Jeffrey Allen Poliskiewicz is accused of beating his wife, Melissa McShane, inside a barn on his property while terrorizing her with threats of further violence.
Poliskiewicz told McShane he would "kill her, cut her up and put her in a bag where no one would ever find her". Poliskiewicz then slammed McShane's head against a wall and repeatedly kicked her.
Poliskiewicz began beating McShane because he was upset she did not come home when he called her.
McShane was present during the arraignment and was visibly upset while District Judge Todd Strohe read the allegations against Poliskiewicz.
She said she met Poliskiewicz on Match.com, a dating Web site.
While the incident happened in April, Poliskiewicz was arrested and charged Thursday.
Heidi Markow, of the Beginning Over Foundation, said she and McShane presented the case Tuesday to Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.
Morganelli said McShane did not report the incident to Pennsylvania State Police until two weeks after it had happened.
"They thought it was just a civil fight between a husband and wife," Morganelli said.
After he met with McShane and Markow, he agreed to file criminal charges, Morganelli said.
Morganelli said Poliskiewicz also has a history of about a dozen protection-from-abuse orders filed against him.
"Basically, this man is a danger to society," Markow said.
Morganelli called Poliskiewicz a "serial abuser" who met women on match.com.
Poliskiewicz and McShane filed protection-from-abuse orders against each other following a fight on Feb. 29. McShane claimed her husband hit her, yelled at her, forced himself on her sexually and held a pillow over her face, according to the PFA.
In March, she asked to have the PFA dismissed.
"Jeffrey Poliskiewicz is a good person and so am I," McShane wrote. "Things got blown out of proportion and we are very sorry to get the courts involved."http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/slate-belt/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/123329191484130.xml&coll=3

The Northampton County District Attorney's Office is looking for answers to questions about how state police handled allegations of domestic violence in Upper Mount Bethel Township.
Melissa McShane said she and her teenage children repeatedly sought help form Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast, but their reports of abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Allen Poliskiewicz were brushed off.
"It's like I've been victimized a second time," McShane said. "Once by my husband, and once by the police."
McShane, who is married to Poliskiewicz, finally sought help from victim advocate Heidi Markow. Markow arranged a meeting with Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli and he filed charges against Poliskiewicz.http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/today/index.ssf/2009/01/slate_belt_woman_says_state_po.html
