Ian Aitcheson, Danny Weaver, and Keshjuan Betts A Silverhill man found in his burned mobile home Wednesday was slain before the fire was set.

The body of Robert Paul Aitcheson, 51, was discovered in the living room of his trailer after firefighters put out the blaze just after 1 a.m.

On Thursday, the Sheriff's Office issued a statement saying that the victim had been killed by someone before the fire was set.

He said the fire apparently was set to destroy evidence after Aitcheson was murdered.

Aitcheson's body was badly burned in the fire and officials could not confirm at the scene that he had been killed before the blaze was set.http://www.al.com/news/press-register/metro.ssf?/base/news/1233310546113870.xml&coll=3
The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office arrested a slain man's son and two of the teenager's acquaintances and charged each with capital murder and first-degree arson.

Investigators believe that his son, Ian Aitcheson, 16, along with Danny Weaver, 19, and Keshjuan Betts, 19, entered the 51-year-old victim's home just before 1 a.m. with the intent to rob and murder Mr. Aitcheson.

Money may have been taken from the residence and more arrests could occur.

Ian Aitcheson moved out of his father's mobile home days before the murder and the teen recently became acquainted with Weaver and Betts.

A preliminary autopsy indicated that Robert Aitcheson died from a single stab wound to his upper abdomen, possibly caused by a large knife.

Ian Aitcheson and Weaver were arrested late Thursday night at their residence. Both men admitted to being involved in the crime.

Betts was arrested about 1 p.m. Friday following an interview with investigators.

If convicted of capital murder, Betts and Weaver could face the death penalty. Aitcheson was charged as an adult, but his age would exclude him from the death penalty.

The Sheriff's Office recovered two vehicles and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle from Weaver's and Aitcheson's residence. The vehicles were stolen Thursday from Robert Aitcheson's business, an automobile repair shop.

Ian Aitcheson said in court Friday that he doesn't attend school, but he completed the ninth grade last year. Weaver said he moved back to the area recently after living in North Dakota. (good riddance!)

According to court documents, Weaver was out of jail on $7,500 bail for 2007 charges in Baldwin County that included first-degree theft of property, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree receiving stolen property..http://www.al.com/news/press-register/metro.ssf?/base/news/1233396964235560.xml&coll=3

I'm glad my parents disciplined me when I was a child. Clearly this boy didn't respect his father. I knew that my parents brought me in, they could take me out! Who knows why this kid killed his dad, clearly it sounds like a fucktard evolutionary chain.

Ian has quite a few Myspace PAGES. On the last one it seems as if his girlfriend updated it. If that is the case, what a loser! And one is titled "Convict". How ironic!

http://i44.tinypic.com/23mvj7q.jpgThe Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Amen Lee Robert Wellock for conspiracy to commit murder. Wellock is charged because of his involvement in the planning of the robbery and murder of Aitcheson.

Jeez... are they going to arrest every teenager in that town?

This thing is getting down right weird...
Investigators call 17 year old Amen Wellock the brains behind a gang of teenagers now accused of murder.

"Did you do what they say you did?" "No I did not," says Wellock.

Prosecutors say it was Wellock who made Danny Weaver, also known as 'Chubs', swear an oath to kill Bob Aitcheson as part of a ritual in a self appointed gang.

Last week, investigators say Weaver along with Keshjuan Betts, Darlene Jerkins and the victim's own son, Ian beat and stabbed Aitcheson to death before setting his home on fire to cover the crime.

"How did you get mixed up in all this?" "People talking," says Wellock on his way back to the county jail. "Do you know Danny and all those guys? "Yes ma'am." "Y'all friends?" "Yes ma'am. We used to be." "Did you know Mr. Aitcheson? What did you think of him?" "A very nice man," Wellock says of the victim.

Investigators say Amen Wellock was one of a number of teenagers who either lived or hung out at the mobile home. Jonathan Cook also used to live there and says he knows everyone involved in the murder plot.

"It was normal whenever I stayed there. There wasn't really much violence. There wasn't too many people in and out and we just pretty much stayed to ourselves."

Cook says that all changed when Wellock and Ian Aitcheson started coming around. "Ian, he's crazy. He's got problems just like Chubs does. Darlene she's just there because Chubs is her boyfriend."

Betts is the piece of the puzzle he says just doesn't fit. "He never got in trouble his whole entire life, never."

At a bond hearing, the teenager investigators say helped plan the murder was just a frightened kid, now facing grown up jail time.

"What do you want to tell your parents, your friends?" "I love y'all."

And this may not be the last arrests. Prosecutors call this a "fluid investigation" with more arrests expected.http://www.wkrg.com/crime/article/fifth_teen_murder_suspect_speaks/23348/

Baldwin County Sheriff's Office Cpl. Susan Gross testified during a preliminary hearing:Gross said Ian Aitcheson, Weaver, 19, Keshjain Betts, 19, and Amber Darlene Jerkins, 18, all rode in a green, four-door Honda Accord to the victim's home and parked far away from Robert Aitcheson's home.

The three male teens walked to Aitcheson's home, and entered to find the victim sleeping on his couch. Weaver climbed on top of Aitcheson and Betts put the bag over his head. The bag broke during a struggle, and Betts went outside, shed tears and got sick, Gross said.

Ian Aitcheson went to the kitchen, picked up the knife and handed it to Weaver, Gross said.

Weaver stabbed Robert Aitcheson. Ian Aitcheson removed the knife from his father, wrapped it in paper towels and placed it in a duffel bag, Gross said.

Ian Aitcheson then wrapped a black bandanna around his hand, closed his father's eyes and, Gross said, took $36 from the victim's pocket. Ian Aitcheson had told co-defendants that his father had "stacks" of cash, but that didn't turn out to be the case, Gross said.

The 16-year-old then took gasoline and poured it around and on his father, Gross said.

Weaver told Gross that Ian Aitcheson feared he would go to jail for wiping out one of his father's checking accounts by forging checks in previous months, she said.

"Ian expressed to the defendants that he did not want to go to jail and he had to do something with his father," Gross said.

After the crime, the four teens all left in the car and started throwing out items used during the crime — gas cans, black bandanas used to cover their faces and the knife, Gross said.

Police recovered a gas can and the knife, Gross said. The three teens dropped Betts off at a girlfriend's house, and later returned to the Silverhill scene, Gross said.

Ian Aitcheson said he came to the scene to pick up some of his belongings, Gross said.

Sheriff's Sgt. Tony Nolfe testified that Ian Aitcheson's statements varied. Initially he said he wasn't involved, but later said he intended to kill his father all along.
