A LaGrange man is charged with second-degree murder in the deaths of his wife and infant son.

Christopher M. Piersee, 24, is accused of shooting his wife, 21-year-old Patricia Piersee, and striking their six-month-old son, Landon, in the head with his fist or another object.

A second-degree murder charge implies there was no pre-meditation. Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Jules DeCoster said the charges against Piersee could be amended once the autopsies are finished and the investigation is completed.

Authorities still are trying to piece together what happened. Police got a 911 call from the Piersee home at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities did not say who made the call, but did confirm that Patricia Piersee’s father discovered the bodies.

Authorities said the suspect was treated at an area hospital for undescribed injuries before being taken to jail.

Penn said there had been one complaint of a domestic disturbance at the house within the last several months, but didn’t have a specific date and could not offer more details.

I would guess someone pulls out a gun to shoot some one there not going to put it away and use there fists at that point. Either way a mom and baby are now dead and I hope this dude frys, if he did it.



We now know more about the victims in the tragic murder of a mother and baby in LaGrange Tuesday.

Patricia or "Tish" (Yarbrough) Piersee, 21 and her son, 5 month-old Landon Gabriel Piersee will be remembered by their family as sweet and loving.

Tish Piersee previously lived in Hamilton, Illinois. Family members say she was always smiling and full of life. People who knew her say she was a loving mother, daughter and sister.

Family members say the little guy was a beautiful and happy baby who made everyone smile.

We also have the information on the funeral arrangements for the Piersees. Visitation will be Saturday from 4p.m. to 8 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home in Canton.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home with burial in the Dover Cemetery-Selves Addition.

Meanwhile the husband and father accused of killing his young family is being held in a Missouri Department of Corrections facility for evaluation. 24-year-old Christopher Piersee is accused of murdering his wife Tish and 6-month-old son Landon. Officials say Tish was shot to death...Landon died of a blow to the head. The bodies of the young family were found in the family's home Tuesday. Christopher was arrested Tuesday morning.

He's expected to be transferred back to Lewis County from the Missouri Department of Corrections in the next couple of days.


According to Sheriff David Parrish, the suspect resided at the same home where the crime took place at 409 North Main Street. Piersee was found in the home when the bodies were found, according to the sheriff.

He was arrested at his home on North Main Street where police found the bodies of his young family.

MONTICELLO — The northeast Missouri man accused of killing his wife and infant son has pleaded not guilty.

Christopher Piersee entered the plea Thursday. The 24-year-old LaGrange man is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the February killings of 21-year-old Patricia Piersee and the couple's 5-month-old son, Landon.

The killings happened at the family's home. Patricia Piersee was shot to death; the child had been beaten.

At a hearing last month, witnesses described the murder scene and what they called Piersee's odd behavior. Authorities found Piersee naked in a bedroom of the family's home with the bodies of his wife and son nearby. Investigators found red crosses drawn in blood on both victims' bodies.

Power said that Piersee called himself the archangel Michael and referred to his wife as "Lucifer" and his son as the Antichrist, then disavowed any responsibility for the deaths.
