Are there actual docs somewhere recently released?

Hey there Rockin :hello:

I'm sure if I am answering this question correctly but it is my understanding that no actual documents can be released in HaLeigh's case yet because an arrest has not been made. All of the phone calls that have been released have been done while Dummy, Mustass, Ronbo & Hopeless are in jail for the drug trafficking charge cases. When an arrest is made in HaLeigh's case, the FL Sunshine Laws will be in effect and then documentation can be released

SM,

Art Harris on JVM is saying that MC said that when JO left the trailer with HaLeigh, she heard the door of the van slam, the van that was used to carry HaLeigh to the river.

Art reports that the audio tapes and videos are a bit behind, from March and April. Art stated that he had just got off the phone with Robert Fields who Art said informed him that MC has told LE all she knows, including the above sentence and they are only waiting for LE to act on it.

Haleigh Cummings – Yet More Jail Vids – DVD 3

Posted on May 24th, 2010
by Simon Barrett in Society and Culture, crime

I suspect that my good friend over at The Sky 97.3 TJ Hart might have these running already over on his site. But I will publish the tapes anyway, I am sure that there are some folks that have not heard them.

This DVD contains conversations between Tommy Croslin and his wife Lindsay Croslin.

It would be easy to offer some ‘Op Ed’ on these tapes, but I think I will refrain. The entire Haleigh Cummings story is so sad that to even discuss the family is enough to give even the most seasoned seafarer a case of Sea sickness.

Do any of these tapes help find Haleigh Cummings? The answer has to be a resounding NO. But they do reveal much about the family dynamics involved in both the Croslin and Cummings families.

The St. Johns County Jail has released hours of jailhouse phone calls made by Misty Croslin Cummings. The tapes reveal a defiant woman discussing subjects she has not talked about in some time.

"I know i didn't have anything to do with anything and god knows so they can all kiss my butt," she told her father in one conversation.

Misty is the last person believed to have seen Haleigh Cummings alive. Weeks after the investigators announced the child was killed Misty maintains she had nothing to do with Haleigh's disappearance. She's currently being held on drug charges.

More Haleigh Cummings coverage on MyFoxOrlando.com >>>

In one tape she talks to her dad about possible deals with prosecutors to get out of jail. "They're not going to offer anything until the truth comes out and they're not going be lenient on you," her father told her. "So if you know something sister you need to tell em something."

In the video Misty says investigators are still pressuring her for information and believe she remains the key to what happened to Haleigh. "They need to move on, get away from me, get off from me. They need to move on. I've been telling them that move on," she said. "I don't have the answer I'm not the key. It's not me."

She also told her dad that her ex-husband Ronald Cummings has pressured her to tell him what happened to Haleigh.

I gotta say...the release of these tapes hasn't cleared up a damned thing for me. I am more confused about who did what in this case than I have ever been! What a mess! I kinda feel for the cops, except I can't even tell if they've totally fucked this up or what! I am really hoping the LE involved knows what they are doing. I am still asking myself how the hell these uneducated people have the cops so baffled. How have these secrets been kept for so long? It is very odd........

This was on SM,,don't know if I agree but it is something to think about......

Very interesting to me, the theory that some on other boards have... that perhaps TN is the mastermind of all, that all this seeming 'cover-up' is everyone covering for her, that she is in this up to her eyeballs.

When the odd things about TN are listed, one after another, it becomes rather overwhemingly possible that she knows everything, perhaps was even the one to blame for Haleigh's death. Perhaps not the one responsible, but the main one leading a cover-up for her death. And at the very least, perhaps was the one who has kept everything from falling apart for all this time, until it reached the point that she had no further control. (the trafficking charges).

Think about all that we've read from and about TN, and when the list goes around the corner and 5 miles down the road, you may begin to get a picture of what I'm talking about.

There's too many things to remember off the top of my head. Here's just a few things from what I've read here and elsewhere online. Maybe we could start our own thread on all the different things we've learned, and some of the things we are wondering, just about TN?

~TN knew that Oxys have a bitter taste. From what I understand about Oxys, the only time it tastes bitter is when the coating is removed in order to get a faster high. Soooooo... how does TN know about this?

~ A side note... Did anyone else realize that Oxys can be crushed or whatever and used in a nebulizer? Haleigh used a nebulizer. Did someone else use hers, didn't clean it out, and perhaps Haleigh OD'd when she used it again?

~ TN had been in a car accident, was in pain and off work. Was she taking pain pills? Did she have a prescrip for Oxys? Did Haleigh perhaps get ahold of one of HER pain pills?

~ TN said that 'she sent' AS over to the MH that night, yet didn't volunteer that info up until about 2 weeks later. And still didn't mention, at that time, the family member who came along with AS, who just by chance, happens to be a nurse. Was something wrong with Haleigh? Had she 'fallen asleep' and couldn't be awakened, fell into a coma, was she having some kind of physical reaction to having somehow been given (or had taken) something that was causing her great distress? Was the family member who is a nurse brought over to help care for Haleigh? Is that what the 8:30p (or so) fight on the phone with Ron was about? Perhaps them telling him that they'd take care of things, and for him to stay at work and act as if all was well??? (wouldn't you just lovvvvvvve to see the phone records for everyone for that night?? whose phone pinged where....)

~ Was the blanket that 'they took' actually something used by.. perhaps TN/AS and/or another family member.. rather than the guys that we've been thinking did that? Wrapped in a blanket, Haleigh's body 'could have' been placed in the back of a little red truck, just as easily as in a blue van. Just saying....

~ Where were the 'other family members' that night, between the hours of 9p and 4a? I'm talking about TN, AS, Hope, Crystal Cummings (Ron's sister), and all the various aunts/uncles/cousins?? Do they have alibis? We've heard that TN was busy. Have we heard what she was busy doing? Could any of them besides the main players have been the ones burying Haleigh, before/while the MH was being cleaned up and 911 was then called?

~ Could Misty actually be telling the truth, that she was asleep (ie passed out), or so dang 'out of it' that she didn't know what went on that night? Is it possible that Misty has been set up to be the 'fall guy', while others in Ron's family took care of cleaning things up and creating a script for everyone to follow? Then 'telling' Misty what her part in all this would be, what to say, what to do....... or else? Misty, being so dang 'out of it' having no clear memory of anything at all, goes along with it, perhaps not realizing that she's been thrown under the bus? Is that why she is so dang 'fuzzy' about everything? Her inconsistencies being the different things she can remember, as well as what others have said and/or told her? And Ron, perhaps threatening her with his ever-present gun, to go along with what she is told? Not to say that Misty is totally innocent in all this... Just saying that 'maybe' she is not as 'guilty' as she seems. Things 'could have' been set up for her to be the guilty one, taken advantage of, perhaps, because she was so 'out of it' already and likely wouldn't remember. What if???????

~ TN got to the MH in a fast hurry that night, brought that 8x10 glossy pic of Haleigh with her, and just happened to wear her LE jacket, altho she hadn't worked for them in some time. She 'could have' been somewhere other than one of her homes (like 60 miles away or so) that night, but if so, would she 'just happened to have' a huge pic of Haleigh with her? Did she perhaps show up with that 8x10 pic in order to help give the impression that Haleigh had been abducted? Why else come with pic in hand?

~ Speaking of TN's various homes, why did she report living at the one that was so far away, yet it was found that she actually lived much closer? Why so mysterious about where she actually lives? What is so important about these various homes, that TN seems to feel a need to be so mysterious?

~ It was reported by someone in the area that 'a red truck' was seen parked that night near the railroad tracks. TN drives/drove a red truck. Is that how she got there so fast? Had already been at the MH, left before LE showed up, told Ron to call her, parked a little way from the MH, so she could 'arrive' there just after LE did?

~ Could everyone be covering for something that happened to Haleigh, which involved TN? Would Ron work so dang hard at this, covering for his mother... all the while we've been thinking TN has been covering for him?

I got lots more, just on TN, that has been said her and elsewhere online... am sure others can add to this list. But for the sake of length, in this thread, I'll end it here for now.

iReport —

I am writing to give some information on Lindsay Croslin for those who don’t know who she really is. She is not the innocent girl she portrays nor is she a victim in any way shape or form. She claimed to stand by her husband no matter what and swore by his innocence. She said she would wait for him forever and loved him although she was dating the second he went to jail not to mention when he was home and they were together. Once she got a taste of freedom she immediately started seeing multiple men, talking to ex boyfriends whom she cheated on Tommy with in the past and is now talking to a new lover Keith Simpson. This not so bright 23 year old mother of 3 openly tells people stories of her unprotected sex with all of these men stating “I have my tubes tied so I can’t get pregnant” Should someone inform her she can contract and spread STDS? Is this not the girl who recently got her LPN license? I would be worried if she was going to care for one of my loved ones! Her filing for divorce came from her new attitude once dating Keith whom is over 10 years older than her and she takes care of better than her children. She admitted she was dating him because she did not want to be alone. She stated she would go back to Tommy once he got out and filed for divorce by her families request. In fact she recently put the divorce on hold. If her grandparents found out she would loose her free apartment and brand new car all provided to her by them. She parties hard, leaving her three young children unsupervised frequently, many people witnessed her children left alone or roaming outside filthy and uncared for. She was given her place to live by her grandparents where she has no bills or responsibility. Her grandfather bought her the brand new car which she lets her new boyfriend drive like it is his. This new car she uses to pick up her boyfriend daily to bring him to and from work and anywhere else he wants to go when he is not driving it. This new boyfriend of hers she has not even known a couple months and she already has him living in her home on a daily basis and his company has been grounds for calls to the police recently. The people she associates with are scum at its finest and she is ok with having that in her home and around her children at any hour of the night. There are videos and video footage of them together and on several occasions. She admits to using Xanax more than once while drinking, and brags how she got her DCF case to go away so easily. How they didn’t take her children is beyond anyone seeing as she has been spotted in the same clothes for days at a time and is always sleeping while her kids wander outdoors. Many people have witnessed this in the town homes where she resides. She is a manipulative liar who will use anyone to get where she wants to be. She uses the state of Florida for almost 1000 dollars in food stamps a month and gives them away to her new boyfriend and anyone else as well. Why is the state helping someone who is not helping themselves? She tells everyone who she is as if she is a movie star and she is proud of it. I met her once and she willingly told me her life story as well as anyone else who comes into contact with her. I met someone whom she allowed to move in with her who also offered up various information about what goes on in her home and her life. Her children have been affected by her new relationship and the fact that this man who has his own home is always sleeping in her house by her request. Her son is seeing a therapist now by request of the school due to him acting out very badly lately. She puts her own needs before her children. She was recently hired by the Department of Health in Bunnell with no experience and used her sob stories as a way in the door. She needs to have her DCF case reopened and she needs serious help. How she has 3 children and a brand new man in her home all night in a 2 bedroom makes no sense. She brags on her Myspace how she has only 200 dollars in bills a month and she cant wait to blow her 1100.00 checks every two weeks. I hope she reported this new job to the state of Florida seeing as she is receiving assistance. It is all very disturbing. The Croslins which she bashes publicly she is also willing to leave her children with in exchange for the money Hank and Lisa “owe” her. She still remains in contact with all of them although she denies it to most. Her phone records show otherwise. She admits that she had phone sex as well as provocative web cam conversations with bounty hunter Leonard Padilla on the lap top that was bought by him for her. She had these conversations in exchange for money for bills she claimed she had to pay, yet she has no bills and lives off of her grandparents and the state. The only bills she has is a water and electric bill and she is willing to have her 3 children herself her large pit bull (which she has been known to abuse and neglect) and her boyfriend crammed into a small 2 bedroom to avoid having to pay bills although she has a job and a brand new car. She is using her grandparents to get all that she has. She brags about the fact that Art Harris as well as many other reporters call her constantly. She is trailer trash at its finest. There are several more pictures of her with her new boyfriend as well as other men she has been partying with. Where are her children? I saw these photos online on some ones Myspace page who she appears to associate with. This girl needs to be investigated in a major way. Her and Chelsea know more than they let on and they speak multiple times daily. As I said her phone records would prove a lot. I don’t understand how she was overlooked all along.

Her stories change like the wind blows. She changed her story about what went on at her home the night Haliegh disappeared not to mention she still stood by Tommy the night he had his grandmother call her to have her call the attorney because he had to “tell him something he should have said a long time ago“. She also was running around town after being questioned in April telling everyone they were looking for a yellow rope although this took over a week to air on television. Her van which she got rid of she “lended” out the night of the disappearance. Something just seems out of place with this girl and her stories. After all she is a Croslin and even the ones that are by marriage all seem to be just as shady as the ones who are Croslins by blood.

Haleigh Cummings – DVD 5

Posted on May 25th, 2010
by Simon Barrett in Society and Culture, crime

DVD five contains a single conversation between Tommy Croslin and his wife Lindsay Croslin.

This jail tape was recorded in the latter part of April.

Of all of the people involved in the Haleigh Cummings case I had held Lindsay Croslin in some esteem, she seemed to be the one member in Dysfunction Junction that had more than one synapse firing.

After this tape I am re-thinking my stance.

In what has to be one of the funniest and most bizarre exchanges I have ever heard, Tommy and Lindsay get into a discussion about ‘family photographs’. Oh this has nothing to do with weddings or other family get togethers, this is about who has the best jail photo!

There are some more serious aspects to this conversation, there are mentions about ‘a friend’, who might that be? The context is about money, specifically in buying a car. Who might this friend be? I can’t see that it would be the ‘Big Hatted’ bounty hunter from California. I suspect that he has had enough automotive adventures with Hank.

Is this tape important? Probably not, but it does give further insights into the melange that the Croslin’s, Cummings, and Sheffield’s have created.

Misty & Hank Part3 Something about White Boy Greg

http://www.bloggernews.net/indepth/Haleigh/may21/dvd2/VTS_02_1_mpeg4.mp4

Misty: The state attorney that I have in Putnam County.

Hank: Yeah!

Misty: Shes over here too.

Hank: Humph!

Misty: So thats I guess. I mean, I don’t know what that means. Donna went to court earlier today.

Hank: Well, what did she get?

Misty: Ah, she got, she didn’t even get to see the judge. She got continued I guess. Oh, she coming back, talking all kind of chit. Coming to the door, I’m not even trying to pay attention to her, Shes like, oh yeah, they’re not giving us any kind of deal ah, I was like you don’t know, cause I’m not even talking to her. Shes like they are not giving us any kind of deal, we have to go to trial, twenty five years I was like whatever man, don’t even talk, I’m not even talking to her. Shes just trying to start stuff. I thought you were coming at six tonight.

Hank: No, I just got lucky and got some gas money.

Misty: Yep, I got court at 1:30 on the eight of June, of June. Another pretrial, I don’t know whats gonna happen though.

Hank: Your lawyer ain’t telling yah nutun?

Misty: Ah, I mean hes talking to me, yeah, but, I don’t know whats gonna happen. I know uh just he wants to talk to yall again in person.

Hank: Well, he called us and told us he would be getting in touch with us.

Misty: Yeah, I need you guys to call um and ask him about that thing in April. Ask him what day it is. That would be perfect. I want that.

Hank: (sighs) Sit up!

Misty: (sounding annoyed) Let me get a book, k. cause I can’t see yah.

Hank: Peggy, that Peggy Cone came to seen us yesterday.

Misty: Did she?

Hank: Yeah!

Misty: What did she want?

Hank: Something about white boy Greg.

Misty: Oh, whad they say?

Hank: They just, somebody is going around saying that that stuff happened, that supposedly happened at a party and they know its true…

Misty: They’re fu_king insane.

Hank: and they supposed to put her body in that uh, uh, that pond. I don’t know how true it is.

Misty: They’re +++++++ dad. They’re something else. They’re fu_king +++++++. If it was white boy then they need to figure out and see what he knows because I have no idea. That’s a fu_king lie. I don’t give a fu_k. There was no pardee. I did not go to no fu_king pardee.

Hank: (sighs) I don’t know Misty. Things are probably get even more tougher than this Missy. Your mom is probably gonna be in jail for ninety days.

Misty: Oh God

Hank: I know baby, well theres a pretty good chance, theres a pretty good chance that she will.

Misty: Tommy’s money is in his account.

Hank: Alisha said she did not mean, she didn’t mean to hang up on yah, but she was at the beach she lost signal.

Misty: Oh! Whose that back there?

Hank: Back where?

Misty: Is there somebody, a lady back there?

Hank: Theres a couple of ladies over there.

Misty: Ah, yeah, I talked to her but Tommy’s money is in there. And there was a juvenile that went to court with me and hes over here by Tommy and I told him to tell Tommy that his money should be in his account. Well talk to me tonight so I can call yall.

Hank: Does he have any more minutes?

Misty: Yeah! I have two more phone calls, but I need you to tell him to make sure his battery is charged.

Hank: Chelsea told me to tell yah, that ah, that ah, don’t call til later, because Timmys at work and shes got the phone.

Misty: Yeah we gone call after six

Hank: K. Its tough for us out there right now. We lucky to find a phone and spend gas money to come here for one week and then the following week its, I’m broke. Cause it takes every two weeks I only get paid. I mean you can’t be getting upset Misty, because you’re gonna have to learn to deal with it. I mean it hurts me too not to be able to come to see yah. I wanna see you, I want yah home

Misty: (whining) Me too!

Hank: I said if you know anything that can help yourself, help yourself man. Don’t be fu_cking holding nothing back.

Misty: That’s the thing I don’t.

Hank: I know, but somebody knows, somebody knows something.

Misty: I know, but its not me.

Hank: I believe yah!

Misty: You think if I knew I would be satting here, in this place like this.

Hank: I know, it doesn’t makes no sense baby! I just want you to do something for, to get out man.

Misty: I wish you knew I had court, you could have been over there. You were here in town. . I just got back. They didn’t tell you that you had to wait or anything?

Hank: No, I got here at 2, and they told me I had to wait til 2:45, come back. What time you go to court.

Misty: Ah, it was like 1:30. Yeah it was like 1:30. I didn’t know I had court. I was out for lunch and after lunch they said Misty are you ready and I said ready for what? She said for court and I said for real. She said yeah, and I was like yeah, hold on. And I was riding in the van, they had me in the van. The boys were in the back and I was in the front and theres that one boy in there talking. He was like yeah, Misty you’re doing good, don’t let them bring you down. You’re doing real good, just hang on. Hes from Putnam County, so he knows John Baaar-en

Hank: Whose that?

Misty: Who you think John Barten is?

Hank: I don’t know.

Misty: Ah, John Barten is the boy in that trailer with the, that has Timmy’s dog.

Hank: Oh yeah, snitch!

Misty: Yeah!

Hank: You can’t, I’m not going over Tony’s house for nothing. I don’t like them people. I don’t want to nothing to do with them kind of people.

Misty: Well dad, sometimes you know if it gets, I knew that he would do it for me though..

Hank: Hes full of chit. He wasn’t gonna do nothing for yah.

Misty: How’d you get money?

Hank: I got ten dollars don’t worry. Hope I got enough gas to make it home on. It only give me a quarter of a tank. Gas is like almost three dollars a gallon. Friday as soon as I get my check I’ll get minutes on phone

Misty: K

Hank: But I got get some money for your mom for her probation, cause I don’t want them violating her on that and giving her more time. I don’t know how I’m gonna make it by myself for 3 months anyways.

Misty: I just don’t understand I think they are gonna add time

Hank: I don’t know. I don’t know.

Misty: She didn’t even do anything.

Hank: Well, I don’t know. Your mom is gonna have to straighten her life out too. Maybe it will be good for her.

Misty: Yeah, she don’t need to go to da jail, not in Putnam County.

Hank: I don’t want her to go there but you know if she goes its not gonna kill her

Misty: I know its not gonna kill her, but that place is not for her. Not that place.

Hank: Well she needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Straighten her life out, shes getting on my nerves, I’m telling yah, you just don’t even know. All this chit is getting on my nerves . I’m sick of it.

Misty: Ask her, didn’t she get a new probation officer?

Hank: Yeah, Mr. King

Misty: Tell her she needs to ask him if she can come to my court date.

Hank: She can’t leave the county right now.

Misty: But will you please when you leave here call him, my lawyer so when I call tonight I’ll know.

Hank: I’ll call but he won’t answer, but I’ll call I probably can’t do it til I get home because I don’t got his number. I’ll call and leave it on his recording that you said her court date is being changed if you would give me a call let me know what day it is.

Misty: Cause I don’t know what day it is.

Hank: Everybody elses is in May

Misty: Yeah, but he said that, ah, April twenty something I think.

Hank: I got a hearing myself to go to, its April 29th on that restitution for that guy that ran me over. But hell he ain’t got no money, I ain’t…

Misty: Is that the date that they’re sentencing people?

Hank: No, I go 29th for a, its for restitution

Misty: Oh ok!

Hank: I know hes gonna be on probation and hes gotta pay a certain amount of money a month. I’ll get some of it. I don’t know what I’ll get. Twenty five, one lady said it could be a hundred dollars a month, I mean whatever!

Misty: Its better than nothing.

Hank: I hope more. I know, but I need more . Hell hes the one that cost me my job. Hes the one caused all this grief in my life, with not working.

Misty: I know

Hank: I would have still had my job if the sob crashed into me.

Misty: I know

Hank: He needs to be paying my rent, and my probation chit.

Misty: Ah man,

Hank: I’m sure I’m gonna probably get twelve months probation.

Misty: I was, I was so nervous today in court. I was shaking, cause they said this judge is mean, but…

Hank: They’re not mean, they’re just, they can only do what the law

Misty: I know

Hank: you know requires. Its just, everybody knows that you are not a drug dealer and if it wasn’t for this HaLeigh case they probably wouldn’t be as hard on yah. But something got to give about HaLeigh. Haleighs gotta come home

Misty: I know

Hank: Shes been gone too long. Her family needs closure, and hell we all need closure too. I mean people can think what they want, but I love that little girl just like they did. I mean, I thought the world of that little girl.

Misty: Me too, me too! Did mom get her letter?

Hank: Ah we ain’t got no letter today. I don’t know bout today, she …

Misty: I haven’t got the card yet either.

Hank: It’ll probably be there today or tomorrow.

Misty: Tomorrow, cause the mail already come today.

Hank: You need to watch what you are saying to your nanny and them guys. They’re talking to Art Harris and you don’t, they guy don’t, none of um need to talk to that sob.

Misty: I don’t tell nanny nothing though.

Hank: Well, because shes talking to him and hes…

Misty: I don’t talk about my case

Hank: Hes befriending, trying to befriend her trying to get what he can Hes already got some bullchit out there on yah. Something about you and Donna and some other girls doing some stupid chit. Suppose to be some lesbian stuff, or some chit.

Misty: Okay

Hank: I swear something like, somebody called and told me that. That Debbie lady called and told me that was on the internet. Art Harris is not, he lies, he says chit you know.

Misty: Oh yeah and its all true remember.

Hank: Yeah, he calls it exclusive interviews , he ain’t had no exclusive interviews

Misty: I know

Hank: They don’t need to talk to um no more. You need to tell nanny you guys don’t need to talk to um no more. But they just wanna get on Nancy Grace or some chit

Misty: I don’t know what they’re doing I…

Hank: Well I’m just telling yah!

Misty: talked to her earlier , shes suppose to get minutes put on her phone today.

Hank: Just telling you man, don’t be talking to that guy. All hes trying to do is cause you more grief.

Misty: I know!

Hank: That’s what those Peggy Cones guys are investigating now

Misty: Well let um investigate it. Let um, because I have nothing to do with it and I don’t know who did. If I did they’d knew a long time ago and they can leave me alone.

Hank: That what you should of said all in the beginning instead of going saying that other crap. Now they don’t believe nothing you say.

Misty: And I said that chit in the beginning dad, anyways and still didn’t believe me. Okay, I don’t know what my mind , I don’t know dad! I’m going crazy in this fu_king place

Hank: I know, I’m gone go crazy out here.

Misty: the whole time. I’m not come out of this pc chit. I’m gone be stuck in this one cell come out. She told me come out when nobody else is out but its barely anything… This is ridiculous. I don’t need this, I don’t need to be pc. They shouldn’t…

Hank: Yeah you do.

Misty: No I don’t . I wanna go work in the kitchen. I wanna be able , You know that’s crazy. I can’t do nothing

Hank: I know!

Misty: Nothing at all.

Hank: Well if you get out in population, you be put in the hole anyway cause there’ll be people fighting yah. I guarantee it.

Misty: Well theres, but they don’t have to put me in pc. Theres a block right across the hall that’s not protective, I mean , I don’t have to be pc cause they don’t want to put me over there in general population. They can put me in the work release one, so I can work at least, but I just want…

Hank: Yeah, I wish…

Misty: I can’t wait til this is over and whatever they do with me just do it so I can just get out of this place cause I don’t want to be in this jail no more. I hate this place.

Hank: You ain’t gone like it no place you go Misty. Its all, jail is jail.

Misty: I know I’m not gonna like it but its better than this. I’m not gonna be locked in a freaking protective custody

Hank: Oh I know babe. I know its got to be fu_ked up.

Misty: I sat here last night I had a dream about going to prison. I did have a dream about that. Ronald keeps coming to my head. Like I go to sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night crying because of him. I don’t know, I’m just so tired of this. I barely slept last night. They took me off my medicine so, because I’m breaking out with something. I don’t know what it is. But they don’t, they won’t , no one even knows how I feel. No one has ever had to walk in my shoes. People, keeping me lock down like this is not what I need.

Hank: They don’t care what you need Misty, they’re trying to punish you, they don’t care.

Misty: How about everybody else they are trying to punish. You know I’m no different from anybody else in this place.

Hank: They’re trying to get to you.

Misty: Donna was on tv, so why is she in protective custody?

Hank: Because she ain’t got, people don’t think that she had anything to do with

Misty:

Hank: Yeah but that ain’t why you are in protective custody. It ain’t gonna change

Misty: I know! Not til I leave this place.

The people invovled for posting this garbage names are Tasha Martinez and Lavel Trumpler. When you are trying to assassinate someone's character please look at your first. They are looking for some spotlight from Nancy Grace for maybe an interview or whatever. My advice to anyone wanting there comments and for those comments to be taken seriously do a thorough background check before you start talking to them, you will see what many people have seen when they have come in contact with them.

I am open for any and all questions regarding this post of lies and hate.

OOooo LQQKIE LQQ,,,,Mustball has come up with another story,,this was on SM,

Nancy Grace covering Haleigh. Mentioning new jail house letter. (suposedly Mistique sent another lettter to sister-in-law, Chelsea (?), Brother Timmy's wife).

AH said that in the new letter that police had searched the wrong dock.

...and her lawyer, Robert Fields says she just might be confused.

Miz Nancy's knickers seem a little tight tonight.

Yeah she didn't like it when Mark Klass started talking about Ron using Misty for sex and a babysister lol!

I noticed on NG they didn't have any callers, were they afraid people would ask about the cybersex between LP and Lindsy?

Timmy & Chelsea Croslin: What all is known about Timmy waking up at 12:30AM Feb 9th?

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5223445&postcount=245

Timmy & Chelsea Croslin have been on my radar since the beginni
ng. He is said to be Misty's favorite brother and IMO if Misty was ever to need help, he would be the one she would call on.
There are several things that have been said by Misty and Ronald about Timmy that make me wonder if it was not Timmy that also came to Misty's aid the night Haleigh went missing.

Ronald mentions to Cobra early on that Timmy was awake at 1AM. Nothing much was said, except that Timmy was awake. How would RC know this?

Chelsea claims he was knocked out asleep that night on pain meds.

Misty later says on her LVA test that Timmy woke up around 12:30AM -1:00AM Feb 9, 2009 and noticed Joe was not in his room. How would Chelsea not of noticed if Joe took off? Later he says Joe was sitting up on the bed.
If Timmy did wake up, why?

If something was going on Chelsea would of known as well, she said she was up late working on insurance paper work. So how is it that Timmy and Chelsea don't know where Joe was or if he took the van? Chelsea only points the finger at Joe and gives a different time of seeing him up with his clothe on. IMO, Timmy and Chelsea know much more than what they are saying.Listen around the 2:14 Mark to what Misty has to say about Timmy being awake.

Reality hits home for Croslin parents
Hank and Lisa Croslin can't find work and are facing legal problems.

PALATKA - Hank Croslin never dreamed he would find himself in the situation he is in now - broke, living in a shelter, two of his children in jail, he and his wife on probation.

"It's like something you see on TV, not in your own life," Croslin said. "It's a scary life."

But Hank Croslin's life is on TV. In fact, TV and other media have helped make Croslin and his family celebrities in an unscripted reality show - one that involves a missing 5-year-old girl, illicit drug sales, family feuds and other travails, played out on national television, in Internet blogs, newspapers and television news.

"It's strange," Croslin said on a hot afternoon outside a church-run shelter in Palatka that for about five months has been home to him and his wife, Lisa.

Hank Croslin is the father of Misty Croslin, 18, who was the girlfriend, then wife and now ex-wife of Ronald Cummings, the father of Haleigh Cummings.

In February 2009, Haleigh disappeared while in the care of Misty Croslin and has not been seen since. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office now believes Haleigh is dead, and her case has been declared a homicide.

The case generated a rush of publicity. Pictures of Haleigh saturated the news. Video of a sobbing Ronald Cummings and tearful Misty were beamed across the nation on network news and such shows as HLN's "Nancy Grace."

But as more was learned about the families involved, some of the sympathy turned to suspicion. Authorities said Misty was giving inconsistent accounts. Speculation flew across the blogs.

Just when the story would enter a lull, someone would get into legal trouble - Hank Croslin was charged with doctor shopping for prescription narcotics, Lisa for forging a check, Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. for various offenses, including drug possession.

Finally, in January, authorities arrested several family members on charges of trafficking prescription narcotics - Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin, Ronald Cummings, a cousin of Cummings and a friend of Misty Croslin's.

Since then, Hank Croslin became a familiar face on "Nancy Grace," television news and in blogs, thanks to the release of videotapes of his visits with his children in the St. Johns County Jail.

Now, Hank Croslin said, he and his wife have become shunned figures in Palatka.

"Me and Lisa, we were both out of town when (Haleigh) come up missing, but everybody points the finger at us - there's the Croslins. When we were looking for a place - three or four places we were trying to rent - they didn't want us," he said. "It's just like the jobs. Nobody will give us a job in this town. I've worked since I was 15 years old. I've never been without work until now. I've always done good until now."

Lisa Croslin, who did not want to be interviewed for this story, also cannot find work, her husband said. She most often has had jobs in hotels and housekeeping and would like to move to St. Augustine, Hank Croslin said, because there are better job opportunities there.

But the couple cannot move because they do not have the money to pay off a combined $2,500 in court costs related to their cases, Hank Croslin said.

Hank Croslin said he has worked in the construction field most of his life and was making good money doing drywalling in Florida. He left his home state of Michigan at 16, moving to Tennessee, where he met Lisa Croslin. They married young - he was 17, and she was 16 - and lived in Tennessee for about 10 years before a more nomadic life that took the family to several states, including Florida.

While living in Flagler County, Tommy Croslin met his wife, Lindsy. Her grandfather owned property in Satsuma. They moved there, and eventually the rest of the Croslins followed.

Hank, Tommy and another of Hank's children, Timmy Croslin, got jobs from the same contractor.

Hank Croslin said things were going well. But then he was injured in a car crash involving a drunken driver that left him with serious injuries that required surgery.

Then, Haleigh disappeared.

"After I'd got healed up, Haleigh had happened, and that's when they [the contractor] got rid of all of us. Tommy was working for them, and Timmy was working for them. They just fired all of us," he said. "I wish we never came here."

Drug arrests and lots of publicity followed. Videotaped visits that Hank Croslin had with his children, which were released by the St. Johns County Jail, are a regular loop on the "Nancy Grace" show and are dissected in detail on blogs.

Hank Croslin now receives phone calls and letters from strangers.

"People call us all of the time - I don't know how they get the number. I just hang up on them," he said. "We have some people that write letters. They say they want to be (Misty's) friend."

Another person Hank hangs up on is his mother-in-law, Flora Hollars.

The Tennessee woman created her own media blitz when she said Tommy Croslin gave her details of events leading up to Haleigh's disappearance that implicated his cousin, Joseph Overstreet. Hollars made the rounds of the "Nancy Grace" and morning television shows. Some of what she said was shown to be false when Tommy Croslin's attorney released an audio recording of the conversation.

"I don't talk to none of them. If they call, I hang up on them. She went on TV and said some (stuff). We already have enough problems," he said. "But she's Lisa's mom, and she's not going to hang up on her. I don't have to like her."

Misty Croslin's attorney, Robert Fields, said he never anticipated the fallout the case has generated. Family members, Fields said, have become caught up in the rise of what he considers tabloid media - including bloggers and other Internet sites.

Fields characterized some of the blogs and other attention as "venomous" and done by people who have nothing better to to do with their lives.

"In looking at it objectively, (Hank and Lisa) did not directly create the situation, but Misty is partly a product of their parentship," Fields said. "They are public figures, but I don't think they put themselves out there. Misty put herself out there. It is interesting."

Putnam County Chamber of Commerce President Dana Cameron Jones said crimes against children and drug abuse are everywhere.

Jones said she does not believe the publicity from the Haleigh case and the subsequent troubles of the Croslins and Cummings have cast Putnam County in a negative light.

"The reason I don't feel like it is because these things are happening all over the country. These stories that come sometimes go quickly, and sometimes they linger, but there are just so many of them that the focus is like - Palatka, that's where that girl is from," Jones said. "I think the country has gotten so used to seeing this kind of thing all of the time.

"I just came back from a trip to three states and made it a point to tell people where I am from, and not a single person has mentioned it," Jones said.

Hank Croslin said he has no idea what is going to happen to Misty and Tommy - whom he described as good kids. He also doesn't know what will become of himself and Lisa. He would like for the family to one day be together.

"I grew up without a daddy. I'm not a perfect dad. My kids had a hard life," he said. "But we have always been close. They are my family."

ART HARRIS, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: This letter, Nancy, comes from Misty Croslin to her sister-in-law, Chelsea. And in it, she says that the police have searched the wrong dock, that Tommy took her to another dock nearby, and that`s where he and Joe allegedly threw the body off of little Haleigh.

Now, her lawyer tells me, Robert Fields, that he thinks she`s confused, that they were walking down a road about a month before they were arrested when Tommy revealed where the body was dumped. He thinks that his client may be confused. But still, she says in this letter that the police, she believes, are searching on the wrong dock.

After pleading guilty and being sentenced to 15 years, Hope called her mother and claimed her attorney did not explain to her what she was doing by pleading guilty. She was very tearful and angry in that call and basically blamed everyone but herself for her situation. IMO Hope thought she would plead guilty and get a light sentence and probation. When that did not happen she is casting blame on her attorney for ineffective counsel. In view of her accusations against her attorney, she is asking that a new attorney be appointed to handle her appeal. More drama from a sad character who does not want to take responsibility for her actions.

Its difficult without finding a body but can be done. Just way more difficult. They really don't have a ton of evidence to work with.....just a bunch of confusing lies, suspicion and drug addicts pointing the finger at each other. Nothing of evidentiary value has really surfaced, just tons of drama.

Personally, I give the cops credit. They surveilled them undercover for quite a while and busted them on drug charges putting them in jail right where they belong and they are now blaming eachother which is exactly what the police wanted.

The aren't stupid, they didn't give up on getting justice for Haleigh, they are playing chess and working with what they have.

What is hidden will always come to light and much quicker if they are stewing in jail.

That is what I am hoping, Echo. I really feel the cops know what they are doing, I just have moments of doubt. I still find it amazing that nothing of value (evidence-wise) has surfaced. How the hell have these hillbilly fucks been able to hold the cops off for as long as they have? I don't get it.

I know. It's crazy. I don't even see circumstantial evidence in this case. There is nothing that would hold up at trial as of right now which is weird. With Peterson and Casey Anthony there is/was TONS of circumstantial evidence, phone calls, behavior, affairs, easily proven lies, motive, opportunity. All before they found Laci and Caylee.

They just don't have it here. It's a bunch of confusion, suspicious, behavior, and drama. I honestly believe that one or more of them will take a deal sooner or later. And the fact that one has not turned on all of them just yet tells me that the are ALL involved somehow and are all guilty of killing and disposing of that little girl.

I still believe that she OD'd on one of their pills and they all worked together to get rid of her to avoid jail and blamed it on a kidnapping.

Haleigh Cummings Murder Investigation Complicated by Misty's Mirror Effects

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5432680/haleigh_cummings_murder_investigation.html?cat=8

In April, the big news in the Haleigh Cummings murder investigation was that Misty and her brother Tommy had fingered their cousin Joe Overstreet as the murderer, claiming he dumped Haleigh's body in the St. John's River. Now Misty says that she knows no such thing, that in her earlier statements she merely reflected what people told her.

In a taped jailhouse conversation with her father, Misty denies knowing whether Overstreet played a role in Haleigh Cummings' disappearance. She attributes her previous statements about Overstreet's role to the effects of conversations heard in her cell block, which she described as people putting things in her head. Misty said of the Overstreet accusation, "...in my mind it's just like, you know, people keep saying this person, this person, so you know in your mind you're like well hey that's that person so you actually start to believe it, like the Joe thing. You just, I want to believe that because that's what I keep hearing and it just like makes like sense this is what happened you know, but I don't know for 100 percent that that was him. I don't know."

Haleigh Cummings – Even More From The Dreaded Data Dump Of May 21

by Simon Barrett in Society and Culture, crime

I have to admit that these discs have been a challenge. There were some missing files from our original release, three of us have spent the day trying to locate them. I am pleased to say that I do believe we have found the five missing audio files.

The recordings are phone calls made by Tommy Croslin.

Tape one - Tommy Croslin and Hank Croslin – Lindsay is angry with Tommy. Once again the conversation is about money. This tape was made a few days before the divorce papers were filed. Clearly Tommy is waiting for the event to happen (04/17)

Tape two - Tommy Croslin and Lisa Croslin – Lisa has good news, she only got another 12 months of probation. But she can’t come visit Tommy until she has paid her $1088 fine! Hope Sykes getting 15 years is discussed. “That’s Bullshit” says Tommy (04/27)

Tape three – Tommy Croslin and Hank Croslin – Yet more discussion about Hope Sykes and her scoring 15 years. Tommy is still claiming that 3 years is all he faces. Hank Croslin talking about Misty Croslin’s reaction to the Hope Sykes news “She is as scared as SH!T”. (04/28)

Tape four - Tommy Croslin and Timmy Croslin – More discussion about Lindsay and the divorce. Apparently Lindsay is not replying to his letters. Did I hear Timmy say that he was going to write but he was ‘half buzzed up’? (04/29)

Tape five – Tommy Croslin and Timmy Croslin – Yet more Lindsay stuff. Tommy had asked Timmy to call, and it was not a happy call. Timmy instigates a three way call. Lindsay comes on the line. Tommy asks her “Why are you doing this sh!t?”.

We have not had a chance to analyze these tapes, they are what they are! If you have an aversion to strong language I would suggest that you avoid listening to these tapes.

Tape One: http://www.bloggernews.net/indepth/Haleigh/may21/cd1/missing/STJ02-34-20100417185056.wav

Tape Two: http://www.bloggernews.net/indepth/Haleigh/may21/cd1/missing/STJ02-34-20100427162118.wav

Tape Three: http://www.bloggernews.net/indepth/Haleigh/may21/cd1/missing/STJ02-34-20100428123502.wav

Tape Four: http://www.bloggernews.net/indepth/Haleigh/may21/cd1/missing/STJ02-34-20100429135058.wav

Tape Five: http://www.bloggernews.net/indepth/Haleigh/may21/cd1/missing/STJ02-34-20100429204834.wav

Do they bring any light on what happened to Haleigh Cummings, probably not. They do however offer some interesting background to this completely dysfunctional family.

Misty Croslin trial set for Aug. 23

PALATKA - An Aug. 23 trial date was set Thursday morning for Misty Croslin's seven drug charges in Putnam County.

Croslin - who was baby-sitting 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings at their Satsuma home when the girl was reported missing in February 2009 - is accused of trafficking in prescription drugs. The 18-year-old woman was arrested in January following an undercover operation that resulted in five arrests.

She is charged also with drug trafficking in St. Johns County.

Croslin's brother Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr., 23, was in court as well in Palatka Thursday morning. He entered no-contest pleas to charges of trafficking in hydrocodone and possession of hydrocodone. Circuit Judge Terry LaRue ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.

On the trafficking charge, Tommy Croslin faces a minimum sentence of 44 months in prison.

"He wants to get this behind him and move on," Tommy Croslin's lawyer James Werter said in court. Afterward, the lawyer said his client has told police everything he knows about the disappearance - and the presumed death - of Haleigh Cummings. Werter added that the State Attorney's Office seems to be looking for more information.

Werter said they looked at the facts in the drug case and decided on the no-contest plea.

The Croslins' parents - Lisa and Hank Sr. - attended the hearings Thursday morning. Lisa Croslin said her heart jumped when she saw her daughter. It was the first time in months she had seen her.

"Misty is getting fat and Tommy is losing weight," she said.

Hank Croslin Sr. said he and his wife did not know their son was going to change his plea to no contest on Thursday. But, he said, they support him.

Croslin Pleads No Contest In Drug Case
Haleigh Cummings' Father, Former Stepmother Still Awaiting Trial

POSTED: Thursday, June 3, 2010
UPDATED: 5:15 pm EDT June 3, 2010

PALATKA, Fla. -- Hank Croslin Jr. pleaded no contest Thursday morning to two counts of drug possession and trafficking. His sister, Misty, and her ex-husband, Ronald Cummings, have trials scheduled for later this summer.

The case has drawn a lot of attention because the people involved are connected to Haleigh Cummings, who disappeared from her Putnam County mobile home 15 month ago, even though the charges are in no way connected to her disappearance.

The kindergartner's body has not been found, but the Putnam County Sheriff's Office recently said they believe she was killed and consider the ongoing case a homicide investigation.

Ronald Cummings, the father of missing 6-year-old Haleigh, was among those arrested in January on the drug charges unrelated to his daughter's case.

Investigators said surveillance videos show five undercover drug deals with Cummings.

The three were arrested in January on drug traffic charges and investigators have released surveillance video showing them involved in undercover drug deals.

Misty Cummings, charged with eight counts of selling prescription drugs, is being held on $1.35 million bond, while Ronald Cummings, charged with five counts of selling prescription drugs, has his bond set at $900,000 bond. Misty's trial date is set for Aug. 23.

The sentencing date for Hank Croslin, who pleaded no contest to two counts of drug possession Thursday, is tentatively set for July 16. He is facing between three and 30 years in prison.

If Ronald and Misty Cummings are convicted, they could receive a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison, although Ronald's attorney has said he expects to reach a plea agreement with prosecutors before his scheduled July trial.

Hank Croslin Sr. said he told his son, Hank Croslin Jr., and daughter, Misty Cummigns, before they saw the judge Thursday to "hang in there and keep praying to their God."

He told Channel 4 he knows his children have used drugs, but he said they are not dealers.

"I think the drug charges pretty much was a set up," Croslin Sr. said. "Misty or (Hank) wasn't drug traffickers. They just was middlemen runners. (Police) have not got none of the drug dealers out there. They just went after Misty and (Hank). It was nothing about the drugs. It was about Haleigh."

Croslin Sr. said he hopes some good will come out of all of this. He said he knows his family is still being questioned about Haleigh and her whereabouts.

"We got to find out what happened to Haleigh," Croslin Sr. said. "We need to know. The parents need to know. We need closure for Haleigh, but I don't think the system needs to entrap anybody."

Haleigh Cummings was 5 years old when she disappeared in February 2009. Misty -- Ronald's 16-year-old girlfriend at the time -- was watching Haleigh in Ronald's trailer the night she disappeared. The couple married weeks after the disappearance, then divorced later last year.

Brother pleads no contest

By Kristin Chambers
Published: Friday, June 4, 2010 1:47 AM EDT

Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. pleaded no contest to two drug charges in court Thursday morning, just after a trial date was set for his sister, Misty Croslin, for seven counts of drug trafficking.

Croslin Jr., 23, whose family has been the center of the Haleigh Cummings investigation, pleaded to one count of trafficking in hydrocodone and one count of possession. The charges stem from a monthlong undercover narcotics investigation that ended in five arrests last January, including Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, 26, and his cousin, Hope Sykes, 18.

Croslin Jr. could receive up to 30 years in prison for the drug trafficking charge, and a maximum of five years for the possession charge.

When asked by Judge Terry LaRue if there was enough of a fact base to support Croslin Jr.'s plea, his attorney explained that his client had sold 45 hydrocodone pills to undercover officers and had been arrested on a schedule-two controlled substance.

"He wants to go forward and get this behind him," Attorney James Werter said.

While he was questioned by the judge, Croslin Jr. answered he received an education up to the 10th grade and had worked in construction before his arrest.

He will be sentenced in July.

Just moments before her brother entered his plea, Misty Croslin, 18, appeared on seven counts of trafficking in hydrocodone.

She also faces one count of drug trafficking in St. Johns County, which she is scheduled to appear for next Tuesday.

Her trial was set for Aug. 23 in Putnam County.

With her long hair in partial corn rows, she spoke softly to the judge as she signed paperwork.

She was quiet as she was led out of the full courtroom, taking a moment to peek over her shoulder at her family.

The last chance for Croslin negotiate a plea with the state is Aug. 16.

Croslin was the last person to see Haleigh Cummings before the 5-year-old vanished on Feb. 10, 2009. She later married and divorced Ronald Cummings, and has been named by investigators as a possible key to solving the child's disappearance.

Croslin and Cum-mings were recorded by hidden camera selling the drugs to undercover investigators before their arrest Jan. 20.

Cummings is scheduled to appear in court in Putnam County on July 19 for five counts of trafficking in hydrocodone.

Misty Croslin gets deal deadline

Posted: June 4, 2010 - 12:16am
By Dana Treen

PALATKA -- Misty Croslin, a central figure in the case of missing HaLeigh Cummings, was told Thursday in Putnam County court that she has until mid-August to make a deal with prosecutors in seven drug-trafficking cases that could send her to prison for decades.

Croslin, who called authorities the night the 5-year-old went missing, appeared before Judge Terry LaRue ahead of her brother. Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr., 23, pleaded no contest to trafficking and possession and will be sentenced this summer.

After four months in jail, the siblings are now closer to prison terms that are governed by minimum mandatory sentences that some say give prosecutors undue control over cases because of a judge's limited discretion to waiver.

While the drug cases are not connected to HaLeigh's disappearance, investigators have said they would take advantage of the drug arrests to ask about the high-profile mystery.

One of the few ways for judges to deviate from minimum mandatory sentences is when a defendant gives substantial assistance in another case.

The seven trafficking prescription drug charges faced by Misty Croslin, 18, come with minimum sentences of as much as 25 years, depending on the amount of drugs sold, if she is found guilty.

She also faces an eighth trafficking charge in St. Johns County.

On Thursday, the judge set a trial for Aug. 23 on the Putnam cases. Croslin has a "last chance plea date" of Aug. 16 to work out an agreement with prosecutors, LaRue said.

In a dark blue jail jumpsuit and with her hair braided tightly to her head, she spoke softly to the judge and signed notices for each of the seven counts. Her parents sat in the courtroom and later said it was upsetting to see the two brought into court.

"I about went into a panic attack," their father, Hank Croslin Sr., said.

He said he doesn't think Misty deserved all that.

Her attorney, Robert Fields, said recently that a plea deal was not being considered.

"We're not in the business of giving up," he said.

Fields has said Croslin has been cooperating with detectives about HaLeigh and said it is reasonable to believe pressure to resolve that case will affect the drug outcomes. The Satsuma kindergartner disappeared while in the care of Croslin, who was dating HaLeigh's father Ronald Cummings.

Minimum mandatory sentences give prosecutors significant clout, said Deborah Fleischaker of Families Against Mandatory Minimums, a national organization working to repeal the measures.

Selling pills with a total weight of half a Hershey's bar is enough to mandate a 25-year sentence, she said.

"It shifts the balance of power away from the courts to the prosecutor," she said.

Prosecutors not only have discretion in picking charges, but also are able to set the terms of the sentence, she said.

"The minimum mandatory brings an enormous amount of pressure to bear on the defendant because they have huge sentences looming," she said.

Information in one case can be used in a sentencing deal in another, she said.

Along with the Croslins, others arrested in the undercover operation include Cummings; his cousin, Hope Sykes, 19, who has already been sentenced to 15 years in prison; and Croslin's friend Donna Brock, who was involved in the search for HaLeigh after she disappeared in February 2009.

At Cummings' most recent court appearance, his attorney said they are negotiating for a 15-year sentence.

Evidence in all the cases include dashboard recordings in an undercover detective's car that provide audio and visual images of drug transactions involving hydrocodone pills.

Croslin's brother was charged with possession of hydrocodone in November when he was found passed out in a van. He was later arrested in the undercover operation with the others.

He pleaded no contest to those charges Thursday and, under sentencing guidelines, faces a minimum of three years in prison. The judge could up that to 44 months or sentence him to a maximum of 30 years.

By July 6, a date will be set for a sentencing hearing.

James Werter, the attorney for Croslin Jr., said his client has not agreed to testify for the state when Misty Croslin goes to trial.

"There's no deals on the table," he said.

Werter said prosecutors have been using the possibility of maximum sentences to shake those involved in the case.

"They just want to hang everybody and blast everybody," he said.

The State Attorney's Office would not comment directly on the cases, but prosecutors do use sentencing guidelines, State Attorney R.J. Larizza said in a statement from his office.

"Minimum mandatory sentences are the law, and my office will enforce those laws as necessary to protect the citizens from dangerous, violent and career criminals," the statement said.

The trial date for Misty Croslin has been set, while Tommy pleaded no contest to two drug charges in court Thursday morning.

Misty Croslin will stand trial on August 23rd, on seven drug charges in Putnam County.

Tommy Croslin was also in court Thursday morning in Palatka. He entered a no-contest pleas to charges of trafficking in hydrocodone and possession of hydrocodone.

Tommy’s lawyer says that “He wants to get this behind him and move on”. While he is entitled to his opinion, I would say that Tommy is more likely to be throwing the rest of his life away. Perhaps Tommy has a deal; perhaps NOT. But it looks like to me that Tommy will be sentenced before Misty even goes to trial. Nor, was any body ever recovered from Shell Harbour. He is facing a minimum sentence of three years behind bars, but the sentence could go as high as 30 years. Need I point out that Tommy has been mighty cocky on his jailhouse videos that 3 years in prison would be absolutely nothing for him. Knowing what has happened to Hope Sykes, I would expect his sentence to be more like 15 years. It appears to me at the very least that the old boy did help cover up the murder of Haleigh Cummings for the better part of a year, after all.

Tommy could have requested a jury trial whose decision and sentence would have been appealable. Further, the judge can always override the sentence imposed by a jury. Hank, Jr must be a gambler because he is basically playing Russian Roulette over whether the judge is going to do him dirty. From what I have seen, justice in Putnam County does NOT really care about people doing the right thing however late. With an entrapment defense and the right jury, Tommy could have even walked. So I ask you. Is Tommy Croslin nuts?

Spiked:

LE has kept relentless pressure on the Croslins, including the parents, to squeeze Misty and Tommy like a vise, and it worked. It’s unclear if the state attorney has enough to indict in Haleigh’s murder, but they are working hard at it. And in working it, there’s been Croslin collateral damage, including small-time transgressions that have taken Hank Sr, and Misty’s mother, Lisa, to their knees, locked out of jobs and ostracized in Palatka. But from talks with Hank Sr, he sounds much better, grateful a local Pentacostal minister with a tiny church and a giant heart has rented him a room and served up extra spiritual helpings that helped deflate his suicidal feelings and instill some hope.

On Thursday, he showed up in court and told both his children that he loved them as Misty and Tommy passed him in the courthouse, where Tommy plead no contest to drug charges and Misty’s trial date on her drug charges was set for Aug. 23.
“I love, you, Misty,” he told her as she walked past.
“I love you too, Daddy,” she said.

Misty Cummings didn't say anything at all Tuesday when she appeared in a St. Johns County courtroom, where she's facing one of eight drug trafficking charges.

The other seven charges are in Putnam County.

Cummings is slated to stand trail in Palatka on all the charges at the end of August. That is, unless she makes a plea deal by the Aug. 16 deadline.

"I think the drug charges pretty much was a set up," Cummings' father, Hank Croslin Sr., told Channel 4 last week. "Misty or (Hank Croslin Jr.) wasn't drug traffickers. They just was middlemen runners. (Police) have not got none of the drug dealers out there. They just went after Misty and (Hank). It was nothing about the drugs. It was about (missing 6-year-old) Haleigh (Cummings)."

Croslin Sr. said his daughter isn't guilty of these charges, even though investigators released undercover surveillance video they said proves Cummings and her ex-husband, Ronald Cummings, and her brother, Croslin Jr., did, in fact, sell drugs.

Croslin Sr. said the case boils down to the Haleigh homicide investigation, and that investigators are just trying to get information out of Misty Cummings about what could've happened to the Satsuma girl who disappeared in February 2009. Investigators said Misty Cummings was the last person to see Haleigh.

this just struck me in the context of all the Amber Alert discussions we've had here lately... how did this fulfill the requirements for issuing an Amber Alert, since there was no description of an abductor or vehicle? this child is basically reported to have disappeared in the night...

i'm still grappling with the Amber Alert thing, i guess.

I think each state has their own "criteria" as to what constitutes an Amber Alert... I don't know that for sure and am trying to see if I can find out. here is a link to something I just read about Amber Alerts in general. I am still looking though cause I am also interested to know.

Here is Wikipedia's definition.

To avoid both false alarms and having alerts ignored as a "wolf cry", the criteria for issuing an alert are rather strict. Each state's or province's AMBER alert plan sets its own criteria for activation, meaning that there are differences between alerting agencies as to which incidents are considered to justify the use of the system. However, the U.S. Department of Justice issues the following "guidance", which most states are said to "adhere closely to

yes, so for example the Amber Alert wasn't issued for the little boy who disappeared from school in Portland because there's no indication he was taken, no description of an abductor... but i don't get how the Haleigh case is different...? because the "sitter" says she was abducted?

I don't get it either unless the police in Portland know something that would not make using the Amber Alert necessary.

they specifically said it didn't fulfill the requirements of Amber Alert because there was no suspect or vehicle description.

i understand the concept that Amber Alert is based on, but it seems to me there is a lot of individual judgement calling going on about whether to activate the system. not that it's necessarily a bad thing. i just want to understand.

I just re read the thread and read that.. I hear you on wanting to understand. I am right there with you. Maybe the Amber Alert needs to be fine tuned a little and instead of states having their own criteria it should be a national one.

How many children are abducted before anyone knows they are missing as in the case of Kyron? What I mean by that is I am sure there are many times where there isn't a vehicle or suspect description, Kids are missing hours before anyone even knows it, so these children are not on the Amber Alert. I know what I am trying to say here but somehow my written/typed words are not coming the way I intend them to. Hope that made some kind of sense.

In the case of a missing child, it is not normal for law enforcement to not have custody of photos that may reveal descriptive evidence of sexual abuse of the missing child. In the case of HaLeigh Cummings, graphic photographs of HaLeigh Cummings’ vagina exist that were taken to exhibit evidence of child sexual abuse.

Guilty plea in drug case for woman with ties to Haleigh Cummings case

She is scheduled for sentencing Sept. 1.
Posted: June 15, 2010 - 11:18am

A 44-year-old woman with connections to the case of missing Haleigh Cummings has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in St. Johns County.

Donna M. Brock of Orlando was recorded in an undercover investigator's car with Misty Croslin, who called police when 5-year-old Haleigh disappeared in February 2009.

The two were arrested during a month long sting that resulted in the arrest of five people in separate drug buys, including Haleigh's father Ronald Cummings.

Brock and Croslin were charged with trafficking at least 28 grams of oxycodone in a sale involving 155 pills for $800 in January, according to charging documents. Today, Brock pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of trafficking in between 14 to 28 grams of the drug, according to court records.

She is scheduled for sentencing Sept. 1. The reduced charge carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years, according to state guidelines.

Brock befriended Croslin during the search of Haleigh, who has still not been found and who investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office have said they believe is dead.

Bail Bondsman In Haleigh Cummings Case Under Indictment – Radio Wrap

Posted on June 15th, 2010
by Simon Barrett in Society and Culture, crime

Earlier today it was clear that there was a great deal of information that was beginning to surface that were just too complex to put into an article. Our decision was to go with an impromptu radio discussion.

The panel consisted of Simon ‘Mop Head’ Barrett, that ‘unreliable’ radio reporter from Gainsville, Florida TJ Hart, and ‘Snake Man’ William Cobra Staubs. My sincere thanks go out to Cue Ball for the new names. We all thank the loyal commenter’s here on BNN for sharing this BREAKING, although somewhat bald news, I guess Cue Ball is pissed that the Rogaine didn’t take.

This morning Donna Brock was in court, and she has plead guilty to a lesser charge. One that only carries a 15 year minimum sentence. Ouch, that magic number of 15 just keeps coming up. Donna Brock, like Hope Sykes seems to have been a bit player in the saga, yet the jail terms are hitting hard and heavy.

Tommy Croslin is still talking about being out in three years, one can only assume that he has access to the Disney Channel!

The major discussion point today was the indictments handed down to Chuck Ingram and his wife Dale. This was no overnight decision, it was a Grand Jury finding. We might have found the source of the investigation.

Does any of this help resolve the location or status of Haleigh Cummings? NO

But what it does show is that putting this case under the microscope is paying dividends. Were it not for people like the Unreliable Reporter, and The Snake Man, this case would have been closed months ago.

Instead we have the situation where some of the press have stayed with the story, we might never find Haleigh, but we certainly have done our very best to keep her name in the headlines, and bring justice where it is due.

You can listen to the program here.

Signed: Mop Head, Unreliable, and Snake Man

Croslin co-defendant pleads to drug charge

Donna Brock arrested with Croslin in undercover sting
Posted: June 16, 2010 - 12:03am

A woman who befriended the last person to see HaLeigh Cummings alive in February 2009 is facing at least 15 years in prison after pleading Tuesday to a drug trafficking charge.

Donna Michelle Brock, 44, who was arrested with Misty Croslin in an undercover operation in January, pleaded no contest to dealing between 14 and 28 grams of oxycodone.

The first-degree felony carries a maximum punishment of 30 years in prison. It calls for a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years and a $100,000 fine.

Brock stood unmoved with little change in expression as Assistant State Attorney Jackie Roys explained the terms of the plea offer.

Brock originally had been charged with trafficking in 28 grams to 30 kilograms of oxycodone. The minimum mandatory on that charge is 25 years and a $500,000 fine.

Defense attorney Michael P. Hines said he hoped to give the judge reasons to go below the minimum mandatory at his client's Sept. 1 sentencing.

St. Johns Circuit Judge Wendy W. Berger said she didn't believe she had the authority to do that but would research it.

She said she at least would be willing to consider anything Hines could offer to make sure the sentence stayed near 15 years.

Brock also agreed to testify truthfully against "any co-defendants" if the prosecution asks her.

That means Croslin, her only co-defendant.

Croslin, 18, is tentatively scheduled to go to trial in August on the same charge Brock originally faced -- trafficking in 28 grams to 30 kilograms of oxycodone.

She also faces another seven trafficking charges in Palatka.

Circuit Judge Terry LaRue in Palatka told her on June 3 that Aug. 16 is her "last-chance plea date" to work out a deal with the state on those charges.

Croslin was Ronald Cummings' live-in girlfriend and was babysitting for HaLeigh Cummings and her younger brother when the little girl disappeared from her father's Satsuma mobile home the night of Feb. 9, 2009.

Croslin and Cummings were married March 12, one month after the child disappeared.

They were divorced in October.

Brock has been identified as a former volunteer with Equusearch Mounted Search and Recovery in Dickinson, Texas, just northwest of Galveston. HaLeigh Cummings' family called on the group shortly after the 5-year-old child's disappearance.

Tim Miller, owner of Equusearch, later became openly critical of Croslin, insisting she knew more than she was telling investigators.

Last October, a driver on Interstate 4 called 911 last October and said the driver of a car Croslin was riding in had threatened her with a handgun as they raced down the roadway.

A Seminole County Sheriff's deputy had the car pull off at the Lake Mary exit.

Croslin and Brock were handcuffed and the car searched. They were released when no weapon was found.

Three others were also arrested during the January sting operation: Ronald Cummings; Croslin's brother, Hank Thomas "Tommy" Croslin Jr.; and Cummings' cousin, Hope A. Sykes.

Sykes was sentenced April 26 to 15 years in prison.

Tommy Croslin pleaded no contest to trafficking and drug possession on June 3. He is scheduled to be sentenced this summer.

Ronald Cummings is negotiating for a 15-year sentence on five trafficking charges in exchange for testimony at any future trial.

His ex-wife is now the only defendant left who has not pled.

Law enforcement officers have repeatedly denied that the trafficking arrests were designed as a way to put pressure on the defendants to talk about the little girl's disappearance.

Donna Brock, 44, had been charged with one count of trafficking prescription narcotics of at least 28 grams, a offense that carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years, said Chris Kelly, spokesman for the Seventh Circuit State Attorney's Office.

However, Brock pleaded guilty to a count that involved 14 to 28 grams and carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years.

Kelly said a condition of Brock's plea agreement with prosecutors is that she testify against her co-defendants if called upon. Kelly had no other comment on the plea deal.

Police: Bone Found In River Not Haleigh's
Putnam County Investigators Searched River In April For Missing Girl
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Putnam County investigators said a human bone that was found in the St. Johns River in April did not belong to Haleigh Cummings.

The bone is that of a long-dead Native American, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said the discovery is not that unusual, given the number of Native American burial grounds in Putnam County.

The determination was made by forensic anthropologist Mike Warren, the director of the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory at the University of Florida, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators searched the river for several days in April in connection with the Haleigh case. They said they found two cinder blocks, which were sent to a lab to be tested.

At the time, Sheriff Jeff Hardy said Haleigh, the 5-year-old girl who disappeared from her Satsuma home in February 2009, was likely dead, and the investigation had moved from a missing person case to a homicide investigation. In a news release Monday, the Sheriff's Office said the case is still considered an active criminal investigation.

Misty Cummings, Haleigh's former stepmother and the last person investigators said saw Haleigh the night she vanished, was seen at the river being questioned by investigators during their search.

Investigators said they got a tip that led them to the Shell Harbor Road Boat Ramp, a place they had not searched before. Sources have told Channel 4 the tip came from Hank Croslin Jr., Cummings' brother.

Attorney: Tommy Croslin Being Mistreated in Putnam Jail

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The attorney for Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. has filed a motion saying his client is being mistreated in jail.

Attorney James Werter said Croslin, who is being held on drug charges but is a notable figure in the search for Haleigh Cummings, was taken out of protective custody last week and that his situation deteriorated.

In a motion for Order to Show Cause and Order of Prohibition Request for Expedited Hearing filed with the State Attorney's office and delivered to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Werter said Croslin's new accommodation in the Putnam County Correctional Facility has "inadequate ventilation" and "defective plumbing."

Werter's motion also stated that Croslin was forcibly removed from his cell and denied access to his attorney by detectives who harassed and threatened Croslin.

READ THE COMPLETE MOTION

According to the motion, the detectives said they would charge Croslin with felony murder in the Haleigh Cummings case if he didn't talk, and said they would spread rumors about him to the general population at the jail.

Werter called those "obvious violations" of Croslin's civil rights, and called for the detectives to be held in contempt.

He also wanted the court to establish that detectives could not have contact with Croslin unless it was previously established in writing with Werter.

In court in early June, pretrial hearing, Croslin pleaded no contest to one count of possession, a third degree felony, and to one count of trafficking in hydrocodone, a first degree felony.

His next court date is July 6. His sentencing date has not been set.

I don't know why they would take a plea either, I was just guessing. You would think they would want to put him and the rest of them where they could keep on eye on them. I bet the crime rate would go down!!

I've read in other places that he had some pull inside the sheriff's dept, like he knows something about somebody, and this always gets him off as easy as possible, since you would think that he's been in enough trouble to be sentenced as a habitual offender. Just rumor, I know, but he always seems to land sunny side up. Or at least as sunny side up as he possibly can.

Parents of Misty Croslin Arrested on Cocaine Charges

Hank Thomas Croslin Sr. and Lisa Carmen Croslin are behind bars in the Putnam County on drug charges.

Friday night, the parents of Misty Croslin and Tommy Croslin who are in jail for drug trafficking charges, were arrested on charges of purchasing cocaine and violation of probation.

Misty Croslin was babysitting then 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings at the child's Satsuma home when she was abducted in February of 2009. Since then, investigators maintain that Misty knows more about what happened to the child than she has told police. Investigators have been critical of her stories citing numerous inconsistencies.

Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin, Hope Sykes and Donna Brock along with the father of missing Haleigh Cummings' father, Ronald Cummings were arrested in January on charges of drug trafficking. All but Ronald and Misty have pleaded no contest to the charges. Ronald Cummings' attorney is negotiating a plea deal that would lessen his client's time in prison to 15 years while Misty's trials in both Putnam and St. Johns counties are scheduled for dates in August.

Hank Croslin Jr. Sentenced To 15 Years
Croslin Pleaded No Contest To Drug Charges
PALATKA, Fla. -- One of the key figures in the Haleigh Cummings investigation was sentenced Friday morning on drug charges.

Hank Croslin Jr., who pleaded no contest to two drug trafficking charges after being arrested in January during a drug sting operation, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, 10 years of probation and a $50,000 fine. He will serve a concurrent five-year sentence for possession of narcotics.

Prosecutors were hoping he would be sentenced to the maximum 30 years.

Croslin was arrested in January, along with his sister, Misty Cummings, his ex-brother-in-law, Ronald Cummings, and two other people.

Croslin's parents, who are also in custody on drug charges, were in the courtroom for the sentencing.

An Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent, a private investigator, Croslin's ex-wife and his father, Hank Croslin Sr., all testified Friday. His father painted a picture of his son growing up with drug-addicted parents and soon succumbing to drug addiction himself.

"I started off smoking marijuana when I was about 12 years old," Croslin Jr. said.

Authorities said the drug charges the family members are facing are not related to Haleigh's disappearance. Ronald Cummings' 5-year-old daughter went missing from her Satsuma home in February 2009. Misty Cummings, briefly Ronald's wife, was the last person known to have seen Haleigh
The kindergartner's body has not been found, but the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said earlier this year it believes she was killed and considers the ongoing case a homicide investigation.

Haleigh's family was in court hoping something would be mentioned about the missing girl's case. While her name was mentioned, not many details were divulged.

Annette Sykes said she was in attendance wishing to hear something about her great-granddaughter.
[...]
"We want everybody to realize that that child is still alive, and we want them to help us keep looking for her," Sykes said. "Nothing would make us happier than to have our baby with us, any happier than for somebody to bring our baby home. That's all we want."

Haleigh's family said a vigil will be held for her on Tuesday, signifying 18 months since she disappeared. The family said it will have a balloon release for Haleigh on her birthday, Aug. 17.http://www.news4jax.com/news/24534837/detail.html

SWAT team searches Antioch home where Misty Croslin's cousin lives

On Sunday, police searched an Antioch, Tennessee home where Joe Overstreet, the cousin of Misty Croslin, lives.

Several months ago, Overstreet was questioned about the disappearance of missing Satsuma, Florida Haleigh Cummings, who Misty was taking care of on the night she vanished in February 2009.

According to WSMV, the home in the 1500 block of Antioch Pike was searched for narcotics and stolen goods. However, in April Florida authorities descended on the house to speak to Overstreet about Haleigh’s disappearance.

Sunday’s search was prompted by a tip given to police. Officers detained and questioned two men, but would not confirm whether one of them was Overstreet and at press, no charges had been filed.

I saw this on HLN and then found this article. On HLN, they showed Misty in court. She has gotten so heavy!!!! I'm wondering how, since her family is all in jail. They can't be sending her money for cheesy doodles. Can lack of drugs really make you gain that much weight? Isn't oxy a downer? I would think it would make you feel like not being very active. I mean, I could see her gaining all that weight if she quit doing speed, but not downers.....

Like the sound of 210 years.....

(CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/08/16/florida.missing.girl.croslin/index.html)) -- Misty Croslin, the last person known to see a 5-year-old Florida girl before she was reported missing on February 9, 2009, faces a sentence of up to 210 years in prison after pleading no contest Monday to unrelated drug charges.
Croslin entered no contest pleas to seven counts of trafficking prescription drugs before a Putnam County, Florida, judge, said Chris Kelly, a spokesman for the state attorney's office. Each first-degree count carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison.

The attorney for Misty Croslin, 18, a key figure in the disappearance of missing Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings, said Tuesday that his client told authorities her cousin attacked the girl while Croslin hid under bedcovers with Haleigh's little brother, Ronald Cummings Jr.

Attorney Robert Fields said Croslin's cousin Joseph Overstreet came to the house to get a gun. The gun wasn't there, so “the girl, Haleigh, became a substitute.”

“She covered up and held (Ronald Jr.) while Haleigh screamed. She was scared,” Fields said of Croslin.

After five or six minutes, the screams stopped. Fields said Croslin told authorities she heard the door to the van in which Overstreet came to the house slide open and then shut before he drove off.

Overstreet, who lives in Tennessee, has denied involvement. Putnam County authorities have interviewed Overstreet but would not give details.

Fields related Croslin's discussions with authorities Tuesday morning after Croslin changed her plea from not guilty to no contest on one drug-trafficking count in St. Johns County.

Misty Croslin attorney: She heard Haleigh Cummings being attacked before she vanished

........Croslin has told investigators she was at the mobile home in Satsuma in Putnam County and heard the attack then heard a van door outside open and close, Robert Fields said following a hearing on a prescription drug charge Croslin faces in St. Johns County.

The five- to six-minute attack happened after Croslin's cousin, Joe Overstreet, who was visiting from Tennessee, came to the mobile home looking for a machine gun belonging to Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings.

The gun wasn't there, Fields said

"Haleigh was a substitute," he said.

He said Croslin hid beneath the sheet holding 3-year-old Ronald Cummings Jr.

At one point, Croslin saw Overstreet either covering Haleigh with something or putting her in a black bag, Fields said...........

Okay. I can't deal with the amount of "inbredness" in that picture. All that he is missing is a banjo.

And I don't believe her story for one minute. Why would he just attack the baby because there was no gun there? It doesn't make any fucking sense. Why would he not just attack her? He would just let her "hide" under the covers?

And even so.....if it is true why did not she not protect the baby and beat the shit out of him with her own banjo?

These people make me want to take a shower.

And as far as the weight gain...she would have been skinny from drug abuse. Oxy is like heroin when snorted and heroin addicts are rail thin. Plus prison food is as processed, sugar laden, starchy, and disgusting as it gets.

Judge LaRue patiently explained Croslin’s options and asked if she understood the charges against her. She said she did. “Ultimately it was her decision,” said Fields. “Before court, I explained what the outcome of a possible trial would be, and it wouldn’t have made any difference in her sentence.”

Croslin pleaded no contest to seven prescription drug trafficking charges in court Monday. In answering questions asked through her attorney by The Florida Times-Union, Croslin said she is saddened by the disappearance of HaLeigh Cummings and wishes she had stayed away from HaLeigh's father, Ronald Cummings, who is charged in several of the same drug cases.

Lewis said Cummings is a possible witness against Croslin, though no decision about that has been made. Cummings will be in Putnam County court Friday, possibly with a deal for a 15-year sentence.

Asked what she would have done differently in the past, Croslin said she would not have become involved with Cummings, Fields said.

"She would have stayed away from Ronald, as everyone told her to do," Fields said.

Asked how she thinks about HaLeigh, whose seventh birthday is today, Fields said Croslin is saddened by the case but "loved HaLeigh and always has." He said she has cooperated with investigators.

Fields said one question he would not answer is why Croslin was involved in drug dealing while the investigation into HaLeigh's disappearance was ongoing.

Haleigh Cummings Babysitter Misty Croslin Pleads Nolo 2.0

Posted on August 17th, 2010 by Simon Barrett

Tuesday saw Misty Croslin back in court, this time in St. Augustine. This was o face yet another drug trafficking charge, one that carries a 25 year mandatory minimum. Her plea of Nolo should come as no surprise. However that is not to say that the hearing did not have its fair share of surprises.

The biggest surprise is that the pre-sentance hearing has been set for October/9 and will be held IN CONJUNCTION with the Putnam County charges that she pled to yesterday. This ‘joining’ of the two cases opens an interesting door. Does this mean that attorney Fields can now play his Youthful Offender card and have it stick across both cases? Could Misty Croslin score a measly six years and walk away from these charges spending far less jail time than her accomplices?

The second surprise was to be found in the audience. In attendance were both Crystal Sheffield, her mother Marie Griffis and another unknown female. Our ******* who was in the court room told us that throughout the hearing Crystal looked distinctly nervous, wringing her hands, and tapping her feet.
I find it somewhat curious that the Sheffield’s did not attend the recent vigil for missing Haleigh Cummings, yet would turn up for for Misty Croslin’s court appearance in a case completely unrelated to the search for Haleigh Cummings.
We are still waiting for a report on the court appearances of Hank and Lisa Croslin. We will bring you an update as soon as we have it.

Croslin Pleads No Contest in St Johns, Says She Heard Haleigh Cummings AttackPosted on August 17th, 2010 by Simon Barrett in Breaking News, crimeRead 78 times. This just in from our friend TJ Hart of The Sky 97.3 - Simon

The woman babysitting a Florida girl the night she went missing has reportedly told investigators she heard Haleigh Cummings being attacked before she vanished.

Misty Croslin’s attorney Robert Fields said Tuesday that the18-year-old told investigators the attack came after a cousin came to the Satsuma mobile home looking for a gun belonging to Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings.

Fields said “Haleigh was a substitute” for the missing gun.

Neither Fields nor the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office immediately returned our phone messages or e-mails.

The sheriff’s office has questioned Croslin’s credibility, saying investigators don’t believe 5-year-old Haleigh was abductedby a stranger in February 2009.

Croslin was in court in St Johns County where pleaded no contest Tuesday to drug trafficking charges. Under normal circumstances, the charge carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison. However, Fields said he will make the case for youthful offender status at her sentencing, which is set for Oct. 8.

In this case, investigators found she had 155 oxycodone pills, with a weight of 70.7 grams and a value of $800. The plea entered on one count in St. Augustine Tuesday morning mirrors the no contest pleas entered on several drug-trafficking charges in Putnam County on Monday.

This is the media release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office:

Date: August 17, 2010

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous requests for an official comment regarding a statement made earlier today by Attorney Robert Fields. For those outlets not aware, Attorney Fields is legal counsel for Misty Croslin.

Attorney Fields made a statement to media outlets that after Misty Croslin’s arrest, she informed investigators what happened the night Haleigh Cummings went missing, and what happened to Haleigh Cummings.

Since the onset of this investigation, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has been asked to comment on information obtained during the investigation. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has always taken the firm stance that any information obtained in this case is not to be released, and any investigative strategies will not be discussed. The Haleigh Cummings investigation is far too important to be jeopardized by releasing this type of sensitive information.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will not be participating in any formal interviews or providing statements regarding this morning’s events at this time. The main concern of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is finding Haleigh Cummings and returning her home to her family.

Report: Misty Croslin is lying about abduction, grandma says

2:09 p.m. EDT, August 18, 2010

Haleigh Cummings' grandmother says she doesn't believe what Misty Croslin has told investigators about the night the Putnam County girl vanished in February 2009, news4jax.com is reporting.

Haleigh's grandmother, Teresa Neves, said Croslin's allegation that her cousin, Joe Overstreet, put the screaming girl in a bag and took her away, sounds like a lie.

Overstreet's attorney has denied his client had anything to do with the girl's disappearance.

"How could a 5-year-old scream like that and neighbors not hear? It just doesn't add up," Neves said today, according to news4jax.com.

Attorney: Haleigh was carried away in a bag

By Kristin Chambers
Published: Wednesday, August 18, 2010 1:51 AM EDT

ST. AUGUSTINE - Misty Croslin hid beneath a sheet holding onto Haleigh's younger brother as she listened to the now 7-year-old missing girl being attacked before she disappeared, her attorney said Tuesday.

Attorney Robert Fields said Croslin's cousin, Joe Overstreet, showed up at the Satsuma trailer looking for a gun that belonged to Haleigh's father. When he couldn't find it, he took Haleigh instead.

"The gun wasn't there so he basically went towards Misty and may have wrestled with her and then he turned and grabbed Haleigh," Fields said. "At that point, Misty hid under the covers with Junior, Joe did something for a few minutes and Misty didn't hear Haleigh make any more noises, and she saw Joe take Haleigh out of the house in a black bag."

She then listened as a van door opened and closed outside, with Haleigh never to be seen again.

"She did say it appeared he was under the influence," Fields said.

Fields offered this scenario to reporters after Misty Croslin pleased no contest Tuesday to drug trafficking charges in St. Johns County.

Croslin's family has said Overstreet was at the Satsuma mobile home the night Haleigh disappeared in February 2009. He was arrested on drug charges last week in Tennessee, but he has never been charged or named as a suspect in Haleigh's disappearance.

His attorney, Shawn P. Sirgo of Nashville, Tenn., said Overstreet had nothing to do with the child's disappearance and dismissed Croslin's account.

"I don't believe anything she said," he said.

Fields said 18-year-old Croslin described the events to investigators following her drug arrest for trafficking in hydrocodone in January. He said her brother, Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr., 24, has told investigators a similar story.

Tuesday morning, Croslin pleaded no contest to one remaining drug trafficking charge in St. Johns County, for which she will receive a minimum of 25 years.

The charge originated from a deal made with undercover officers on Jan. 8 at the Flying J in north St. Augustine, in which Croslin was said to have sold 155 oxycodone pills worth $800.

She pleaded no contest to seven other drug trafficking charges in Putnam County on Monday, which she faces up to 240 years.

Croslin will be sentenced in both St. Johns and Putnam counties in October.

Others arrested in the month-long undercover investigation in January include her brother, Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, 26, his cousin, Hope Sykes, 18, and a former Equusearch volunteer, Donna Brock.

A pre-sentence investigation has been ordered for Croslin, and Fields is preparing a push to have sentenced as a youthful offender.

In response to Fields' comments on Tuesday morning, a spokesman for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said the department would not release any information about the case.

"The Haleigh Cummings investigation is far too important to be jeopardized by releasing this type of sensitive information," Lt. Johnny Greenwood said.

Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh's mother, was present for Croslin's hearing in St. Augustine.

"I just wanted her to see my face," Sheffield told the Daily News afterward. "I wanted her to look me in my eyes and see how I hurt because I don't have my baby."

Sheffield said that it was Croslin's fault that Haleigh was missing.

"I think she should rot in jail," Sheffield said.

As she wept for Haleigh outside the courthouse, Sheffield said she was upset that other members of the family were acting as if they had a deep connection with her daughter.

"They don't have the connection like I have. I carried her for nine months and gave birth to her - not them," Sheffield said.

Marie Griffis, Haleigh's maternal grandmother, said it was time for others to come forward with information.

"There's a lot of people in jail that knows what happened to Haleigh, but there's also a lot of people that know elsewhere that is not in jail, and they need to come forward," Griffis said. "They need to close this case so we can find our baby."

Authorities have declared the Haleigh case a homicide investigation, but the child's relatives say they continue to hope she will be found alive.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Tommy Croslin's Attorney Says Croslin said Haleigh Likely Strangled

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Tommy Croslin, one of three people believed to have been in a mobile home the night Haleigh Cummings disappeared, told investigators he thinks she was strangled by his cousin, his attorney said today.

Attorney James Werter, representing Croslin, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison this month, said Croslin told authorities in April that he believed Joe Overstreet strangled Haleigh after losing his temper in February 2009.

Overstreet, Croslin's cousin, was reportedly looking for a gun that belonged to Haleigh's father Ronald, but couldn't find it.

Croslin, who said he was with Overstreet at the time, went on to say Overstreet lost his temper and went after Haleigh.

Werter said Croslin told this information to authorities in April, which led to a re-intensified search for the missing girl in the water near their Satsuma home.

That story meshes with what Tommy's sister told authorities as well.

Earlier this week, after the "no contest" plea by Misty Croslin on her drug charges, her attorney told Misty's side of what happened.

Misty was in the home babysitting Haleigh and her younger brother.

She said Tommy and Overstreet came in looking for the gun, then went after Haleigh while Misty and the younger brother hid under the covers.

Misty said Haleigh was screaming and fighting back, then became quiet, and she next heard the door to the house open and close, then the door to a van open and close.

She said she saw Overstreet put Haleigh in a bag.

Haleigh has been the subject of an Amber Alert ever since.

The information about Tommy came after Werter spoke about Tommy's reaction to his prison sentence.

He said Croslin was "shocked" at his recent sentence of 15 years in prison on two drug charges, one for possession and one for trafficking.

Werter plans to appeal the sentence.

He said Tommy and his sister have had no contact since their arrest in January on the drug charges for which Tommy was sentenced, and the fact that both of them tell the same story means it is true.

Misty Croslin entered pleas of "no contest" this week to her drug charges, and is scheduled for sentencing in October.

Was Haleigh Strangled in Trailer?

Tune in Nancy Grace Friday night (just switched) at 8 and 10 p on HLN when we’ll be discussing the latest revelation in the mystery of missing and presumed murdered Haleigh Cummings: Tommy Croslin’s claim his Tennessee cousin, Joe Overstreet, strangled her in her father’s Satsuma, Florida where he dropped by to steal a prized machine gun Ronald Cummings had showed off a few days earlier.

more... http://www.artharris.com/

http://www.artharris.com/2010/08/19/was-haleigh-strangled-in-trailer/#more-4614

Werter said Putnam County investigators taunted Croslin he’d get convicted of accessory to murder charges, and get strapped down for a lethal injection if he didn’t reveal more. That’s why he ordered him silent.

“My advice to him is, ‘Don’t talk,’” Werter told News4Jax Alexis Weed. “They’re threatening felony murder charges. How can I let him talk if he says he held the door open for Joe when they carried Haleigh’s body out of the house. I can’t make him an accessory after the facts of these little threats.”

Werter told me he believed prosecutors could have gotten more details from Croslin had he been offered immunity, as requested. But no deal was on the table. One source tells me, however, he may still have a chance to cough up more before he goes off to prison to begin serving 15 years on a recent drug trafficking conviction and argue he’s provided substantial cooperation.

Ronald Cummings, whose daughter has been missing for more than 18 months, pleaded guilty this morning to three drug trafficking charges and agreed to testify for the state in future cases involving the drug cases or the missing girl.

Cummings, 26, will be sentenced Sept. 24 and is expected to get 15 years in prison.

Following the hearing, Cummings' attorney said his client is having a hard time believing accusations this week that his daughter, Haleigh, was abducted and killed by a man visiting from Tennessee.

Charges dropped against Lisa Croslin

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The State Attorney's Office has dropped the drug charges against Lisa Croslin, Misty Cummings' mother.

Action News has learned the charges were dropped because of lack of evidence.

Last month, Croslin was arrested allegedly trying to buy cocaine.

She was put in jail with a $5,000 bond.

Lisa Croslin's daughter, Misty Cummings, is one of the last people to have seen Haleigh Cummings before she disappeared in February of 2009. This week, Misty's attorney said she did see what happened to Haleigh the night she vanished from her home in Satsuma. According to her attorney, Misty heard Haleigh being attacked by her cousin, Joe Overstreet. No one has been arrested in connection to Haleigh's disappearance.

In 18-month-old missing girl case, time in jail for key figures could lead to break

By Cindy Swirko
Staff writer

Last Modified: Friday, August 20, 2010 at 7:40 p.m.

Soon, most of the key figures in the February 2009 disappearance of Haleigh Cummings will be in prison doing time on unrelated drug convictions.

Locked away with them will be whatever secrets they still might hold that could solve the case.

But legal experts say unraveling the mystery could hinge on classic legal tactics in which key figures feed investigators more information in the hopes of receiving a break in court.

After authorities in January arrested Misty Croslin and her brother Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. on drug charges, the two gave a new version of how Haleigh, then age 5, vanished from her Satsuma home.

But still, no arrests have been made in the girl's disappearance, and Haleigh has never been found.

Investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office have declined to discuss the evidence they have gathered and whether they have been able to connect any suspects to the crime. They also have declined to say whether they believe the Croslins, given the way their stories have changed over the past 18 months.

Now, the hope of Haleigh's family is that if the Croslins have anything more to say, stewing in prison could bring it out.

"They just need to say what they know," Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, said Friday. "I just want my baby back."

Attorneys for the Croslins this week related what their clients told authorities about events the night Haleigh disappeared.

Misty and Tommy Croslin contend a cousin, Joe Overstreet, came to the Cummings home to steal a gun. The gun wasn't there, so he attacked Haleigh and took her from the home, attorneys said.

Crazy it is!!! Now here's a few more tid-bits to add into the mix. I did not hear this myself. Art Harris and some other guests (not sure who) were at Jane Velez Mitchell tonight, they stated;

Per AH & GM Flo, Misty says she slept with a gun under her pillow every night except that night. RC took all the guns.

and

HaLeigh and Jr sleep in the car at times at PDM while RC worked because Misty was not always there to babysit. The 3 day binge was not the 1st time Misty had left.

and

Art Harris says that sources tells him that RC called Misty 98 times the night of 2/9/2009

As soon as JVM's transcript is available, I'll try to post it.

Ronald Cummings pleads guilty

By Kristin Chambers
Published: Saturday, August 21, 2010 1:03 AM EDT

Ronald Cummings, father of Haleigh Cummings, pleaded guilty Friday to three of five drug trafficking charges he faces in exchange for his testimony and cooperation involving the case of his missing daughter.

He has also agreed to provide the state with "substantial assistance" in the drug case, which led to his arrest along with four others last January following a month-long undercover narcotics bust.

"I don't think there is anything else he could give them," defense attorney Terry Shoemaker said.

"We have met with them numerous times and answered all their questions, but you never know," Shoemaker said. "If there ever was a trial in Haleigh's disappearance then they could ask him to come back and testify for that."

Walking into the courtroom, Cummings smiled as he glanced at his family sitting in the front row.

His mother, Teresa Neves, wiped her eyes as he pleaded to the three charges, which will give him a minimum mandatory of 15 years.

The charges stem from three transactions in which he sold 39.7 grams of hydrocodone worth $465 to undercover officers.

Circuit Judge Terry LaRue set Cummings' sentencing for Sept. 24.

Others arrested in the undercover operation include his cousin, Hope Sykes, 18; his ex-wife, Misty Croslin, 18; and her brother, Hank Croslin Jr, 24.

Videos secretly recorded during the transactions serve as the state's key evidence.

"It's not like there is a lot they could argue or fight in trial, so the evidence against them is what made everybody plea," Shoemaker said.

Misty Croslin was the last person to see Haleigh before the 5-year-old disappeared the night of Feb. 10, 2009.

Cummings was working a night shift at PDM Bridge in Palatka when Croslin reported Haleigh missing to police at 3:27 a.m.

Croslin married and later divorced Cummings, and was later caught on camera dealing drugs with him after they split.

She has also been called "the key to the investigation" several times by law enforcement due to her inconsistence accounts of what happened that night.

No suspects have been named in the case.

On Monday, accusations from Misty Croslin's attorney came out that her Tennessee cousin, Joe Overstreet, took Haleigh when he couldn't find a gun that belonged to Cummings.

Croslin's attorney, Robert Fields, said Croslin fought with Overstreet at the Satsuma trailer and then hid under the covers as she heard Haleigh struggle before the 5-year-old was stashed in a black bag and taken away in a van.

Fields said Croslin Jr. gave investigators a similar story to investigators last spring, which triggered a three-day search of the St. Johns River near the Shell Harbour boat ramp.

Nothing was found.

Shoemaker said his client is skeptical of the story.

"Ronald has a hard time understanding why someone would go to steal a gun and steal a child instead," Shoemaker said. "I think he has a feeling that there's still more that needs to come out."

When asked about Cummings' relationship with Overstreet, Shoemaker said the two did not get along.

"He said it was just one of those where he didn't know him but didn't have good feelings about him," Shoemaker said.

Overstreet was arrested in Tennessee on drug charges last week.

Authorities have questioned Overstreet on several occasions following Haleigh's disappearance. His attorney said Overstreet had no role in the disappearance.

Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh's mother, was also present at Friday's court hearing, and said afterward that it's time that someone talks.

"I don't care if they are in prison or not, they just need to tell what happened," Sheffield said. "The truth needs to come out so my baby can come home."

Putnam County authorities said what began as a child abduction case is now a homicide investigation, but several of Haleigh's family members insist they believe the child is alive.

Both Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield have been ruled out as suspects, authorities said.

Damn, everyone is getting 15 years!

What does that equate to in Florida? Here, you are eligible for parole after 50%. There is no good time or any other way to shave off some time.

Anyone know if Florida got good time and when people become eligible for parole?

I can't remember right now what TV show I heard it on, but just this week I heard that Florida has a mandatory 85% rule. There is no time off for "good behavior", unless you want to call the 15% time off. If you misbehave, you have to serve the full sentence. If you are good, you have to serve 85%. So, following that rule, these folks are all looking at 12 years and 9 months in jail.

Ronald Cummings, father of missing girl Haleigh Cummings, sentenced to prison on drug charges

PALATKA, Florida -- The father of the little girl who vanished in 2009, sparking an Amber alert that thrust the town of Satsuma into the national spotlight has learned his sentence on drug charges.

Ronald Cummings agreed to plead guilty to three of the five drug cases against him in August, in exchange for two of the cases being dropped.

This morning, he was sentenced to three years and a $50,000 fine, 15 years and a $100,000 fine, and 15 years in the three cases, to be served concurrently.

Sweet Deal?

Ronald Cummings was sentenced to 15 years in prison on drug trafficking charges Friday in Putnam County Circuit Court, as Circuit Judge Terry Larue ratified a plea deal worked out earlier with prosecutors—dropping two of five counts with 25 year minimums and fining the father of missing five year old Haleigh Cummings a total of $250,000.

He will serve three counts of 15 years, to run concurrently, that break down this way: three years and a $50,000 fine on one charge, another 15 years and a $100,000 fine on another, and 15 years and $100,000 fine on a third. He faced a possible 70 years if sentenced to the max on all charges.

LEVI PAGE: Good evening, I am your host Levi Page. Breaking news in the case of missing Satsuma Florida girl, HaLeigh Cummings. The 6-year-old beauty vanished from her home while under the care of a teenager who just got off a drug, sex, and alcohol spree. Misty Croslin failed multiple polygraphs and police publicly say she holds the key to what happened to this missing child. Misty Croslin, along with the father of HaLeigh, Ronald Cummings, is busted for drug trafficking. An undercover police dash cam captured it all on tape. Cummings is caught callously talking about how drug dealers didn’t murder his daughter. Cummings snags a deal and gives Police new information about his missing daughter and gets a plea deal but the plea deal ain’t so sweet. Today in Court, Cummings own mother takes the stand and cries for the Judge and says that Ron is “A good man and that his two children, HaLeigh and Junior, need him and begged the Judge for leniency. If his children “needed him”, why was he selling drugs instead of searching for his daughter and tending to his young son Junior? And 2 children, doesn’t Ron’s mother realize Ron has a third child, a disabled child that he has nothing to do with? Can you say, “Deadbeat dad?” Tonight the crying jag of Teresa Neves didn’t work on Judge Terry LaRue as Cummings is slapped with a 15-year sentence and a whopping fine. Plus tonight, exclusive, as we go to air, I have just learned that Misty Croslin today went under a long, grueling interrogation by LE and you won’t believe what cops are telling her. Is Misty Croslin on the verge of cracking and saying what happened to this missing child? With us tonight is Holly Hughes, she is a former prosecutor and current defense attorney. She is based out of Atlanta, and very well known in that jurisdiction. She has prosecuted and defended violent crimes. She is very familiar with these cases. Holly, thank you for joining us tonight.

HOLLY HUGHES: Absolutely, it is a pleasure to be with you Levi.

LEVI PAGE: Holly, what do you think about the Judge hearing the cries, the begs of Ronald’s own mother for leniency? The Judge isn’t buying it and slaps him with 15-years in prison the minimum mandatory.

HOLLY HUGHES: Absolutely, these Judges’ have seen it all and heard it all Levi and the defendant’s mom getting up there and saying he is a good boy means nothing. Of course she is going to say that, it is her own kid. So the fact that she is up there and weeping and sobbing, let me tell you something, this is nothing new for this Judge. He is going with the deal that was worked out by the State, he is trusting his prosecutors that they have done the right thing here in that they have gotten some good information from this guy, but I mean clearly, this woman is lying through her teeth that he is such a good daddy. As you pointed out in your opening, that while his daughter is missing, he is out there slinging dope: now he’s really dedicated to searching for her.

LEVI PAGE: Yeah and everybody if you go to artharris.com, Art Harris published a new picture of Misty and Ronald Cummings and this is a month after his child vanishes: Ronald Cummings marries the main suspect in the case, marries her and takes off to New York for a honeymoon and they are literally Holly licking each other, touching tongues, and smiling for the camera. This doesn’t look like a father whose child just vanished and is missing and can possibly be in harm’s way.

HOLLY HUGHES: Absolutely, this picture is so inappropriate on so many levels Levi, but it gives you insight into the mindset of these people. Now you know when your child goes missing, that is a horrible, horrible event in your life, and no, you’re not going to cry 24/7: it’s just not possible. You know there will be times when you are going to smile and when the camera may catch you having a little laugh, that is all perfectly normal, but what we see in this photograph is just the inappropriate public behavior of these two and it goes to that mindset of we don’t have to conform to what everybody else does, we don’t have to follow the rules, we don’t have to behave in public, and it just goes to show you what they think of society’s norms and the way people should behave and the laws, I mean they don’t care, they know they are under scrutiny, they have got to know that people are watching yet they are out taking these kinds of photographs in public and then allowing them to be published: letting family members have them and go ahead and give them to investigative journalists. So it is a look into their mindset and it is just disgusting, and I got to tell you those are not the kind of pictures I want to see.

LEVI PAGE: And Holly what is interesting is that Ronald Cummings according to the Florida Times Union very early on in this case, I have a quote right here from Law Enforcement, it says “Cummings has cut off interviews with investigators, besides “No I didn’t have nothing to do with my child being missing, what do you say?” he asked. Major Gary Bowling, Director of Law Enforcement for the Department, said detectives would like to interview Cummings but have been resisted. That is from the Florida Times Union. Holly, we have seen Misty Croslin talk, Misty Croslin pointing the finger at her Tennessee cousin, Joe Overstreet, who she said molested her, has threatened her, she says she is afraid of him, she says he is crazy, he is a criminal. She says that he took HaLeigh, killed her, dumped HaLeigh in the St. John’s River all because of a fight over a machine gun that he had with HaLeigh’s father, Ronald Cummings. Misty’s talked, Tommy Croslin has talked. Tommy Croslin telling police that he seen Joe Overstreet strangle HaLeigh, that he seen Joe Overstreet take HaLeigh, put her in the van, drive HaLeigh to the St. John’s River, tie her down with a cement block and yellow rope and dump her in the river. That is Tommy Croslin talking, but the one person we haven’t gotten a story out of is Ronald Cummings, and I think Police gave him a deal put him under a proffer agreement because we know there was a proffer session with Ronald Cummings and they wanted him to talk: they wanted him to talk because they have yet to hear from him and this was a way to get information about the case they haven’t been able to get from him.

HOLLY HUGHES: Well absolutely I mean Levi that is a mouthful so let’s just go back to the beginning and address one issue at a time. First of all, if your child is missing and you have nothing to do with it, you are absolutely cooperating with the Police. You are down at the Police Station every single day, working the last nerve of the detective. You are in his face, you go “what are you doing today, what is happening with this case, where is my daughter? Why aren’t you out working? Why are you sitting in this station house? What can I do to help?” You are calling local media, you’re saying “Hey keep my daughter’s picture out there. Put her on the 6 o’clock news, put her on the 8 o’clock news, you are working like a madman to get that child back. You are not refusing to help. I mean you and I both know Marc Klaas.

LEVI PAGE: I am going out to New York for a honeymoon.

HOLLY HUGHES: Exactly. That is exactly right. You and I know Marc Klass, I respect Marc so much and he will tell you as the father of a murdered child, you know the first thing you do is whatever the Police need, whatever they want. Yes I will sit through an interrogation, yes put me on a polygraph, whatever you need to do to eliminate me so that you can get onto the real kidnapper and killer. So first off, that just stinks to high heaven, so that gives me reason he knows a lot more than he is telling. Now, moving forward, Misty claims that this Joe Overstreet molested her, when did this happen? Did you call the Police, did you report it? Have you seen this kid? He is a pep squeak, Misty could take him, are you kidding me? Get real! I mean you could blow him away in a windstorm: this is not some bulking body builder okay? So if that’s true, if there was molestation, why has it never been told because if it had been told, even if she claimed she is so scared of him she wouldn’t report it to the Police, which is a load of crap, because he lives in a completely different state, so he molests you then left the State? Call the Police and have them go and arrest his behind.

LEVI PAGE: You know Tommy Croslin’s attorney, James Werter, says they were all afraid of Joe Overstreet. The day after HaLeigh went missing: Joe Overstreet was back in Tennessee. You know someone in Satsuma Florida which there is a long distance between Satsuma Florida and Tennessee, they are not going to be afraid of someone when they go back home to a completely different state more than 10 hours away.

HOLLY HUGHES: Exactly, that’s exactly right. And if you are that scared, call the cops and get him arrested and take them immediately to where the evidence is before it degrades, before it gets washed away, before animals get to it, take them immediately and say, “Oh my gosh, you know you have to go and arrest this guy, we are terrified of him, but we can lead you exactly to the crime scene, we can tell you exactly what happened. What a load of crapola. They are saying “oh drug dealers took the baby”, they are saying “cousin Joe did it”. I don’t believe a word any one of those lying people say. His own grandmother, Flora Hollers, is saying, “yeah I think Ron has something to do with it”.

LEVI PAGE: Yeah.

HOLLY HUGHES: That is her gut feeling I will give you that much but I think he knows a lot more than he is saying but here is the thing with the plea deal: Let’s remember the reason that they point him out on this, the allocution that he gave and the proffer that he gave, as far as we know, is with respect to Misty and Tommy’s drug dealing. He said he would testify against her in a drug dealing trial, he has not said to anyone’s knowledge that he will testify against her in a murder trial.

LEVI PAGE: Art Harris is reporting on his website and he reported this a couple of weeks ago on this Show, that Ronald Cummings was giving police new information about the timeline in the HaLeigh Cummings case and new information about Misty, Tommy, and Joe Overstreet, and his relationship with these characters which begs the question “If you are totally innocent, why are you coming out with new information a year and a half after your child is missing? Don’t you give that up right then and there?”

HOLLY HUGHES: Absolutely. And that is why I am very suspicious that he has given them anything. He might say to them, “This is all I know”, but I wouldn’t believe him as far as I could throw him because….

LEVI PAGE: Doesn’t it help the investigator to get him to talk since he has previously clammed up?

HOLLY HUGHES: Well it is absolutely imperative that they hear what he has to say, I’m just not sure it is going to be helpful. Yeah he can go in there and say to them, “yeah I called 90 times”, they already know that okay? They have his cell phone records. They have investigated the hell out of this case, they have worked so hard and done such a great job in doing everything they can and I mean they put these people under surveillance. How do you think they got them on video dealing drugs? They were watching these people of interest to them so the police have absolutely worked it but I got to tell you, I can’t see Ronald, if he is involved in this, really giving up too much because he is afraid he is going to implicate himself.

LEVI PAGE: Maybe though Holly they have something that was pressuring him to talk.

HOLLY HUGHES: Well you know that would be great but here is the thing, I cannot see any prosecutor worth his salt, giving a deal to someone who he thinks might be part and party to a crime.

LEVI PAGE: Holly, what does that tell you though whenever Ronald Cummings swears up and down that he didn’t have anything to do with his missing child but very early in the case, Ronald Cummings hired a Criminal Defense team very early, and a lot of people will say, his supporters will say it’s because Crystal Sheffield, the mother of HaLeigh got an attorney to get HaLeigh taken away from him but he got an attorney even before that happened and it was not a family law attorney, it was criminal defense attorneys that specialized in criminal defense.

HOLLY HUGHES: Well to me there are a lot of people who would say well you know you want to make sure your rights are protected. Here’s the thing, if you got a missing child that you truly love, and you think some stranger has come in and abducted her, you are not thinking about yourself. Any good parent is not thinking about himself, he is concerned about the whereabouts of his child, and what that child may be going through if she has been taken by a kidnapper, so for you to be worried about protecting your own interests, which to me, if you have nothing to hide, go ahead and cooperate, you don’t need……

LEVI PAGE: You know what it reminds me of. Remember in the Jon Benet Ramsey case, the Ramsey’s clammed up very early on and hired criminal defense attorneys. They got on a plane immediately and went to Atlanta within 48 hours of Jon Benet Ramsey dying and they also hired media people, public relations specialists to deal with the media instead of talking to police and it wasn’t until months after their daughter was murdered that they finally sat down to talk to Police and in this case what’s similar in the Jon Benet Ramsey case and the HaLeigh Cummings case is that Misty and Ron were so tight: that they were almost inseparable. They got married, Ron protected Misty from law enforcement, Ron did not want law enforcement barking up Misty’s tree despite Ron knew her story made no sense, there were tons of inconsistencies in her story and that she had lied, and instead of pointing the finger at Misty, Ronald was always wanting the finger to be pointed at Crystal Sheffield, HaLeigh’s own mother and her side of the family and telling the Police they should look at them. And according to my sources, Ronald would even take his child Junior to Police and have him snitch on what Crystal was doing: Crystal did this and Crystal did that while all the while his daughter was missing. It seems like Ronald was more interested in trashing the mother of HaLeigh then actually getting HaLeigh back and finding out exactly who did it which is that little gal pal of his who cheated on him but he still marries her and supports her and says she is just great!

HOLLY HUGHES: Right absolutely, well here is the thing. If you think he tells on himself because let’s all remember when he makes the initial 911 call with Misty that morning he says to the police, you all need to get here quick because if I find out who’s got my daughter before you get here, I’m going to f’in kill them. Okay, so he is saying whoever’s got my kid, whoever hurt my kid, whoever did something to my kid, I’m going to kill ‘em, but then he turns around and marries her a month later? So we know that that is all posturing, we know that that’s all lies because what he said was basically……..

LEVI PAGE: And what is so disturbing is that a lot of people will see the tears in Ron’s face and they’ll say oh he could never do that. You know I’ve listened to a video tape of Ronald Cummings talking to a bounty hunter that was previously involved in this case, a bounty hunter named Cobra, and Cobra got this on tape and Ronald Cummings callously, callously Holly talked about how if the body of HaLeigh, his own daughter was thrown in the St. John’s River, he callously talked about how alligators would eat the body and basically clean everything up but the bones.

HOLLY HUGHES: First of all, this guy has so many issues: I don’t know that that bothered me so much because that is just typical of his personality and his behavior. He is just not going to behave like a normal member of society.

LEVI PAGE: He was talking about daddy’s little boy Junior and he said, “I’ll take him with me: I’ll take him to my grave.” That is very disturbing and it is also equally disturbing the lifestyle these children were subjected to because we are hearing about all sorts of illegal guns, illegal drugs being inside that home. We are hearing about the people that Ronald and Misty associated with being inside the home with HaLeigh and Junior and Ronald at one point, and this was witnessed by Tim Miller with Texas Equasearch, pulled out a gun that he had unsecured in his room, the same room that his child who was I think 4-years-old Junior was sleeping in, he took out the gun, put the barrel of the gun inside his mouth Holly and threatened to kill himself and “Take others out with me.” This is a disturbed individual.

HOLLY HUGHES: Absolutely, but it just goes to show you again what his mindset is, and his mindset is it’s all about me: just like the honeymoon photos. Just like marrying the last person to see his daughter before she went missing, it is all about him, it‘s about what he wants to do, just like breaking the law and trafficking drugs, I don’t care what the law says, I don’t care what Society says, I want to make some money so I am going to go and deal drugs. Let me back up…….

LEVI PAGE: Ron had a job at PDM Bridge and that was making an honest living but he never showed back up there after his daughter vanished, instead he was raking in donations by people in the community and you know what he was doing with those donations? He was getting tattoos, he was taking Misty out to eat, he was going to the Fair, he was going to the racetrack, and guess what we learned on this program a couple of weeks ago, according to Kim Picazio, that Ronald Cummings after shooting an episode of Nancy Grace where he turned on the tears for the camera, got up, left his mom sitting there crying and went mud bogging.

HOLLY HUGHES: Oh yeah, none of this surprises me. I mean, why work for a living when someone else will pay for your lifestyle? Good heavens, I mean if I had people sending me money in the mail, I wouldn’t work another day in my life! Shoot I would be out there buying myself $1200 Lindsey Lohan shoes. And let’s talk about the tears for a second.

LEVI PAGE: And on his truck, he put this sticker on his truck that says, “Only God Can Judge Me!” Who does that when their child is missing? Only someone who knows that they have done something wrong. He knows he’s done something wrong.

HOLLY HUGHES: He is going to get his wish Levi and that is perfectly okay with me. He is going to get his wish okay, he will be judged let me tell you something. But in the meantime, let’s talk about two issues: the tears, I could grasp the fact that he has tears but let me tell you something, do we all remember Susan Smith?

LEVI PAGE: Yup.

HOLLY HUGHES: Susan Smith stood in front of those cameras and sobbed and cried “I love my babies, I want my babies back, whoever’s got my babies, please bring my children back”. P.S. in the meantime, she knows that they are still strapped in their car seats at the bottom of the lake where she left them. So the fact that he can go on there and turn on the tears means nothing to me. I have seen it all, heard it all, and it means nothing except, so the tears don’t mean anything, I lost my train of thought Levi: I went off on that rant Levi because I was so mad about that.

LEVI PAGE: Remember Susan Smith killed her children because she had a boyfriend that didn’t like the fact that she had children so she decided to kill the children and a lot of times children get in the way of the lifestyle that you want to lead, and if Ronald wants to lead a lifestyle of doing drugs, having sex with underage women, it is kind of hard to do that when you got two children you got to take care of.

HOLLY HUGHES: That’s exactly right. Yeah. That’s a lot of responsibility. So frightening, frightening, you need a license to go fishing but anyone can have a child, that’s scares me.

LEVI PAGE: That is exactly true and you know what else is interesting is a lot of people take a quote that LE use and they say “Ronald Cummings is not a suspect” and I try to explain that the reason LE made that quote is because they are not going to come out and say, “oh we think this guy is a suspect” if they want to get this guy to talk. This guy was not cooperating with them: he was not coming in for questioning. They want to get him in so they are going to say “he is not a suspect”, they are going to say, “hey no pressure, come in and talk with us”.

HOLLY HUGHES: That is exactly right. There are certain rights that have to be read to you if you are under arrest, if you are in custody they have to tell you about your Miranda rights, they have to advise you that you have the right to remain silent, you can have an attorney present, if you are not a suspect, if you are not under arrest or under suspicion and you are just a “witness” they don’t have to go through all those hoops, they don’t have to give you your rights, they can say it’s a friendly conversation, let’s find out what you know. So yeah let’s face it Levi, there is no statute of limitations on murder, so they can call him whatever they like until they develop enough information to put him in a different category, he’s not a suspect. But if and when they find enough evidence to believe he had something to do with the murder of the little girl, then they just go ahead and arrest him at that point and then everybody knows what he is.

LEVI PAGE: Everybody with us is Holly Hughes, she is a former prosecutor and defense attorney, a very well known attorney out of the Georgia jurisdiction in Atlanta, she has prosecuted and handled many, many violent crimes cases. She is very familiar with these types of cases. You know Holly what is interesting to me is that we are hearing now according to my sources that after Ron got his 15-years sentence, the detectives in this case made a Bee-line over to Misty Croslin, they got Misty Croslin and put her under a grueling cross-examination and apparently this had Misty upset, she was completely devastated about this. She was so torn up about this: this really got to her. She was crying to her mother and while her mother is not currently behind bars, although she was previously behind bars, she cried to her mother about this and apparently LE threatened her with murder charges and said that if you don’t talk Misty, if you don’t tell us what happened, you are going to go away for 50 years.

HOLLY HUGHES: Well okay, here’s the thing. First of all, they are only telling her the truth because if they can develop enough information to put her involved in this little girl’s murder, I mean let’s face it, she was the last person to see her, she didn’t report her missing when it first happened, she waited till Ron got home to do anything about it. She was out-of-communication for a long time, I mean Ron made 90, 90, nine zero calls to the house? What the heck is that about? I mean obviously if she is not picking up the phone, she’s not there so you know what, she is obviously so upset that you go looking for her, you get in the truck and leave work saying there has to be some sort of emergency and I have to go check on my family. So something is up and this is psychological warfare okay? She is watching everybody else in this case plead out and get their sentences. What she has always wanted is for Ronald to stick by her and Ron to be on her side, well now the fact that he got a pretty light sentence all things considered, it’s got to make her nervous, she has got to wonder what he said because he knows something and what she is doing now is sitting there going “oh crap, I’m by myself, I’m on my own, the last person that I thought would turn on me, has turned on me, has given information to the Police”. So she is as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof and she ought to be.

LEVI PAGE: And I think what LE did, I know that a lot of people are outraged about this plea deal. They wanted Ronald Cummings to get the maximum, and believe me I would have liked nothing more, but what I think this plea deal is, is a strategy by LE to sort of drive a wedge between Misty and Ron, they want to drive this wedge between them because they have stuck together and this gets Misty nervous. This gets Misty wondering what is Ronald saying about me, Ronald my protector, who protected me from the Police, what is he saying about me? This gets Misty nervous and this could possibly get her to talk. This got her upset. She was whining to her mother. Do you think she is close to cracking?

HOLLY HUGHES: I think she may be because now she is getting the idea that she is out there on her own and as long as everybody keeps their mouth shut, nobody gets in trouble, because no one is talking, no one is saying anything but when you got a guy that is caught on video tape participating in drug trafficking and he is facing 70, 80 and 90 years and all of a sudden he walks away with a sweetheart deal of 15, let me tell you something that makes her wonder what has he said, what has he promised them, what has he told them, and why am I the last Mohican standing okay? She does not want to be out there on her own and she is going to begin to wonder if she has been thrown under the bus and quite frankly she should wonder because let’s face it Levi, there is no honor amongst thieves okay. All the racks from a sinking ship, you know how they do that, they abandon once it starts to go down, well let me tell you something, this ship is sinking and
everybody is jumping off and Misty is going to be the last one on deck wondering about “oh crap, am I going to go down with the ship?” so yeah, she should be nervous. She absolutely should be upset. She should be wondering what Ron has told the police because let me tell you something, he doesn’t have any loyalty to her, his loyalty is to save his own behind and if he thinks throwing her under the bus will get him something, he’ll do it. He already agreed he would testify against her in the drug trial.

LEVI PAGE: Apparently Holly, Misty’s family is outraged. They’re mad about this because they are saying “Misty tell us what you know”. They are even putting the pressure on Misty to tell what she knows.

HOLLY HUGHES: Right, because they care about her and they see the writing on the wall. I mean she may be too involved to see it, Misty may still have feelings for Ron and she thinks it’s going to be okay because he wouldn’t say anything that would really get her into any trouble. They are standing on the outside and Misty has to wake up and smell the coffee, do you not see what is happening here? He is ratting your behind out. He is and the other thing I wanted to point out, I know people are upset that he didn’t get the maximum, but here is the thing, he is going to do every day of that time, and 15 years is a long time to be sitting in prison because every day that he is sitting there in prison, the police are out there investigating that crime, and you know what the beauty of this is, none of these defendants are going anywhere, they are all going to be in prison, they are not going to be out there destroying any evidence they think might be left or silence any witnesses who may want to talk. Police are going to take advantage of that time, there is no statute of limitations on murder and they are going to keep working this case and keep working this case. None of these people are geniuses. Let’s put it that way to be polite.

LEVI PAGE: No.

HOLLY HUGHES: So you know what? They did not commit the perfect crime. They are just not that smart so somewhere out there is evidence and sad to say it is eventually going to be the body of the little girl that we recover; so this will be solved. I don’t have any doubt that this will be solved and in the meantime,

LEVI PAGE: It seems they are on the final stretches.

HOLLY HUGHES: That is exactly right and at least we know where the criminals are in the meantime.

LEVI PAGE: Yeah

HOLLY HUGHES: They are not out there hurting anybody else. They’re not committing anymore crimes. They are sitting still and thinking about what they have done.

LEVI PAGE: Exactly right and Holly, what is interesting is that Chelsea Croslin, I just learned this before we went to air, is scheduled to go on Nancy Grace Monday night and she promises that she will blow the case wide open. Do you think that Misty could have said something to one of her family members, such as Chelsea Croslin, her sister-in-law, with whom she is very close to? I have seen them talk on those jailhouse videos, they seem very close, do you think she would tell her sister-in-law something that could be incriminating to either one of the players in this case such as herself, Ron, or Tommy?

HOLLY HUGHES: Yes absolutely. Let me tell you something. Do you know the only way two people can keep a secret Levi, if one of them is dead okay? People cannot keep secrets. When you are involved in something like this, I don’t care how hard you are, or how bad assed you think you are, it’s going to weigh on you, it’s going to weigh on you okay? And Misty is not some genius criminal and I don’t think she is a psychopath or sociopath either, I mean I don’t think she would go out and kill anybody else. So that means that somewhere in there, there is a conscience and in there is the feeling that she needs to talk about this, she needs to get it off her chest, so I would not be surprised at all if she didn’t say something to Chelsea and now that Chelsea is seeing the writing on the wall and seeing that the Cummings are selling out the Croslin’s, she just might be mad enough to spill the beans.

LEVI PAGE: Yes, because she has dropped nuggets out there in the past, little bitsy nuggets of information on various shows. Who knows if she was telling the truth or not. I mean obviously if you are in this family you got a little credibility problem. Everybody we are talking about the HaLeigh Cummings case, today a Judge brings down the gavel on Ronald Cummings and sentences him to 15 years despite his crying jags from his own mother who begged for leniency. The Judge didn’t buy it; the Judge said Ronald is responsible for his own actions. Ron drug trafficking caught on video callously talking about how drug boys didn’t kill his little girl HaLeigh who has been missing for a year and a half. No answers yet but it seems like we are getting some action in this case as Misty Croslin is interrogated, going through a brutal interrogation by the Putnam County Sherriff’s Office. Misty Croslin threatened by the detective that if she does not give up information and give it up soon, she will be charged with murder and she will be facing 50 years behind bars. Are we close to getting answers in this case? I am Levi Page along with Holly Hughes. You know Holly, what do you think about this Joe Overstreet story? Do you think this has any credence to it? That he is involved?

HOLLY HUGHES: You know I really don’t buy it. I really don’t. Like we were talking about earlier Levi, if he was involved, would not that have been the first words out of your mouth? I mean you would immediately tell the cops “this maniac is out there, he did this to this little girl, I tried to help but he beat me up, so you want to go arrest him and get him off the streets right now because I am so scared that he is going to come back and do something to the rest of us”. When was the first time we heard Joe Overstreet’s name in connection with this investigation? Wasn’t it like a year into it? Wasn’t it like a substantially long time before anyone even came up with that?

LEVI PAGE: And not to mention this is what the billionth story that we have heard from Tommy and Misty because Misty Croslin at first said “oh it’s the mother’s side of the family, oh it was a strange and I don’t know anything”, No you do know what happened that night. And then we have Tommy Croslin saying “I went over to the house and I knocked on the door and nobody was home”. LE didn’t buy that, LE strapped him up to a polygraph and he failed every polygraph he took, just like his sister. They know what happened that night. LE isn’t buying it and then when they get thrown in jail, oh Joe did it.

HOLLY HUGHES: Exactly. Let’s try and give them somebody else. Let’s try and muddy the waters because clearly the lies we’ve told so far haven’t helped us. Yet I don’t believe for a second what they are saying about Joe Overstreet, because it was about a year into the investigation that they even mentioned him and that is insane. If you are truly, truly, terrified of somebody, well okay, how come you are terrified of him a year later? I mean if you are terrified of him the entire time, why would you just a year later throw his name out there? You’re not still afraid? Did your fear dissipate? I mean, what happened? This apparently is the guy that has been victimizing and molesting you in your life and you have never reported him to the cops because you are so scared of him. Then he takes this little girl and snatches her and you’re so afraid that you don’t report it to the Police right away, but then a year later, you’re like suddenly I’m not afraid of him anymore. Yeah okay I’ll tell you about it, it was Joe. What is that? What is that? That’s not even credible. Where is that story supposed to have come from? That is another sad attempt because the police aren’t buying the lies they have bandied around so far, so they are like well that’s not working so let’s try something else. Hey I know, let’s throw Joe under the bus. No, no, I don’t believe it. I would be very, very surprised if it turns out that he had anything to do with it, I really would. This doesn’t even make sense; you can’t get a machine gun so you’re going to snatch a child? What? In what Universe?

LEVI PAGE: You are going to strangle the child because apparently the father humiliated you in front of everyone so you are going to go strangle his child and dump the child in you know the St. John’s River.

HOLLY HUGHES: Right, it just does not make sense. Now you all know crime doesn’t make sense and there are some crazy people out there, but this story, I don’t buy it.

LEVI PAGE: No, it doesn’t make sense. It shows me that since Tommy Croslin got 15 years in prison, and they even remarked about how none of the information that he has given them has been credible, that LE isn’t buying it either.

HOLLY HUGHES: Correct, absolutely. If they had any good information they would have solved this case by now so we know that everybody they have talked to thus far has not given them anything good.

LEVI PAGE: But it looks like the squeeze is working.

HOLLY HUGHES: Well, let’s hope so. Let’s hope she is feeling the alienation and realizes she better pony up soon.

LEVI PAGE: Yeah alright everybody, our guest is Holly Hughes. Holly thank you so much for being with us. It was great talking to you.

HOLLY HUGHES: Absolutely, and you too Levi.

LEVI PAGE: Everybody, next week we are going to be on and Nancy Grace is going to be on the Show and we are going to discuss her new show, Swift Justice, and get her thoughts on the HaLeigh Cummings case so tune in. I am Levi Page signing off, good night.

Ronald gets 15 years

By Kristin Chambers
Published: Saturday, September 25, 2010 2:12 AM EDT

Quiet sobs from relatives of Ronald Cummings were heard in a Palatka courtroom Friday morning as the 26-year-old father of Haleigh Cummings was sentenced to 15 years in prison on drug charges.

Shackled and wearing a dark blue jail jumpsuit, Cummings was silent during the hearing. His attorney, Terry Shoemaker, spoke for him, confirming his plea of guilty to three counts of trafficking in hydrocodone pills.

Cummings originally faced five counts after a month-long undercover investigation in January. Cummings would have faced a minimum sentence of 25 years had the two not been dropped.

In a plea deal with prosecutors, Cummings had to provide information dealing with the narcotics case and the ongoing investigation into his 5-year-old daughter's disappearance.

"Personally I think that 15 years is too much, however that's what the statute requires and I understand the state's position," Shoemaker said.

The charges stem from three transactions in which he dealt in a total of 39.7 grams of hydrocodone worth $465.

A camera secretly recorded the transactions and the videos served as key evidence against Cummings and four more people charged after the investigation.

"I think that the reason that we were able to get a lesser sentence than the 25 years is because of Haleigh's case," Shoemaker said. "I think deep down the state feels sorry, whether or not they admit it, and realizes what Ronald's been through with Haleigh."

Cummings' mother, Teresa Neves, was the only person to testify Friday.

"I just want you to know that Ronald is a very good man," Neves said. "He has always been a very good father. He made a wrong choice. He has two children, we may not know where one of them is, but he does have two children that need him."

Crystal Sheffield, the children's mother, was present but declined to comment, saying that she was there for "my kids."

Haleigh disappeared from her Satsuma home on Feb. 10, 2009, and no sign of her has been found. The case was declared a homicide in April.

Shoemaker said Cummings spoke with investigators and "offered a lot of valuable information."

"I think he basically tied up a lot of loose ends, which allows them to formulate their theory as to what happened," Shoemaker said.

The majority of the information included details of the days leading up to Haleigh's disappearance, he added.

Chris Kelly, spokesman for the state attorney's office, said Friday's outcome was merely a matter of the facts.

"Each case is evaluated on its own facts and the resolution, and based on the facts of the case is what we felt was an appropriate sentence," Kelly said.

Others arrested in the case include Misty Croslin, 18; her brother, Hank Croslin Jr., 24; Cummings' cousin Hope Sykes, 18; and Donna Brock, 43.

Sykes and Hank Croslin Jr. each were sentenced to 15 years in prison, Misty Croslin is scheduled to be sentenced next month on eight counts of trafficking.

Putnam County sheriff's officials have said the drug investigation was not connected to the Haleigh case.

Authorities say Misty Croslin reported Haleigh missing at 3:27 a.m. just as Cummings returned from his night shift job at PDM Bridge in Palatka. Croslin said when she awoke about 3 a.m., the kitchen light was on, the back door was propped open with a concrete block and Haleigh was gone.

In a frantic 911 call, Cummings can be heard in the background yelling, "What did you do to my daughter?"

Crying, Croslin replied that she was sleeping.

The two married a month later, but divorced after seven months.

Allegations were recently made that Joe Overstreet, Croslin's Tennessee cousin, came to the home with Hank Croslin Jr. the night before Haleigh was reported missing and took the girl when he couldn't find a gun.

Croslin's attorney said her brother told investigators a similar story last spring, which triggered a three-day search of the St. Johns River near the Shell Harbour boat ramp.

No evidence was found in the search.

The sheriff's refuses to discuss the Haleigh case, saying it remains under investigation. Authorities have provided little information to the public about investigation's progress or status.

Last year, detectives said Misty Croslin had provided inconsistent statements to investigators and that she was key to solving the case.

Here we have it......yet, another story from Mistmuff,,it wasn't Cousin Joe,,,,,

it was............................................... .............

http://www.artharris.com/2010/09/26/exclusive-tommy-croslin-took-haleigh-misty-changes-story-not-cousin-joe-overstreet/

Within hours of Ronald Cummings sentencing Friday, The Bald Truth has learned Misty Croslin began to crack under relentless police questioning—and changed her story again.

Family members and sources close to the case tell me Croslin now claims she lied about her allegation that cousin Joe Overstreet snatched Haleigh to cover up yet another horror even closer to home. During her four hour interrogation Friday, The Bald Truth learned exclusively that Misty Croslin now claims it was her own brother, Tommy Croslin, who came to the trailer that night, took Haleigh and fabricated the cousin Joe-machine gun story.

Then, my sources say, she told police Tommy pressured her to go along with it.

Her attorney, Robert Fields, confirmed she met with investigators, but declined to comment further.

“She told me she kept telling the police if they wanted to know what really happened, they had to get Tommy to talk, that he can tell them everything,” her mother, Lisa Croslin, told The Bald Truth after speaking with Misty.

Sources close to the family and the investigation tell me tell me it was about 1:30 p.m. Friday when the methodical grilling of Ronald’s’ 18 year old ex wife began. Only this time, it was with a well-prepared prosecutor with a fresh set of eyes, veteran state attorney Ed Davis of Daytona. He was there watching as investigators hammered away at the inconsistencies and lies Croslin has told for a year and a half about the night she reported five year old Haleigh Cummings missing in February, 2009.

Then the unthinkable happened. No longer able to hide from her lies, Misty Croslin cracked.

Amid tears, weeping and shaking, she blurted out that her brother, Tommy, did it and knows everything. Towards the end, she was distraught, yelling, and believed to be so shaken, required a brief suicide watch on a jail medical ward.

Misty's Shocking New Confession?

It was reported on the Jane Velez Mitchell show, "Issues" that Misty Croslin has been "cracked" by detectives and has given the "truth" of what "really happened" to Haleigh in the homicide investigation.

Misty Croslin has now has recanted her Cousin Joe story.
Students of Statement Analysis saw that Joe Overstreet appeared to have offered, unprompted, the "I didn't do it" on TV. This is something that the guilty (unprompted) struggle to do. We took it as truth, given if unprompted, though body language experts said he was lying.

Body language is fascinating and has its use, but must be based upon a standard for each individual, and that Statement Analysis, which listens rather than interprets, is far more reliable. Body language needs a reference point for each subject. (Dr. Eckman)

The article is in plain type; quotes in italics, with Statement Analysis (and commentary) in bold type.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Within hours of Ronald Cummings sentencing Friday, The Bald Truth has learned Misty Croslin began to crack under relentless police questioning—and changed her story again.

Note the tense of "began" to crack. Did she crack? Did she regain herself midway? We note that when we are told something began to happen, unless the subject tells us it was completed, we cannot say it was. We do not interpret it as it was completed.

For reliability, our formula remains the same:

First person singular, past tense.

Any deviation is noted for weakness. "Misty cracked" would have been past tense.

I haven't been here forever but I keep seeing Levi on my FB page so I thought I would come check it out. Groovy, thank you for keeping up here..

I have always thought Ron was involved. He was so FAKE in most of his interviews..His cry was about the most fake I have ever seen with the exception of casey and Misty..His actions after Haleigh went missing were beyond abnormal for a parent with a missing child. There is NO way as controlling as he is if he wasn't involved he doesn't know what happened.. Know what I mean. Misty would have told him..Seriously was there really 90 calls from him that night? Who has time to call anyone that many times while at work, while anywhere for that matter..

I would hate to think that this is the way parents with missing children who are NOT involved are starting to act. I mean if it's becoming a trend I totally feel sorry for the next generation. Involved or not he is a piece of shit who clearly did NOT care about his children.I find that terribly sad..It's too bad that Misty has lied so much we won't know the truth if she ever decides to reveal it...That was probably part of the plan...Cause confusion and lie and deny...No matter who is involved it is past time to end this and give Haleigh's other family members closure..

Chelsea Croslin's Haleigh Overdose Theory Analyzed

This week, Chelsea Croslin, wife of Timmy Croslin (sister of Misty Croslin) appeared on the JVM show.

She has given her theory which says that Haleigh died of an accidental overdose when she found "drug boy" Ronald Cummings' pills and then Ronald orchestrated the cover up by coercing others into helping dispose of the body.

Is this plausible?

For many of us, it has been the most plausible explanation we have postulated. For others, there is strong opposition because they believe that Ronald Cummings was an innocent victim and a grieving father.

Let's look at the transcripts of the show, using Statement Analysis, as well as commentary of what we know about those involved in the case. This would include the following presuppositions:

1. Misty Croslin has been deceptive in particular, on the 911 call and initial interview with media (see prior analysis).
2. Ronald Cummings have been deceptive, including 911 call and his interview with Geraldo (see prior analysis)
3. Tommy Croslin has lied, failing polygraphs.

Haleigh Cummings Update

Last week Chelsea Croslin, the sister-in-law of Misty Croslin spoke out in an Exclusive interview on HLN's "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell" and gave her theory on what happened to missing Florida girl Haleigh Cummings.

Croslin said she thinks that Haleigh died by overdosing on pills belonging to the missing child's father, Ronald Cummings and that Tommy Croslin and Joe Overstreet disposed of the body.

Croslin also said she thinks the mysterious "man in black" that Haleigh's little brother claimed he witnessed abducting his sister, was in fact Ronald Cummings and that Ronald's work uniform was black, and that police have that uniform.

Art Harris reported on http://www.artharris.com/ that Ronald's uniform was blue. But is it possible that Jr could get blue confused with black? Would a blue uniform look like a black uniform if there were no lights on in the trailer and it was dark?

Chelsea Croslin also exposed Ronald Cummings as a twofaced little weasel. While Cummings was a regular on HLN's "Nancy Grace" and was known for crying in front of the cameras, Chelsea provided photos to HLN where after Haleigh went missing, Ronald was smiling, kissing and celebrating with Misty Croslin.

Croslin denied reduction in drug sentence

By Larry Sullivan
Published: Tuesday, October 5, 2010 1:55 AM EDT
A key figure in the Haleigh Cummings case lost his bid Monday for a reduced sentence on oxycodone trafficking charges.

Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. had petitioned to cut the 15-year jail term he received in August, with his attorney suggesting three to five years was more consistent with similar cases in Putnam County.

"Fifteen years might be a bit of overkill," defense attorney James Werter told Circuit Judge Terry LaRue.

But LaRue wasn't moved.

"I gave considerable consideration to it," the judge said of the sentence.

Croslin's sister, Misty, was babysitting Haleigh when the child was reported missing Feb. 10, 2009. No trace of the blond-haired kindergartner has been seen since and authorities say they believe she was killed.

An undercover investigation, complete with high-quality videos of illegal prescription drug sales late last year, quickly bore fruit, in stark contrast to the missing child-homicide probe. Several people close to the Haleigh case were jailed on drug charges in January.

Hank Croslin Jr., 24, was arrested on two counts of trafficking.

His sister, Misty, faces seven counts in Putnam County and another St. Johns County, and is slated to be sentenced later this month.
Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's father, in August was sentenced to 15 years after authorities dropped three of the five charges against him.

His cousin, 19-year-old Hope Sykes, received a 15-year prison term in April.

During Monday's hearing, LaRue reiterated his surprise that Hank Croslin Jr. and the others would engage in the sales since they were in the public eye.

"I had trouble believing that they could do that, and I still do," LaRue said.

The judge said he felt the 15-year sentence was fair.

"It was drug dealing," he said. "No doubt about it."

As he did last month, Werter blamed Croslin's problems on his home environment and drug addiction. He said Croslin had tried to "break the cycle he grew up in."

Members of Croslin's family sat in the front row of the courtroom. Some sobbed during the hearing.

Behind them sat members of Haleigh Cummings' family, several wearing T-shirts or holding photos of the child.

Prior to the 20-minute hearing, Marie Griffis, Haleigh's maternal grandmother, hugged Ronald's mother outside the courtroom and after the hearing they stood talking in the shade outside the courthouse.

Ronald Cummings mother said she supported Croslin's sentence.

"They're not in here getting a reduced sentence and I don't think he should have either," she said.
Asked about her son, Neves said, "I don't even think he should have been in there but that's how it goes."

In August, a prosecutor said Hank Croslin Jr. remained a suspect in the Haleigh case.

Defense attorneys recently said he and his cousin, Joe Overstreet of Tennessee, went to the Cummings home in Satsuma looking for a gun and not finding it, Overstreet abducted Haleigh and dumped her body in the St. Johns River.

Overstreet has not been named as a suspect in the case and has not been charged. He was recently jailed on drug charges in Tennessee.

Chelsea Croslin (Timmy's wife) was on JVM Monday 10/04/10...here are some of the things she said, posted on SM;

Misty was in the car with Ron when he picked up Haleigh at the busstop per Chelsea on Levi Page.

And Misty and Ron were not back together the night HaLeigh went missing.

It was Misty's blanket in van. ALL her things were still in van from RON throwing her things out per Chelsea.

Chelsea said Teresa and Annette paid Misty to babysit that night and she called Chelsea that afternoon.

Chelsea: MISTY said she was at busstop BUT CC did not see her only Ron. Both Misty & Ron picked Haleigh up at bus stop. Chelsea: Ronald and Misty left the windows up because Misty didnt want Chelsea to know she went back to Ronald.

2:40 is supposedly when Ron left for work and it was unusual for him to be home when Haleigh got home per Chelsea

Per Chelsea:

Ron USUALLY came home from work 11-3 per Chelsea.

Ronald picked up Misty up from PCSO..and told LE that Misty's interview was done and he pulled her out of interviews..

Misty and Ron told Chelsea they put the rat in the mailbox, says Chelsea, she knows this for a fact.

As soon as there's a transcript from that show, I will post it, in the meantime, here is some GOSSIP, also from SM;

Quote from: thatsacrock

Teresa never said anything but good things about Crystal to me during the whole time we were in touch. I never thought HaLeigh's mom's family were involved in her disappearance. I learned fast that Ron was tangled up with bad people doing bad things and I concluded that something related to his activities led to this. I never cared for Ron but I felt very sorry for his family in the beginning.

Teresa despised Misty. She told me she wanted was for Ron and Crystal to be together so her grandkids could have an intact family. She claimed she even offered Crystal money and a car if she came back to Ron but Crystal wouldnt do it. She said when Ron and Misty had that fight before Haleigh disappeared Ron called her and she told him to let Misty go and try again to get Crystal to come back and Ron told Crystal that if she didnt come back he would take his relationship with Misty to the next level.

Teresa also told me that Ron never stopped wearing a ring Crystal gave him. Before the weeding Ron wore a ring on his left hand. That was from Crystal. when they dated. When he got misty's wedding ring he still wore Crystals ring too. In some pictures you can see two rings.

Misty Croslin's Next Sentencing Pushed To 2011
Sentencing On Putnam County Charges Delayed

POSTED: 2:54 pm EDT October 15, 2010
UPDATED: 3:08 pm EDT October 15, 2010

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Misty Croslin won’t be sentenced on charges in Putnam County until 2011, but the last person to see Haleigh Cummings won’t be going far in the mean time.

Croslin was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Oct. 8 on one count of drug trafficking in St. Johns County.

She faces nine charges in Putnam county.

A sentencing hearing was supposed to be held on Oct. 19 on one of the drug trafficking charges, but the sentencing has been moved to Jan. 10, officials said on Friday.

Misty was with Haleigh Cummings, 5, on the night she disappeared in February 2009. Haleigh has not been seen since.

Recently, Croslin reportedly told investigators she heard Haleigh Cummings being attacked before she vanished.

Croslin, who was the girlfriend of Haleigh's father, Ronald, at the time, was arrested with the child's father in a drug sting.

Ronald has also been sentenced to 15 years on similar drug charges.

A Florida judge announced recently that local butterball and pill pusher Misty Croslin is poised to join the star-studded cast of VH1′s new edition of “‘Celebrity’ Fit Club: Perfect 10′s Gone Porky.” Croslin, who gained tabloid notoriety as the last person to see little Haleigh Cummings before her disappearance, has inflated to nearly three times her original size since her arrest earlier this year. Ironically, when the dimwitted party girl initially traded in her beloved cigs (and various other appetite suppressants) for a blue jumpsuit, she complained about jail staff trying to ‘starve a false confession out of her.’ While sobbing in withdrawl-laced hysterics to her troglodyte family in a series of riveting jailhouse phone calls, she even noted that her knobby chicken legs were so thin her socks kept falling down.

No such hardships for Misty these days.

Nay, the rapidly expanding Croslin was apparently quickly tipped off to the plethora of delightful confections offered by the jail comissary. Following in the footsteps of fellow castmates Casey Anthony and Melissa Huckaby, Misty jumped from Perfect 10 grace into a pit of sweet, sweet Ho-Ho’s and delicious Hostess Snowballs, to become the tubby doughgirl we barely recognize today.

With next season’s cast all lined up, VH1 has dropped tidbits of drama and suspense to wet our appetites. Guest trainer Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser will join Harvey the creepy ex-Marine, to whip the disgraceful trio back into clubbing shape in no time. Rumor has it Misty and Casey burst into tears as they make a halfass attempt to push the enormous Huckaby uphill in a wheelbarrow, while Jillian cackles at their jiggling cottage cheese thighs.

Also making an appearance will be renowned psychotherapist and dietician Nancy Grace, who will help the girls tackle their deep-rooted food issues in courtroom-like ‘group therapy sessions.’ Spoiler alert: The girls don’t get to say much; mostly its just Nancy wearing a sweatshirt with pics of her twins, cutting off the contestants with half-baked one liners and insults about their commisary orders.

Rounding out the show’s inevitable hilarity is the grand prize: one lucky prisoner will not only shed the excess weight, but she’ll have a lifetime contract as a model for Jose Baez’s bikini company.

Color me excited.

Ron has porked up a bit too, to be fair.

I guess there is more time in a day to eat when you aren't passed out from eating hydros and oxycontin all day long.

EXCLUSIVE: “HALEIGH IS NOT DEAD!”—Misty Croslin 12/14/10
By Art Harris, The Bald Truth, www.artharris.com,. all rights reserved

Contradicting herself yet again, Misty Croslin now claims she was asleep the night Haleigh Cummings vanished, and has no idea what happened to the five year old she was babysitting almost two years ago–but insists she’s alive.

“My heart knows she is alive,” says the jailhouse letter, written last month by the teenage drug trafficker while serving 25 years in a Florida women’s prison for selling prescription pills to an undercover cop and now facing possibly decades more behind bars at her sentencing in Putnam County on seven other drug charges next month.

“I ask myself, ‘What if?’ What if I wouldn’t have fell (sic) asleep?” the letter says. “What if I would have checked the door? How is it meant to be that a little beautiful girl like Haleigh, who is so innocent, could be snatched from me as I slept just a few feet away?”

That’s what local, state and federal and investigators still want to know, insisting the illiterate teenager who just turned 19 behind bars still holds the key to what happened to Haleigh Cummings.

“If Misty Croslin has information about what happened between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. that night, we’d be happy to speak with her, either before or after her next sentencing,” said Putnam County Sheriff’s Major Gary Bowling, in an interview with The Bald Truth Tuesday.
“Everyone wants to know what happened,” writes Misty. ”I was asleep. How can I say anything when there is nothing to say? Yet how can I be quiet when I want to scream, ‘Listen to me..HALEIGH IS NOT DEAD. FIND HER!”

Bowling told me investigators had copies of all her letters, and others, and despite Croslin’s new assertions, “we’re still treating this as a homicide case.”

Misty Croslin 2nd Sentence Also 25 Years
Putnam County Sentence To Be Served Concurrent WIth St. Johns Sentence

<snipped>

PALATKA, Fla. -- Misty Croslin, the teenager who was the last person to see 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings before the girl disappeared in February 2009, is sentenced to 25 years on drug charges from Putnam County.

The time will be served concurrently with the 25 year sentence she is already serving on a St. Johns County conviction of trafficking in oxycodone.

In addition to the prison time, Croslin will receive five years of probation, a $1.25 million fine and mandatory drug rehabilitation.

Croslin could have faced up seven years on each of seven drug trafficking charges she pleaded guilty to last year.

Croslin; Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings; Misty's brother, Hank Croslin Jr.; and two others were arrested in January 2010 in an undercover sting and charged with selling prescription drugs in January.

What could turn things around for Croslin? If she suddenly coughed up the keys to unlocking the Haleigh Cummings murder mystery, she could face a reduction kin her prison term for drug trafficking, officially unrelated to a murder no one has been charged with.

Misty Croslin 25 + 25 + $2,000,000 + Two Year Driver License Suspension = A Lot Of Time To Think

Posted on January 10th, 2011
by Simon Barrett in crime

The last person to see missing Florida girl Haleigh Cummings found out her final fate today in the sentencing phase of the unreleased drug case. Already having managed to achieve a 25 year sentence in St Johns county on related drug charges. Today’s sentence in Putnam County added another 25 years. The key phrase used though was ‘concurrent’. Misty is looking at 25 years behind bars. She also has the minor problem of a $2 million owed in fines. In what can only be described as pointless, upon release her driving privileges are also suspended for two years!

Looks like Little Ronbo wants his sentence reduced or something!

It looks as though RC has filed this Motion on all three of his convictions. Now, I might understand him filing on the one that had a 3-year minimum; he actually got a little over 7 years on that one and that is because of his past record/. His scoresheet would not allow less than 84.025 months. So he could not get the minimum on that charge even if the judge wanted to.

As for the other two charges, he got the minimum of 15 years on each. So there was no leeway for the judge to sentence him to less for those. In light of that, the only thing I can think of is they are complaining that the court did not correctly calculate the credit for time served...OR...they are arguing the amounts of the fines on all three charges.

I am speaking from what info I found for why this Motion can be filed. It does not appear there are other allowable reasons.

ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL Transcript

Aired January 10, 2011 - 19:00:00 ET

Coming up next, Misty Croslin in court, she was the last person to see 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings alive. Did she cut a deal to escape life behind bars? We`re going to tell you just how many years she`s going to spend in the clink next.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I don`t want you saying nothing that will hurt you, Misty.

MISTY CROSLIN, HALEIGH CUMMINGS` FORMER STEP MOTHER: I`m not, daddy. There`s nothing against me. I`m telling you.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Your brother told me to tell you -- well, you`re brother told me to tell you he loves you.

M. CROSLIN: I love him, too.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I want to get your brother out, too.

M. CROSLIN: Well, worry about me first.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

M. CROSLIN: I will prove to the world that I didn`t have nothing to do with it.

(CROSS TALK)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Exactly.

M. CROSLIN: Everybody can kiss my (EXPLETIVE DELETED). I`m going to get on TV and I`m going to tell them all (EXPLETIVE DELETED) off.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That`s right. I don`t blame you at all. I mean, they -- they need to give you a nationwide apology.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Tonight, did Misty Croslin, the very last person to see missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings alive strike a secret deal? The 19-year-old escapes life in prison. Misty was in court today and sentenced to another 25 years in prison for dealing drugs.

But she got a huge lucky break. That sentence was on top of the 25 years she already got in another county. And -- this is the key -- they are letting her serve both 25-year sentences at the same time.

So essentially she got no additional time today. Still Misty is going to be 44 when she finally gets out. I know that sounds tough, but she could have gotten 240 years in prison if they really wanted to stick it to her.

Did Misty finally tell investigators something like where the beautiful little Haleigh`s body is? Misty was baby-sitting Haleigh the night she mysteriously vanished into thin air. That was almost two years ago.

Misty has told a slew of different stories about what happened that night and what happened to Haleigh. But she has always insisted she is not responsible.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

M. CROSLIN: I got up because I had to use the bathroom but I didn`t make it to the bathroom. I seen the kitchen light on and I walked in the kitchen and the back door is it wide open. I didn`t notice about Haleigh then until I seen the back door open. And then I go in the room and she`s gone.

And that`s all I know. Is when I woke up, when -- when I went to sleep she was there and then when I woke up she was gone.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: But police have always believed that Misty is a liar. They are sure she knows exactly what happened to Haleigh. Did she finally crack at the prospect of life behind bars? Did the girl police call the key to this case finally start talking?

I want to begin with my very special guest Chelsea Croslin. Chelsea is Misty`s sister-in-law. Chelsea, what is your reaction to the sentencing?

CHELSEA CROSLIN, MISTY CROSLIN`S SISTER-IN-LAW (via telephone): Honestly, I actually -- I mean, I guess I can be happy it wasn`t as -- it`s possible, you know, I expected a lot more, and much bigger heartache today.

So when we heard 25 we -- we think that that`s definitely the best that we could have hoped for. So hopefully something else will come out in the end, you know, and it might be less time in the end.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. And look at her. Boy, she has changed while inside jail awaiting all these sentences. She looked like a child when she first came in. And she`s -- she`s gained weight. She`s -- my heart does go out to her just on a human-to-human basis.

This -- this girl was, what, 17 when this all started? Did Misty cut off her nose to spite her face? Or did she strike some kind of deal? She refused to give cops any answers about what really in the end of the day happened to this precious child. Listen to this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

M. CROSLIN: When Haleigh`s found, I will be let out of jail because that the only reason they`re keeping me in here, the only reason they set me up and all that stuff. And that`s why my bond is so high and it`s not right.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I don`t know.

M. CROSLIN: This has to be -- me being in jail has nothing to do with Haleigh.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Art Harris, she only got 25 years and it`s going to be served at the same time as her previous sentence. That`s very light considering she could have gotten 240 years. Did she cut a deal? Are we going to find out in a couple days what happened to little Haleigh?

ART HARRIS, ARTHARRIS.COM (via telephone): I tell you, Jane, that she was made aware that things could go very, very well for her if she gave up some information, and she is -- she`s thinking about it.

But what my sources tell me is she`s afraid of implicating other people in the family close to her. And I can tell you that Joe, Cousin Joe Overstreet, now says that he was not at the trailer, that he stayed at Chelsea and Timmy`s house and they were the ones who drove the van that night.

(CROSS TALK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Well, that`s a very, very inflammatory thing you`ve said there. And Chelsea Croslin is on the phone. I want to give you, Chelsea, the opportunity to respond to that.

C. CROSLIN: Well, honestly -- honestly, it would be -- probably the best thing that ever happened to me my entire life besides the day my children that were born if I was the one that had Haleigh with me here in Massachusetts or anywhere.

I don`t know what happened to her. I have been willing to take lie detector tests. So does my husband. The cops don`t believe we had anything to do with it. And that`s why they hadn`t lie detected us. That would be my dream come true, for Haleigh to come home.

(CROSS TALK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right, hold on now. I want to bring in Kim Picazio, who is a former attorney for the mother of little Haleigh Cummings. We have all been trying to figure out if this plea deal, if it ever did happen, would go down.

The lightness of this sentence, Kim, does it speak to you that, hey, Misty made some kind of deal with the authorities and more will be revealed like what really happened to Haleigh?

KIM PICAZIO, FORMER ATTORNEY FOR MOTHER OF HALEIGH CUMMINGS: Right. Well, at first I said, well, Misty had a very good day in court today. I did get an opportunity to speak with Misty`s attorney, Robert Fields, who`s been representing her the entire time.

I don`t believe there`s been any type of new information given by Misty. I think that they`re still in that pressure stage. I think now at this time they`re going to let her sit there and she, of course, can come back to the court and apply to have that sentence reduced but at this point, after speaking with her attorney, I`ve also stayed in contact with law enforcement, I do not believe that there`s been any major breaks in information in the case.

However, I do know that they are looking at different angles, new witnesses pop up all the time. They are still investigating. But unfortunately for Haleigh Cummings, we do not have a conclusion today.

(CROSS TALK)

HARRIS: And that --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: An undercover drug bust landed Misty and many of her family members behind bars. You`re look being at video -- in a second you will be -- of the sting, ok. Now, once they were locked up, people finally started talking. This is the undercover video.

Misty`s brother told cops Haleigh was tied to a brick and her body was dumped into a Florida river. Check this out.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TOMMY CROSLIN, MISTY CROSLIN`S BROTHER: Tell her I got to something that I should have done awhile ago.

FLO HOLLARS, GRANDMOTHER: Do what, baby?

T. CROSLIN: Tell her I have to do something that I should have done a long time ago.

HOLLARS: Said he`s got to do something that he should have done a long time ago. And I don`t want to hear the answer to it because I already know it.

T. CROSLIN: I`m just scared. I don`t want no one to hurt my kids.

HOLLARS: I know it. I know it. Oh, my God.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Now, cops brought Misty in handcuffs down to the banks of the St. John`s River and they grilled her, they pulled up a blue cooler, cinderblocks, rope, but they did not find the little girl`s body.

I have to go back to Kim Picazio. I don`t understand why she would have gotten such a light sentence if she hasn`t given any more information. They clearly have leverage on her.

PICAZIO: She does have an appeal that is pending before the Florida Supreme Court for habeas corpus. I believe there are groups that are attempting to say that the mandatory minimum struck too harshly in this accord on a teen girl with literally no priors that were scorable (ph).

And I think that they were looking at that. Here this judge must have been under some heat to say that you know what, you can`t charge this girl for -- just in order to pressure her to give information in a different crime.

(CROSSTALK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right. More on the other side. We`re just getting started. We`re taking your calls.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MISTY CROSLIN: That girl there she`s real nice. She did my hair. Can you see it?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, I see it. It looks good. I had mine done like that.

CROSLIN: She had to do it through the little bars but she did it for me.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She done it?

CROSLIN: Yes.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Don`t cut it.

CROSLIN: I`m not cutting it.

(CROSSTALK)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Don`t cut it at all.

CROSLIN: They can all put this on TV and kiss my (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That`s right.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Not so cocky now. She`s going to be 44 before she could get out. Tonight, Misty Croslin in court; she was facing life behind bars but she got a lucky break. She can serve her two 25-year sentences at the very same time.

My question is, why so lenient? Did she finally strike a deal and give cops critical information about Haleigh?

Lynn, West Virginia, your question or thought, ma`am?

LYNN, WEST VIRGINIA (via telephone): Hi.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Hi.

LYNN: I have two comments regarding the case.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Go ahead.

LYNN: My first is that I honestly don`t think that Misty could have masterminded any of this by herself. I think she`s just a small pawn of a (INAUDIBLE). I think part of her was afraid for her own life.

And secondly, I have mixed feelings about the actual murder of Haleigh. I don`t think that one crime should be substituted for another crime. I know that, you know, she messed up in dealing with the drugs and the pills and everything. But the --

(CROSSTALK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Ma`am, I agree with you entirely. In fact, that`s my big issue tonight, extreme punishment. Even though she got a lucky break today, Misty is still going to be in jail until she`s 44. This is a teenager who was pushing about three grand worth of pills.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CROSLIN: They`re not going to put me away for something I didn`t do. And I didn`t have anything to do with Haleigh. If I knew who did, I would tell. I told them everything that I can tell them. They need to leave me alone about that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Levi Page, there`s a growing chorus of people saying hey they should not punish her on these drug charges because they believe she was somehow involved in something nefarious involving little Haleigh Cummings.

LEVI PAGE, CRIME BLOGGER: Well, I`m not of that opinion. I think that Haleigh Cummings is dead, according to the police. They say this is a homicide and she`s not going to come back in 25 years and suddenly come back to life.

So Misty Croslin can whine all she wants about the sentence but it`s a bunch of bullcrap. She`s lying. She failed multiple polygraphs, a voice analysis. And her grandmother Flora Hollars (ph) said she`s going to school and making A`s so she`s growing a brain. How about she grow a conscience and tell what she did to this child?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I don`t know, Kim Picazio, what she has to lose by speaking. Nobody can get to her if she has something that she`s afraid of. She`s behind bars. They can`t get to her.

PICAZIO: I agree. There`s been a lot of theories. And I do know she tried to contact family members to try to secretly tell them her confession so that they get the reward money. There`s all of these things going on.

To tell you the truth, I believe that the cops have enough forensic evidence to know when and if she tells the truth, and all we can do is sit back and hope that maybe in three years, she`s matured, she`s grown up and maybe she will have a jailhouse confession to a roomie. Who knows? That`s probably where this case is going to end.

It`s my understanding after speaking with a friend of mine and a colleague, Robert Fields, her own attorney, that they are no closer today to making charges in the Haleigh case and surely you cannot charge someone in an effort to pry out information from another crime.

And thank God the constitution does not allow that.

(CROSSTALK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: The mystery persists. That`s where we have to leave it. You`re watching ISSUES.

Haha,,,I admit, I think it impressive myself. You know there is no way Ronnie-Boy concocted that himself. He must have one hell of a jailhouse attorney advising him LOL but it looks like he wrote it out himself based on the signature IMO.

Authorities used the two-year anniversary of the disappearance of Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings to press key figures in the case to provide information that can solve it while also vowing to aggressively pursue the case.

Putnam Sheriff’s Capt. Johnny Greenwood said in a news release that the evidence and investigation have minimized the likelihood that Haleigh’s disappearance was the work of a stranger. “The individuals with direct knowledge of Haleigh’s whereabouts the night she went missing have still failed to provide the necessary information to bring this case to a logical conclusion,” Greenwood said.

“Contradictory statements provided by these witnesses indicate that they are concealing information from the investigators.”

LEVI PAGE, HOST, "THE LEVI PAGE SHOW": Well, Jane, the family held a vigil last night, a heartbreaking vigil, where Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh`s mother, broke down in tears, saying that she could not believe that it`s been two years since her daughter, Haleigh, who was 5 at the time she vanished, has disappeared. She says it feels like it was yesterday.

She feels that it was a dream and that she wants to wake up from it. It was heartbreaking to watch her break down, and you know, my prayers go out to her. She`s really struggled through this. It was heartbreaking.

As you mentioned, the Putnam County Sheriff`s Office has issued that press release, saying that there are individuals withholding and concealing information from them. We know that they also said that Misty Croslin, along with Haleigh`s father, Ronald, are persons of interest. They`re hiding information.

We also know, Jane, via Tommy Croslin`s sentencing, he was called a suspect in this case. And the judge hammered him, saying, "How could you deal drugs while you`re being looked at as a suspect in the disappearance, probable murder of a child?"

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Let me go back to that. Because what we had heard all along was that Ron was at work. And he made all these phone calls to Misty, trying to reach her, the night that little Haleigh disappeared. So what I had heard originally was that Ron, the dad, was exonerated because people saw him at work. Is there new information on that front?

PAGE: Well, we do know that he was at work. We know that there was a ping from 8 to 8:30, approximately, around that time, but we also know that there have been coworkers that worked at PDM, where he worked, that said that he had been known to sneak out of work in the past.

Kim Picazio, the former attorney for Crystal Sheffield, had stated on your show, Jane, a while back, that Ronald would leave work, get the children, because Misty would leave the children unattended, and he would bring the children and make them sleep in his truck while he worked the night shift.

And there have been witnesses that have came to law enforcement, gave sworn statements that had said that Ronald Cummings was elsewhere instead of at work.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So he`s behind bars, doing time for drug conspiracy. Misty is behind bars, doing time for drug conspiracy. And despite all that pressure, they still have not gotten the truth out of these two individuals as to what happened that night? They`re going to be behind bars for years. You`d think they would have told them.
