Kecia Evangela Whitfield, 43, was arrested at her home Friday afternoon and charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor and reckless conduct — both misdemeanors.

Kecia Evangela Whitfield, 43, was charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor and with reckless conduct.

Whitfield is accused of buying alcoholic drinks for her step-son and several of his acquaintances, including Harrison High School athlete Garrett Reed. Following the party on Jan. 23, Reed died in a wreck.

Whitfield was being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center late Friday night with a bond set at $10,000.

Police say Reed drove his car the wrong way into oncoming traffic on Midway Road near Sylvia Drive in the early morning of Jan. 24.

He crashed into a car driven by Richard C. Reyes, 25, of Dallas. Reyes suffered a leg injury and is reportedly in stable condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Kennesaw.

Cobb County Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said investigators followed leads from Reed’s family, fellow students, and parents to determine where Reed had been earlier in the evening.

“They have been relentless in their questioning,” Pierce said.

She looks younger than 43. And why is she smiling?

If Kiki drinks at my house at all she is not allowed to go anywhere. First sip, keys are mine. It is legal to give a spouse or GF alcohol in your house but I don't need my ass in a sling so no go no where. Sorry.

Bitch should have known better. Look at her creepy smile, she probably wanted to be the cool MILF. Gross. Also, 16 year olds know better than to drink and drive. At least this time the drunk driver was killed and not the innocent person they hit.

Yeah, seriously, why is she smiling? Maybe if it were only the charge that she supplied alcohol at a teen party and no one got hurt she could be laughing this was a stupid charge (even though that is a serious one) but a boy died and someone else was injured!

Maybe she was still partying when she got arrested  She wont think its too funny once shes convicted. Im sure the parents of the dead boy will sue her ass as well.

The woman accused of supplying alcohol to a Cobb teenager who later died in a car accident now faces drug charges.

Kecia Evangela Whitfield, 44, was arrested Thursday afternoon at her Powder Springs home, where police found marijuana.

Also arrested at the Marsden Trace home were John Charles Whitfield, 45, and 25-year-old Charles Anthony Whitfield.

Kecia Whitfield was arrested Jan. 30 for allegedly giving four teenagers a nearly half-gallon bottle of spiced rum.

One of those teenagers, 16-year-old Garrett Reed, died shortly after midnight on Jan. 24 when he crashed his car on Midway Road. Toxicology reports showed that Reed’s blood alcohol content was 0.133 at the time of the accident. The state considers 0.08 to be intoxicated for legal age drinkers.

Kecia Whitfield has a June 12 court date set in state court to answer to the reckless conduct charge.

Thursday afternoon, Cobb police executed a search warrant at the Whitfield home. There, cops found approximately 2.8 grams of marijuana was located in a plastic bag and several partially smoked marijuana cigarettes in the kitchen, according to arrest warrants.

In the living room, police found a plastic bag containing approximately 1.4 grams of marijuana and a partially smoked marijuana cigarette were located in the living room on the fireplace mantle. An unburned marijuana cigarette was found on the floor.

A partially smoked marijuana cigarette was also found in the garage, police said.

In addition to drug charges, John Whitfield and Kecia Whitfield also face charges for contributing to the delinquency of minors, according to the warrants. Two children under the age of 18 live in the home.

All three of the Whitfields bonded out of jail Friday morning.

This one is full of "looks"!

http://i30.tinypic.com/2mxevps.jpgA Powder Springs woman has been sentenced to 18 months in jail and 30 months' probation for providing alcohol to minors, Cobb State Court Judge Russell Carlisle said.

Kecia Evangela Whitfield, 44, was found guilty on five counts of furnishing alcohol to minors in a January incident that resulted in a teen’s death. Whitfield was acquitted of reckless conduct.
[...]

Whitfield was also fined $1,300 and must perform 100 hours of community service.

Much of the trial centered around whether Whitfield knew the alcohol she purchased was intended for the other teens. She testified Wednesday in Cobb State Court that her step-son, Lyndon Winfree, took the alcohol without her knowledge.

Lyndon, who was granted immunity in the case, testified that his step-mother knew the alcohol was for the teenagers.

Whitfield said she and her ex-husband, with whom she shares a house, have allowed Lyndon to drink at home under supervision.

“We do because we’d rather him drink at home, because they’re all drinking,” she said, later adding: “They don’t get drunk, but I’d rather them be at home, safe, than out in the street.”

However, she said she has never provided alcohol to other teens and did not know Lyndon intended to provide the alcohol to others.

Whitfield still faces drug charges in a May arrest at her home, where police found more than 4 grams of marijuana.

Also arrested in that case were John Charles Whitfield, 45, and 25-year-old Charles Anthony Whitfield.http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/powder-springs-mom-gets-108832.html
