysitting after a three day binge of sex, booze and drugs — described to me as a revenge romance to get even with Ronald for trying to abort the child he feared she might be carrying from another man by squeezing her into a ball, tight, then booting her from the trailer. Hundreds of dollars and pills change hands between Misty Croslin and Ronald Cummings and an undercover officer on surveillance tapes released by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
But, amid what officers allege is drug trafficking, Cummings, 26, and Croslin, 18, open up to the unidentified officer about their life in Putnam County since Cummings' daughter Haleigh vanished last February. At the time, Croslin was babysitting the girl and her younger brother at their father's Satsuma home.

Released by the Sheriff's Office last week, the recordings are part of the case against the two, as well as against Croslin's brother Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr., 23, of Satsuma; her friend Donna Brock, 44, of Orlando, and Cummings' cousin Hope A. Sykes, 18, of Satsuma. All are facing charges of trafficking in prescription medications following their January arrests.

The eight recordings date from Dec. 22 through Jan. 20 when officers arrested the five. Croslin appears in all, apparently acting as a go-between and helping organize exchanges, collecting cash or getting the pills. Also in each is the officer, his face obscured, who drives the van where all of the recordings are made with Croslin, Cummings and others riding as passengers.
On the Jan. 8 recording, Croslin tells the driver and Brock that doing this makes her nervous. Later she says she got three teeth pulled in a week. As the driver commiserates, she explains she didn't have to pay for the dental work and a prescription that was put in another person's name. In the back seat, Brock can be seen taking out a bottle, putting something in a bag and pushing it forward toward the front-seat occupants.

Padilla said that someone saw Joe standing in the doorway in the back with the child. Joe called his girlfriend Jennifer and told her he had to go to Antioch, Tennessee. Haleigh and her father Ronald Cummings.

Haleigh Cummings missing for 1 year.The mysterious disappearance of Haleigh Cummings has captivated the nation with its twists and turns over the last year. 5-year-old Haleigh, a beautiful blond haired vivacious little girl, vanished from her mobile home in Satsuma Florida last year. Police say that there is no evidence of forced entry into the home, they have ruled out a stranger abduction, and they say that Haleigh's babysitter holds they key to this mystery.

Croslin, the teenage girlfriend of Haleigh's father Ronald, (who is 8 years older than Croslin), says she tucked Haleigh into bed and awoke in the early morning hours of February 10th to find the child missing.

Croslin who was 17-years-old at the time of the disappearance has became the subject of intense nation wide suspicion, especially on HLN's prime time crime show "Nancy Grace." Grace, the former prosecutor who hosts the show has cast doubt on Croslin's story, agreeing with police that her story doesn't add up.

On her latest show Grace covered the drug bust that landed Croslin, and Haleigh's father behind bars after an undercover police officer captured them on video trafficking oxycontin and hydrocodone. Grace also reported on new jailhouse videos released of Croslin, speaking with her family from behind bars. On the show Grace lambasted Croslin for being "self-absorbed to the max", for being concerned only about herself, and for whining.

It was obvious from the genesis of the case that Croslin's story did not add up, after giving multiple versions of what happened that night to the media and police. For instance, Croslin said she did not notice Haleigh was missing until she got up to use the bathroom, then she changed her story and said she was getting a drink of water when she noticed the child was not in her bed. Croslin also waited 25 mins before calling the police, waiting until Haleigh's father arrived home from working the night shift at a bridge building company.

It is also hard to imagine an intruder coming into the home without waking up Croslin, or Haleigh's little brother. In one of Croslin's versions she said Haleigh was in the same bed, then she retracted that and said she was still in the same room, but on another bed 3 feet away from her. Either scenario you would think an intruder coming into the room, and taking a child would be risky with three people in the room. Wouldn't a 5-year-old girl cry? Even if it was someone she knew, wouldn't she speak? How did Croslin sleep through the abduction?

Was Croslin even home that night? In a recent press release the Putnam County Sheriff's Office asked the public for any information they had on Croslin's whereabouts the night Haleigh vanished and the early morning hours before Ronald arrived home from work.

Regardless if Croslin was home, or at a party doing drugs as some have speculated, common sense would dictate that she is involved in Haleigh's disappearance. Croslin has failed a polygraph that Texas Equusearch, a volunteer search group had administered to her. The results showed she was 95% deceptive. Reports also indicate she failed a law enforcement polygraph, those reports contradict earlier statements both Ronald Cummings and Croslin made when they stated they both passed "with flying colors." In addition to failing polygraph's a hypnosis revealed she was hiding something and a layered voice analysis administered by top-notch private investigator T.J. Ward revealed she was deceptive.

Now lets take a closer look and examine Ronald Cummings, who married Croslin after it was obvious she was somehow involved in his 5-year-old daughters disappearance. Cummings married Croslin less than a month after his child vanished from the mobile home, while under the care of his teenage girlfriend. A teenage girlfriend who had just gotten home after a weekend of alcohol, drugs and sex.

The 911 Call:

Says he will kill whoever abducted his daughter.

- But if he wanted to find his daughter so bad, why did he hang up the phone on the 911 operator, but yet threaten to call 911 after Geraldo Rivera asks him tough questions?

- He even tells Croslin to "hang up the f****** phone, we got better people to talk to." Why not cooperate with the operator who is trying to get crucial information and assist you in finding your missing child?

Ronald's Strange Relationship with Misty:

During an interview with Greta Van Susteren on the Fox News Channel, when Greta was questioning both Cummings and Croslin, Cummings covered his microphone and whispered something to Croslin such as "look at the camera."

- Why is he worried about that? In NBC Today Show interview he looks away from the camera when asked to give a plea to whoever may have Haleigh.

- During the same interview with Fox News, he says that both he and Croslin passed their polygraphs. It was later revealed that she failed that polygraph. Why would he state she passed if he did not know? Should we also doubt the fact that Ronald passed his polygraph as well?

-Cummings also reveals that the beds where Croslin and the two children sleep in, where made up and it appeared as if nobody went to bed. Yet he continued to defend Misty, despite the fact that she obviously lied about putting Haleigh to bed.

In an NBC Today interview, Ronald is asked about what he thinks happened the night Haleigh vanished.

- He acts odd, his shoulders go up and he nonchalantly says that he doesn't know, and he puts an emphasis on the fact that he was at work. It seemed as if he was annoyed and tired of answering that question. He was not acting as if he was concerned about his missing daughter.

- In the same interview he was asked about a statement that his son made, that a man with squeaky shoes abducted Haleigh. He immediately does his infamous shrug, says its "garbage" and then resorts back to the "I was at work" answer and backtracks saying he doesn't know for sure if it is true. Again not concerned about whether it could be true.

- Also in the interview he again brings up the polygraph saying they both passed, defending Misty for walking out of a meeting with the police, where the police accused her of lying. Why the defense of Misty?


The Marriage:

Why marry a teenager, who you've only known for 4 months while your daughter has been missing only a little over a month?

He complained to NBC's "Today" host Meredith Vieira that the attention was on his wedding, and he wanted it back on Haleigh.

- Yet he is the one who choose to get married in the midst of the investigation.

- He even allowed NBC News to film his wedding and film him celebrating while his daughter was missing.

- When asked about the timing he said it was "nobodys business" but yet he let NBC film it and gave Exclusive rights to the Today Show. Was he paid for his "exclusive"?



Ongoing association after divorce:

Cummings and Croslin were both involved in a road rage incident with a man by the name of Charles Jones in late December, 2 months after their divorce. Croslin had been staying with Jones after she divorced Ronald.

Croslin had told Jones that a black male approached Cummings at a gas station and that the black male said he would get Haleigh back for Ronald.

- Jones says what tipped off the road rage incident is the fact that Misty could have told him too much information and Cummings was trying to intimidate him.

- Jones alleges that Cummings pulled a gun on him and tried to run him off the road.

Both Cummings and Croslin were busted selling drugs to an undercover cop in late January.

- Instead of searching for his daughter, or raising money for a search, or trying to spread information about her to help find her, he is dealing drugs with his ex wife who police say holds the key to the case.



Ronald's inconsistencies:

Misty says in an interview on NBC's Today, that the night Haleigh went missing that she called Ronald on his cell phone right before he pulled in the driveway to tell him about Haleigh vanishing.

- But Ronald tells police that he was "shocked" that she was still up when he got home, because they are usually in bed. As if he was wondering why she was up.

- Why would he be "shocked" if Misty had called him before he got home? He would have already known why she was up if she had called.

- Ronald even confirmed Misty's story in that same interview on the Today Show.

Ronald wants us to believe that he wants to find his child, and that he will kill whoever abducted her.

- But in an interview with HLN's Nancy Grace, when he was asked about why Misty choose to not go to the bathroom closest to where she was sleeping, but go to one in the hallway. (Because of her story that she got up to use the bathroom the night Haleigh vanished) He said he did not know, and he had not asked Misty about it.

- Why not? If he wanted to find his daughter so bad?

The only time he shows emotion is when the media first arrives on the scene and on the 911 call. But then all the emotion about his missing daughter disappears and he suddenly has a nonchalant attitude.

- The only time he gets emotional is not about the fact that his daughter is missing, but when he learns that his ex girlfriend and the mother of Haleigh could be mounting a custody battle with him. He seems more concerned about himself, and protecting his reputation instead of finding Haleigh.

In an interview on HLN's Nancy Grace he lambasted the mother of Haleigh, saying during their custody fight for Haleigh that she "lawyered up."

- But yet he hires a CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY Terry Shoemaker to represent him, after both he and Misty stated that lawyers were "for guilty people."

Also in an interview with HLN's Nancy Grace when asked about the theory of whether Misty had not been at the mobile home the night Haleigh vanished was true, he says that it has been disproved.

- But on the 1-year-anniversary of Haleigh's disappearance the police ask the public for any information about Misty's whereabouts that night and in the early morning hours.

- If it has been disproved why would police ask the public for information about where she had been? Why would Ronald lie about that? Why defend Misty?

In an interview with Nancy Grace, after he divorced Croslin in October, she introduced Ronald as someone not afraid to answer questions.

- But Ronald said his reasoning for divorcing Croslin was because he and Croslin couldn't go anywhere without "being questioned." Which is it? is he afraid of answering questions or not?

- Grace also said in her introduction to Cummings that he was not afraid of the limelight, but yet he also says he divorced Croslin because people were "staring at them."

Grace tried her best to get Cummings to admit during the interview that the reason he divorced Cummings was because he suspected her of his daughters disappearance.

- But Cummings refused to take the bait. Could it be that if he admits her guilt, he is afraid Misty could spill the beans about his possible involvement?



Ronald Cummings Compared to Casey Anthony:

After her daughter Caylee went missing, Casey Anthony got a tattoo. Casey is charged with her daughters murder and is facing the death penalty.

- Ronald Cummings got a tattoo after Haleigh went missing as well.

Ronald proposed to Misty Croslin and made out with her in public while his daughter was missing.

- Photos of Casey Anthony emerged of her making out with another while while her daughter was missing.

It was the usual interesting 90 minutes. And I think it would be fair to say that tempers were getting frayed at times. A year is a long time to follow any story and I think it would be fair to say that everyone is suffering a level of frustration. One of the aspects of is this case is there are there are periods of intense activity interspersed with periods of silence. Hopes were high that after the drug bust of Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin, Ronald Cummings, et al it would result in a quick resolution to the question of where Haleigh Cummings is. That has not happened, and to make matters worse it appears that the PCSO have entered another of their periods of almost hibernation. Very little information has tricked out from them for a couple of weeks.

There are some interesting rumors doing the rounds however we have not been able to confirm or discredit them.

The panel consisted of Simon and Jan Barrett, News and Programming Director for WSKY 97.3 TJ Hart, and author and crime writer Denny Griffin.

The major players have gone silent, and indeed LE seems to have become somewhat hushed on the subject. But it has still been a busy week in the search for Haleigh Cummings. Quiet is something that we have learned to live with when dealing with the PCSO. They tend to talk to us when they want something. And that is fine, we are happy to help in any way we can.

I also have a pet theory that that they go quiet to see what trees the press can shake and what rotten fruit they can find.

There were two subjects broached in the program, but as we have no proof, so you will have to just wait for that information.

I am pretty certain that by Tuesday there will be a resolution to the idiotic charges against one man that got himself involved in the case. I am also in the middle of obtaining some depositions that might shed a great deal of light on the case against him.

A phone call or three today also begs the question of where is Marie Griffis? That she should take a vacation is not news. But what might be news are the items she took with her. Again, this is all second and third hand information.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- More jailhouse video of Misty Cummings' phone conversations with her mother were released Thursday.

Cummings, the last person to see missing 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings more than one year ago, is being held in the St. Johns County Jail on drug charges carrying a $1.35 million bond.

In the video, Cummings said she thinks about Haleigh all the time.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office tells Action News the five were arrested following a month-long undercover operation. Investigators say on seven separate occasions, they purchased the prescription drugs Oxycodone and Hydrocodone from the Croslins, Cummings, Sykes and Broch. ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- In newly-released, recorded jail house conversations, Misty Cummings gets defensive about Haleigh's disappearance.

"People are saying I don't think about Haleigh, you can ask everyone in this cell block right here, right now. Everybody in this block knows I think about her all the time and I talk about her all the time."

Misty was discussing the little girl with her mother. The recording was from last month, right after the one-year anniversary of Haleigh's disappearance. Misty was the last person to see the girl alive.

During her jail house conversation, Misty asked her mom about the vigil for Haleigh.

"I cried all the time, prayed all the time about Haleigh," Misty told her mom.

She also talked about the bounty hunter who offered to pay her bail to get Misty out of jail.

"If I could get out, yeah I would love to get out, of course." Then Misty said she wouldn't give the bounty hunter any information.

Misty will go before a judge later this month for her drug trafficking charges.

Misty Croslin was captured on new jail interview videos discussing the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings with her mother.

During the conversation, Croslin insisted she had nothing to do with the disappearance of her former stepdaughter.

On the tapes, Croslin asked her mother if she had read the latest headlines about the case in the newspaper.
* Croslin: You read the paper today?
* Mother: No. I just got up and come out here.
* Croslin: The people that are involved, that the cops think that's involved, is locked up.

Croslin also referred to a vigil held for Haleigh on the one-year anniversary of her disappearance. Both she and Ronald Cummings were in jail at the time. However, Croslin's mother attended the vigil.

* Croslin: Theresa read a letter that Ronald wrote?
* Mother: Yes. She read it.
* Croslin: Was it good?
* Mother: Yes. It was good. It said make sure Haleigh knows she'll always be his baby girl. It was really good.

5-year-old Haleigh Cummings mysteriously vanished from her mobile home in February of 2009, while under the care of her teenage babysitter Misty Croslin. Croslin was the live in girlfriend of Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's father. An Amber Alert was issued after Ronald Cummings came home from work at 3 am to discover his daughter missing.

There have been many twists and turns in this case. A year has gone by and sadly there have been no answers in the desperate search for Haleigh. Hope was revived when an undercover sting operation landed Croslin, Cummings and three others behind bars after being caught on tape trafficking prescription medication. Will this drug bust lead to answers in the investigation into Haleigh's case?

Croslin came under fire after police issued a statement saying her version of events the night Haleigh vanished were inconsistent with physical evidence obtained at the trailer where Haleigh vanished. Police also said that her story does not add up and that she holds the key to this case. As of today, Croslin has yet to crack.

Before the arrest Croslin had been the main focus of police, the media and the public after it was revealed that the beds both she and Haleigh were sleeping in, were made up. It was also revealed Croslin failed both a police polygraph, a polygraph administered by Texas Equusearch, a layered voice analysis and a hypnosis.

This case has captivated the nation and if a book were to be written about the case, it would read like a soap opera. Before Haleigh went missing Croslin was allegedly involved in a alcohol, drug and sex binge with Gregg Page, a scum bag known for being part of the criminal element there in Satsuma Florida. She was involved in a road rage incident on the interstate in Orlando Florida, and after being married to Cummings for 7 months, they suddenly divorced.

According to my sources the divorce occurred after Croslin and Cummings got into a fight, where Cummings attacked Croslin and pushed her through a closet door. That was the final straw for Croslin, after the incident she befriended and went to live with the family of Charles Jones.

Weeks after his daughter vanished Cummings was seen at a tattoo parlor getting a tattoo (paid for with donations intended to help find Haleigh). While at the parlor witnesses told local media Cummings didn't have much to say about his missing daughter, but instead he was bragging about all the money people were sending him.

In this article I want to focus on the violent behavior of Ronald Cummings, in my opinion Cummings is like TNT, an explosion waiting to happen. Could Ronald have lost his temper and physically abused Haleigh? Did the ticking time bomb finally explode and cause the demise of little Haleigh?

A month after Haleigh went missing, Croslin and Cummings got married, but it wasn't happily ever after. After the marriage, Cummings engaged in a fued with his inlaws where he decapitated a rat and put the headless rat in his brother in laws mailbox. This act was witnessed by a neighbor. Cummings was also arrested for attacking Misty's brother, her brother tried to get into a vehicle to escape the wrath of Cummings, but Cummings got into the vehicle and continued the violent attack.

During the Holidays Cummings certainly wasn't in a cheerful mood, understandable given the fact that his daughter was missing, but he wasn't concerned about his missing daughter. Instead he was angry with the man that took his ex wife in after he divorced her. So angry he allegedly pulled a gun on him and tried to run him off the road.

In late December Charles Jones called 911 telling the 911 operator that Ronald Cummings had pulled a gun on him, threatened to kill him, and was trying to run him off the road. What was Cummings's motive? Misty had been living with Charles and his family, after her divorce from Ronald. Jones feels that Croslin told him too much information and that Ronald Cummings was trying to intimidate him.

Additionally, Jones also alleges that when his brother got his truck stuck in sand, that Cummings helped him get it out and then demanded to be paid twenty dollars, after his brother refused to give Cummings money, Cummings allegedly took out a gun and shot into the sand three times and then drove off.

Viewers of Fox News Channel's "At Large with Geraldo Rivera" witnessed Cummings temper after Geraldo Rivera asked Cummings a series of tough questions concerning his drug use and alleged abuse of his ex girlfriend Crystal Sheffield as well as Haleigh. Cummings became angry and told Rivera to get out of his face. Cummings became so angry his family had to step in and make Rivera leave.

In that interview with Rivera, Cummings claimed to discipline Haleigh the way "DCF allows." Wait a minute, is that a normal response from a parent when confronted with allegations of child abuse? That they only discipline the way social servinces allow? Cummings made it sound like he had a conversations with DCF or he had been told how to discipline a child without crossing the line into child abuse by someone from DCF. How many non abusive parents have conversations with DCF on how to discipline children? Most people don't even need to know DCF guidelines on disciplining children.

The mother of Haleigh and ex girlfriend of Cummings has also alleged that Cummings was abusive to her and the two children she shared with him.

Was Ronald abusive? The question remains a mystery but it is a question worth asking. Did Ronald Cummings temper lead to Haleigh's death? That is also a mystery, but it's a thought worth pondering. In the next article I'll explore the possibility of how drugs could play a role in this case.

One thing is certain: A propensity towards violence, a quick temper and drug use is TNT and the equation is deadly.

We will be running our regular look back at the events of the past seven days in both the Haleigh Cummings and Caylee Anthony cases.

Our panel this week will be Simon and Jan Barrett, News and Programming Director for WSKY 97.3 TJ Hart, and crime writer Denny Griffin.

Law Enforcement have once again closed down their flow of information, this is something that seems to happen from time to time. Often in the past it has signaled that something is about to happen.

I had hoped to be able to bring some news to the table this week, however I am waiting on some clearance to move forward with it. I have a couple of documents just burning a hole in my hard drive!

Oh, and here is a little piece of trivia for you concerning William Cobra Staubs. Did you know that his attorney Donald Holmes and the Assistant State Attorney Joeseph Boatwright (prosecutor) used to work together? Rumor on the street is that they are friends! Boy that makes for an interesting situation. Do I hear ‘Kangaroo Court’ in the air?

More tapes were released late Thursday, unfortunately we have yet to get our hands on them. But hopefully we will have copies on Monday. We just need to find a willing soul to pick them up in St Augustine and upload the contents to us.

We have seen some snippets care of one of the local TV stations and I doubt that they contain any BOMBSHELLS, it appears that even the Croslin’s and Cummings have finally figured out that their visits and phone calls are being recorded.

Recovered Audio Could Provide Some Insight into Haleigh Case

Private investigator William "Cobra" Staubs recorded an interview with a woman in May of 2009 and sent WSKY the audio a short time afterward. In the audio, the woman make all kinds of allegations regarding drugs, Misty and Nay Nay Prevatt.

Prevatt became a little bit better known in the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings following a letter she sent to her boyfriend while she was in jail on separate drug charges last summer . Prevatt stated in the letter that investigators quizzed her about Haleigh in regards to an alleged signed affidavit by a man named Joe Pytko who claimed the child ate some "roxies" while at a party with Misty and died. He allegedly added in his "affidavit" that Haleigh's body was put in a bag and was dumped in a pond. A pond at the Mondex near Palatka was drained around the time the letter was made public by WSKY.

WSKY forwarded these recordings to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office last year and asked if these sound files might have anything to do with the investiagtion into Haleigh Cummings. To this day, WSKY has not received and answer to that question.

Whether or not this interview will help investigators find Haleigh or her possible abductor(s), the discussions do give a possible insight to the lifestyle of Misty Crosin and Nay Nay Prevatt at the time.

Newly released jailhouse tapes gives us some insight into what Misty Croslin, the last person to see 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings alive, knows about the night the little girl disappeared.

In a phone call to her sister-in-law Lindsey Croslin, Misty Croslin is cryptically talking about a California bounty hunter who has offered to bail her out in exchange for information that will lead him to Haleigh. Here is the portion of the conversation:

Sister-in-law: So what, you have things you need to talk to him about?
Misty Croslin: Well yeah, I mean, it’s you know, hard to talk.
Sister-in-law: I know.
Misty Croslin: Yeah. But it’s gonna hurt two people. It’s gonna hurt two people.
Sister-in-law: That we care about?
Misty Croslin: Kinda. One, yeah. And the other, kinda.
Sister-in-law: That I care about?
Misty Croslin: Yeah.
Sister-in-law: Cause I know I don’t give a f*** about Ronal, excuse my language.

In a separate recorded conversation with her mother, Misty Croslin says that detectives have questioned her but she told everything she knows through her lawyer, Robert Fields. She also mentions that Fields is “comfortable”. What that means remains unclear.

SATSUMA, Fla. -- Putnam County deputies and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are searching the St. Johns River south of Satsuma Tuesday morning, and authorities confirm the search is connected to the Haleigh Cummings investigation.

Lt. Johnny Greenwood said the search was prompted by one of the thousands of leads received by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office since the 5-year-old girl disappeared from her bed in her father's mobile home 14 months ago.

The sheriff's office was not releasing the exact location of the search effort in an attempt to prevent congestion from onlookers. Channel 4 learned that the search area is within 5 miles of where Haleigh disappeared in February 2008.

"Although various resources are being utilized to conduct this search, it is just one of many operations conducted during this investigation," Greenwood said in a media release Tuesday morning. "Due to the sensitivity of this investigation, the name of the person providing the tip and the physical evidence alleged to be in this area, will not be released."

Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, and former stepmother, Misty, remain in jail facing drug trafficking charges that authorities say are unrelated to Haleigh's disappearance.

I received a tip about 30 minutes ago that might indicate the search for Haleigh Cummings may be entering into a new phase. Some discoveries were made last night and as we go to press police divers are about to go into action.

I have agreed not to divulge the exact location, however I am sure that it will be revealed later today.

Could this be the finish line in the 14 moth old search for Haleigh Cummings?

A source very close to the case has agreed to talk with me on the condition of anonymity and that I would not release details at this stage for fear of compromising the criminal investigation.

I am sorry this article is so cryptic, I will add more details as they are released.

UPDATE: This just in from PCSO.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous requests for information regarding the Haleigh Cummings investigation, and a search currently being conducted by the Sheriff’s Office.

A search is currently being conducted as the result of one of the many leads received thus far in this case. The area being searched is in the Satsuma area of Putnam County. The exact location is not being released at this time in an attempt to prevent unnecessary congestion from onlookers. Although various resources are being utilized to conduct this search, it is just one of many operations conducted during this investigation. Due to the sensitivity of this investigation, the name of the person providing the tip and the physical evidence alleged to be in this area, will not be released.

Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will not be participating in any formal interviews or providing statements regarding today’s search. Future releases will be provided if warranted.

News4Jax.com is reporting that a section of the river south of Satsuma is being searched because of a tip.

New Search for Haleigh Cummings Under Way, Centered Near Satsuma

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The search for Haleigh Cummings, on going for more than a year, is focusing once again on areas near her father's hometown of Satsuma.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said this morning that authorities are acting on a tip, but kept details of the search close to the vest.

The search is focused along the river between Welaka and Satsuma near County Road 309.

It is an area that was searched about a year ago.

Several law enforcement boats have been scouring the river near the boat ramp at the end of Shell Harbor Road, which is blocked off by deputies.

Deputies are also going door to door talking to neighbors along that road.

The nature of the tip, the type of search being conducted and the specific location are being withheld because of the sensitive nature of the investigation, said Putnam Lt. Johnny Greenwood.

There will be no statements issued unless warranted, he said.

Haleigh Cummings was last seen in her father Ronald's home in February 2009. Ronald's then-girlfriend Misty Croslin, now his ex-wife, said she put Haleigh to bed that night, and that was the last anyone saw of her.

After extensive interviews with many people involved in Haleigh's life, detectives have said Croslin knows more than she's saying, but is not a suspect.

Minor called the search effort "massive," and included deputies from Putnam, Clay and Marion counties, as well as the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. He said cadaver dogs were also brought to the scene.

The PCSO statement that was sent out this morning is actually quite an interesting one. A statement prompted by BNN’s first article. There is one part in particular that is very noteworthy.

Due to the sensitivity of this investigation, the name of the person providing the tip and the physical evidence alleged to be in this area, will not be released.

I spoke to the tipster earlier today. And I can say he was very surprised when I introduced myself. The PCSO want to keep his identity out of the press for the time being, and I can certainly understand why. The ensuing feeding frenzy would put a bunch of starving sharks to shame! I for one have been pondering the significance of this persons identity all morning and it leads to a very intriguing possible chain of events that does tie directly to one of the folks currently experiencing the hospitality of the Florida jail system.

A discovery was made at around 9pm last night, and although the person opted not to share the details, it does seem that some form of physical evidence was found. The tipster has agreed to talk with me later. I will say this, this was no random find by a random person.

I have also been asked not to reveal the exact location of the search, but it does involve a boat ramp on the St. Johns river that is not very far from where Haleigh Cummings disappeared from. The PCSO do have the area cordoned off from prying eyes. But how long they will be able to keep the location under wraps can be measured in minutes.

However, the public information officer for St. Johns County Office confirmed that Croslin remains in custody.

There will be no statements issued unless warranted, he said.

Haleigh Cummings was last seen in her father Ronald's home in February 2009. Ronald's then-girlfriend Misty Croslin, now his ex-wife, said she put Haleigh to bed that night, and that was the last anyone saw of her.

After extensive interviews with many people involved in Haleigh's life, detectives have said Croslin knows more than she's saying, but is not a suspect.

Reiterated that they will be there well into the night maybe tomorrow. Authorities also declined to answer whether or not Haleigh’s case would be now be classified as a homicide instead of a missing child.

According to reports, the Cummings family met with police for about two hours this morning and were visibly upset when they left. Reports also indicate that Misty Croslin has been transferred to another jail.

My take on Ron was that he wasn't completely forthcoming because he was hiding something himself (like initially I thought about the gun issue). Then I thought he married Misty in a way to control her from talking... then I thought about Misty's restraining order on her brother which was related to Ron and him getting into it and I thought, this is it, if misty's brother had anything to do with it, she'd be telling it, so I eliminated him. The good news about Nadia Bloom was the top story on most 6 p.m. newscasts. But WOFL-Channel 35 focused on a possible break in the saga of missing Haleigh Cummings.

“Sources close to the investigation tell me that they have a person in custody,” WOFL’s Kelly Joyce said from Putnam County. “That person told them that they could find Haleigh’s body at the bottom of the St. Johns River here today, and I’m told they found something, but the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office isn’t saying what they found.”

WESH-Channel 2 relayed images of the St. Johns search via its new HD chopper.

WESH’s Gail Paschall-Brown reported that Putnam County officials said the area hadn’t been searched before. She also recounted the case: Haleigh was 5 when she disappeared in February last year.

In the WESH report, an unidentified authority could be heard saying that detectives had private discussions with the family today.

Misty Croslin, who was the last person to see Haleigh, was taken out of jail for more questioning today, Paschall-Brown reported. Croslin later married and divorced Haleigh’s father, Ron. Both are being held on drug-trafficking charges.

Joe Overstreet lives in Antioch, TN and went to Putnam County in Jan 09 to visit with the Croslin’s. He is Misty Croslin's cousin on the maternal side of the family. He is approximately 20 y.o. Misty said Joe came to the trailer the day HaLeigh disappeared and during the time he was in Satsuma, he got into arguments with Ronald about guns. When Ron was asked if it was true there was an argument with Joe, Ron said no. LE confirmed Joe was at Ron's trailer Monday, Feb 09. but didn't state the exact time of his visit. Joe was staying with Timmy and Chelsea, Misty's younger brother, who lived in Crescent City before they moved to MA in Aug 09. Chelsea said the van was driven during the night and she suspected Joe took it. The van was damaged and appeared to have been driven in a heavily wooded area because it was scratched and a headlight was damaged. The van was taken and held by LE for examination and later released back to its owner. Joe returned to TN shortly after LE began questioning Misty about HaLeigh's disappearance and was photographed putting up HaLeigh's posters in convenience stores in Satsuma. LE went to TN and interviewed Jo but never named him as a suspect and he was never arrested. As far as we know, Joe never took a LDT nor requested one in order to clear himself. On Joe's MS page, someone told him to go back to Satsuma and clear his name, but he didn't. Timmy, Misty's brother apparently took a LDT early in the case & failed. Timmy did not want to come and visit his sister and brother in jail. When Joe was contacted recently at his mother's place in TN where he lives, he told the caller not to call back. In Misty's recent conversations with her father, they talked about Joe and Misty said he was selling weed and it wasn't fair that LE allowed him his freedom while she and Tommy were holed up in jail. Hank said fat the beginning, he told LE he suspected Joe was involved and he wanted to help bring HaLeigh home to bring closure to her family. Misty said closure was necessary for everyone. Joe allegedly told Ronald he would get what he had coming to him. Misty told LE she did not trust Joe and claimed he had messed with her. Misty said she wasn't sure whether Joe was involved in HaLeigh's disappearance, but recently she wrote a letter to Chelsea and her father saying she woke up and saw Joe standing in the door with HaLeigh which is why Joe wouldn't answer phone calls. Joe's M.O. was propping open doors.

Hey Friends: I really appreciate all of you for the fact that you know who I am, how I am and that I am one of those inherently "see all the good" types of people. I think it is so sweet that so many have pointed that out. As far as Ron, perhaps I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I thought he was so sincere in the 911 call and the early days after haleigh went missing. You guys could be right. I have been known to be wrong. And unfortunately, in this case... I am most likely wrong. Which is sad.

When you think of what Haleigh had for a life. Maybe because the 'excuse' would be more plausible. It is easier to buy that perhaps she wandered outside vs the little guy. The other reason could be that she was actually awake and junior wasn't. Perhaps when they started ransacking the house for the gun Haleigh got scared and started crying and drew the attention to her which then made her the 'target' because she stood out??

Or it could be that she was daddy's little girl. Everyone knows how much a little girl means to their daddy. I mean, sure a son is important, but dad's feel so much more responsible to protect their daughters. It was like a slam to Ron's manhood that he didn't protect his daughter.

oh, that is a good point. She could have told her dad what went on in the trailer and how guys were there looking in their home for the gun.

Either way, I do think Misty knows exactly who and why. She has all along. Whether Ron did is still sketchy for me. There was something so believable. I know he is in trouble for drugs, but this may have been his attempt to get closer to Misty in hopes it would lead to the truth about what happened to his daughter. OR there is also the possibility that he went heavier into drugs to 'medicate' due to the stress and a broken heart, not to mention the helplessness and loss of 'control' of his life knowing his daughter was somewhere 'out there'. I would end up a druggie if someone stole my baby and I didn't know where she was night after night. I am pretty sure I would have a hard time not going to something to ease that pain. And whatever I got into had better have the ability to numb that pain or someone would find me out back hanging from a tree.

You know I go back and forth on this... IMO Ron never acted like a father of a missing child, Maybe I just don't know what a parent should or does act like when their child is missing but he truly does remind me of casey anthony. I'm afraid that little Junior was right the couch was bouncing and it was joe with Haleigh. TC, MC and Joe were all high and so out of it that they allowed joe to do this while they stood outside the back door and smoked/did more drugs.
Haleigh died because of this act and they got rid of her.

SATSUMA — In one of the most intense searches since the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings last year, officers, divers and police dogs combed a section of the St. Johns River and its banks Tuesday following a new lead in the case.

Family members of the missing girl were called together and Misty Croslin, who reported the 5-year-old missing, was taken from jail in St. Johns County to be interviewed, Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said. She was being held there on drug-trafficking charges in a separate case.

Hardy wouldn’t elaborate on whether anything was discovered, but responded that Haleigh had not been found. He said he updated the family on the search along the St. Johns River about five miles south of Haleigh’s Satsuma home. He said it will continue “as long as it takes” and information will be released as it becomes available.

A break may have come from Croslin, who said she was with Haleigh and the kindergartner’s brother the night of the disappearance. Her attorney said she may have provided helpful information that led to other leads.

“This latest search was based on information from someone else,” said attorney Robert Fields. He said Croslin may have “shed some light” on who was responsible.

“Somebody else has possibly been implicated in this,” he said. “You need to look away from Misty.”

Croslin’s mother, Lisa Croslin, said her daughter said she was taken to Putnam County but was separated from other members of Haleigh’s family and left alone in a room before she was returned to St. Johns County.

Lisa Croslin said her daughter told her by phone from the St. Johns jail that she was not interviewed about the case Tuesday.

Haleigh’s birth mother, Crystal Sheffield, said she would rather not comment. She and her mother, Marie Griffis, met with the sheriff Tuesday. From their ranch in Baker County, other family members said the Sheriff’s Office and property owners didn’t want media there and couldn’t comment further.

Investigators have not described the nature of the lead, but an aunt of a Tennessee man who was in Putnam County when Haleigh disappeared said media there have staked out his house in the Nashville area.

The man, Joseph Overstreet, is a cousin of Croslin’s and was in a dispute with Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, when Cummings accused him of stealing a gun. Overstreet moved back to Tennessee after Haleigh disappeared. He was interviewed by detectives before being cleared last year.

Tuesday, officers, divers and police dogs from several Northeast Florida agencies combed an area off County Road 309, including the river and woods on either bank. Dozens of searchers, divers and several boats are being used, including some equipped with sophisticated underwater sonar.

The location is around Shell Harbour Road, close to where Misty Croslin’s parents lived on Magnolia Drive before Haleigh disappeared. Her father, Hank Croslin Sr., said Overstreet had stayed at the residence before.
Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said the area hadn’t been search before.

wanna here what gets me. as soon as she was reported missing, they brought the dogs out and her scent ended at the same river/lake that they are searching in. but now they are looking in a different area.
all i can think is that they took her to the lake (1st dogs) and drowned her there, then took the body and dumped it off the boat ramp. noone is gonna pay attention at a boat ramp, people are in and out of those things all the time.

Investigators were back out in Satsuma, Fla. looking for clues into the disapperance of Haleigh Cummings Tuesday. She's the 5-year-old girl who disappeared from her bed in her father's mobile home in Satsuma 14 months ago.
Sources told WFTV a suspect is in custody, but wouldn't provide any additional details.

News Talk 97.3 the Sky is efforting to get confirmation on this claim.

Divers are seen in this aerial picture from News4Jax.com carrying what looks like a large ice chest out of the St. Johns River at a boat ramp near Shell Harbor Road, but Putnam County Sheriff Jeff hardy stated in a brief news conference Tuesday that Haleigh had not been found and that a decision as to whether the abduction case could be changed to a homicide case would be made later.

Hardy said "the search will go on as long as it takes."

Hardy acknowledged that he had met with family members earlier on Tuesday, but declined to say what was discussed.

The search for haleigh remains focused along the St. John's River between Welaka and Satsuma near County Road 309.

Several law enforcement boats have been scouring the river near the boat ramp at the end of Shell Harbor Road, which remains blocked off by deputies.


News Talk 97.3 The Sky has known the identity of the tipster since Wednesday morning, but complied with the wishes of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office to refrain from exposing him out of concerns that public knowledge of his identity could compromise the investigation and possibly a case.

Jacksonville.com reported late Tuesday a break may have come in the case from Misty Croslin, who was with Haleigh and the youngster's brother the evening before the kindergartner disappeared.

A tip led police to the search they are now conducting in the St. Johns River in Satsuma for the body of Haleigh Cummings, the 5-year-old girl who disappeared in February 2009.

Putnam County Sheriff's officials on the scene declined to give any details on the tip or the person who gave it. However, they did say that they had physical evidence to support their search, although they did not provide details. At the scene in addition to Putnam County Sheriff's deputies is a dive team from the Duval County Sheriff's Office. Divers are using sonar to help in their search. Officials have said they plan to be at the scene all night if necessary.

I am not sure I want to know what was in that 'blue' cooler. :( I think most of us knew this would be the end result of the search for little Ms. Haleigh. I hope that the people involved fry for whatever it is that they did to her. She was an innocent baby girl and incapable of putting up much of a fight for her life.

Rons mom said they are searching because they have a new lead.... and something to substantiate that lead.

Ronald was brought to the police station with other family members when investigators told them of the search that they were planning to do at the River. Ron was devastated and his mom said it was extra hard on him because he has to return to jail and deal with this alone without family.

She also stated that she wasn't allowed to say certain things and had to decline comment on a few questions such as what it was the investigators knew as to why they were searching. But again, they do have physical evidence that has led them to the river. She broke down toward the end of the interview. HAHA I jumped up this AM and ran over to check to see if they found precious HaLeigh, I guess they didn't actually find her yet but I does seem something terrible happened to her and she is no longer w/ us. ART HARRIS, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Nancy, I can tell you that the break in this case, as unlikely as it sounds, came from Misty`s brother, Tommy Croslin, and that in an interview that he had with a retired FBI agent, Steve Brown (ph), supposedly an investigator for his lawyer -- Brown would not comment -- but that he told him that is where they should look and that Tommy led detectives in the last couple of days to this spot on the river with Steve Brown and said that`s where they needed to go look, that this is where her body had been dumped.

He suddenly has confirmed, it looks like, the story that Misty Croslin, his sister, has been telling others in two letters from jail, claiming cousin Joe from Tennessee came into the trailer that night, tried to steal a gun from her then boyfriend, now husband -- or now ex-husband Ronald Cummings, couldn`t find, it, got mad, took Haleigh, that Tommy left and Joe left with Haleigh. Joe has denied any involvement. He has a lawyer. He`s talked to investigators a couple of times.

But back to the river bank. It was Tommy who flunked a polygraph in the last few days, my sources tell me, a private polygraph, and he decided finally to come clean. I talked to his grandmother in Tennessee today, Nancy, and she said to me that Tommy was on the phone with her and said -- she said he said, I`m just -- I can`t keep this to myself any longer. Her name is Flora Holler. She said to me, Well, I asked him, Did Joe do it? And Tommy said yes.

It's been some 14 months since Misty Croslin told Ronald Cummings his daughter had disappeared from the home they shared.

"We're going to continue this investigation until we can bring it to a logical conclusion," Hardy said.

Putnam County detectives say they've talked to hundreds of people and followed nearly as many leads since the disappearance.

If HaLeigh's alive, she's 6 years old. But many people here doubt she ever saw her 6th birthday. There was lots of speculation from people stopping at the scene that the latest search may finally give an answer.

There was also anger. One woman suggested bits of Misty Croslin be pulled off until she told what really happened.

Carl Brown who lives on Shell Harbour Road has heard many stories since he moved to the area about 18 months ago including one that Misty Croslin was seen in the area putting something in a garbage can after the disappearance of HaLeigh.

"He said he reported it to deputies," he said. Croslin reportedly had lived about two blocks from the Shell Harbour Road at some point.

When Brown went outside at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning two of his neighbors were talking about the HaLeigh case again and what was going on at the boat ramp.

"One of them said one of HaLeigh's grandmothers was at the ramp (Monday)," Brown said.

Brown walked down to the area and watched the officers

"At one point the divers were all the way across the river on the far bank. ... Then they seemed to concentrate on the area by the boat ramp," he said. He said they also searched a scum covered retention pond.

At that point the river is about a football field and a half in width.

Sonar equipment from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was being used, according to Lt. Johnny Greenwood with the Putnam Sheriff's Office.

The search area was between two fingerling docks that go out beside the county-maintained dock. Several boats are docked in the area. A long closed restaurant is also near the area. Numerous waterfront homes are along both sides of the dock.

Brown said officers also apparently were searching in wooded areas near the dock.

Greenwood said the site was "quite a bit south" of where HaLeigh went missing. The dock is about five miles by road from that location.

Greenwood would only say a search was being conducted for "new physical evidence" in the Cummings case.

Although law enforcement tried to keep the search quiet, that failed. One officer speculated the same person who tipped off the sheriff's office might have tipped off reporters.

All day long Tuesday and into the night Tuesday a single Putnam County Sheriff's Office cruiser sat parked in the middle of Shell Harbor Road near Satsuma in southern Putnam County.

The blue lights kept flashing as a deputy stopped cars coming out of and going into the quiet rural road.

News vans from Jacksonville and Orlando as well as cars belonging to reporters parked on the roadway and in a paved lot of a former business facing onto County Road 309.

Brief showers throughout the day slowed traffic.

Several times in the morning and afternoon Putnam County school buses pulled over to let out children getting on and getting off.

About a mile-and-a-half from the search site is a substation of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Just out of sight of that is a huge billboard with a picture of blonde HaLeigh Cummings and a request for information on her disappearance.

The home of Misty Croslin's cousin in Tennessee was surrounded by police Tuesday night, her father said.

Divers searching for Haleigh Cummings on Tuesday apparently recovered items that brought a University of Florida anthropologist to the St. Johns River south of Satsuma.


Tuesday morning saw a dramatic increase in activity, with dozens of officers from several law enforcement agencies converging on the Shell Harbour boat ramp in South Putnam.
It was clear that investigators expected to find something on Tuesday.


The Shell Harbour camp area was not searched when Haleigh vanished 14 months ago, Greenwood said.

Authorities also refused to say what divers found and, whether Haleigh's case has shifted to a homicide investigation.

"That is a decision that will be made later, said" Sheriff Hardy.

Hardy also met privately with Haleigh's family members, including her father, Ronald Cummings, for "some private conversations."

Officials refused to confirm or deny that possible human remains were recovered Tuesday but did say the search was scheduled to resume today.

About 5 p.m., a truck from the university drove through the checkpoint. The vehicle was from the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory, which the school says provides "forensic anthropology services for medical examiners and coroners."
The lab has been involved in several high-profile cases.

The truck left about 7:30 p.m. and officials did not say whether human bones had been found.

It was mid-morning when local, state and federal officers swarmed over the Shell Harbour neighborhood, which lies between the river and County Road 309. As boats and divers entered the river, detectives interviewed residents and other deputies sealed off the neighborhood. Only law enforcement and people who lived in the neighborhood were allowed in.

Carl Brown, who lives in the neighborhood, said a deputy yelled at him to leave when he walked toward where the search was launched.

"We're taxpayers and we live in the community and we have a right to know what's going on," Brown said. "He screamed at me just like I was a dog."

Authorities also kept boaters from passing through that section of the river, an action that prevented four boats of vacationers from reaching Stegbones Fish Camp after a morning of fishing.

"They were coming back to clean their fish and eat and they can't come back," camp manager Stan Plaisted said.

Bands of rain showers rolled through the area Tuesday, dousing searchers, reporters and the stranded boaters.

As divers worked, other searchers covered the shore with dogs specially trained to find dead bodies and police boats equipped with sonar followed search patterns across the river.

Several containers of items recovered by divers were loaded onto boats and taken to shore.

Visibility was poor in the water, Lt. Ben Allen of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said Tuesday night.


On Tuesday Misty Croslin was brought to the Putnam for questioning, then returned to the jail in St. Augustine. She did not meet with Haleigh's relatives.


Brown said, Misty Croslin, "used to live two blocks from here" with her parents.

Brown said another resident told him he saw Croslin carrying a trash bag nearby in the days after Haleigh was reported missing.

I was watching Channel 4 live this morning and the PI for Crystal was on. He is former FBI and claims to have solved this case over the last 10 months. I don't know if that is true or not, but from hearing him talk, it seems as though the tip came from him...
It continues to get crazier.
Also, the last news link reports that Joe was questioned in Tennessee last night for around 20 minutes and went back home..

I am sorry for putting that out there, but once this guy I knew (who I wont talk to because he said this) was fighting with his wife and said, "If I killed her, nobody would find her body. I would cut her up, put her through a chipper shredder and then mix her parts in concrete. I would go to the middle of Lake Michigan and dump the concrete into the water" :dong: Can you say.... fucking crazy fucker??? Back to Haleigh--- I think it is a matter of time, soon, that she will be recovered. At least this is my hopes.
