For 3-year-old Ethan Diaz (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Ethan+Diaz), the word "murder" doesn't make sense.
But ever since the unsolved Christmas Eve shooting death of his father, the once-carefree tot has become obsessed with death.
"Who took Daddy's life?" the Corona (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Corona+(New+York)) boy constantly asks, relatives said. "What happens when people die?"
Ethan's mother, Saray Simo (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Saray+Simo), 31, said the best answer she can share is that dead people "become angels."
The Dec. 24 barroom slaying of Ethan's dad, Alex Diaz (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Alex+Diaz), 39, has confused more than just an inquisitive toddler.
Diaz was killed in a crowded bar while serving drinks, but no witnesses have come forward to talk to cops about Diaz, his family said.
"I can't believe that after the shooting, everybody at the party just walked out like nothing had happened," said Fenny Simo, Diaz's former sister-in-law.
"I hope someone calls the cops so they catch this person. We need to have justice," added Fenny Simo, 29.
Diaz was moonlighting as a bartender at an illegal party at the Corona Community Center during the early-morning hours of Dec.24.
An intoxicated gunman shot Diaz once in the head after the man's demands for more liquor were refused, Diaz's family said.
Officers found the mortally wounded Diaz slumped over by the bar after the 5 a.m. shooting on 98th St., cops said.
He was pronounced dead minutes later at Elmhurst Hospital Center (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Elmhurst+Hospital+Center).
