A Wayne County man who produced a videotape of himself having sex with an infant will spend more than 12 years in federal prison.
Richard Florack, 56, of Marion, which is east of Rochester, pleaded guilty to producing a videotape of himself molesting an infant who was believed to be between eight and 10 months old, Acting U.S. Attorney Kathleen M. Mehltretter said.
Florack was sentenced in Rochester Thursday to 12 years and one month in federal prison by District Judge David G. Larimer.
Florack pleaded guilty in federal court to a felony charge of producing child pornography.
The Wayne County Sheriff's office worked on the case with U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement agents when a relative of Florack's notified police after discovering the videotape, which police believe was made in late 2001 or early 2002.
Florack will also face state charges for allegedly molesting the infant, authorities said on Friday.
While the case is extremely disturbing, federal agents and prosecutors said it is not highly unusual. A number of child pornography cases in Buffalo and Rochester have involved videotaped molestations of infants and toddlers. more at link...
