Police arrested 52-year-old Danelle Daunchet on child abuse charges on Jan. 7. She's free on $50,000 bail. She didn't immediately return a telephone message Wednesday.
District attorney's spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough says the girl is in the custody of the Department of Human Services.
Police say the girl told them Daunchet used zip-ties to bind her hands, and that she had to sleep on her back so it wouldn't hurt. The girl said her mother freed her with a knife each morning, and she showed officers marks where she said the knife sometimes cut her.
Daunchet is scheduled to be in court Friday.

A Denver woman has been charged with child abuse for using plastic zip ties to cuff her daughter's hands behind her back each night before bed so she wouldn't "steal food."
Danelle Daunchet, 52, is charged with child abuse causing serious bodily injury.
The 10-year-old girl told police that her mother has been tying her hands behind her back every night so she won't get out of bed and steal food, according to the arrest affidavit.
She said this has been going on for a year.
She told police that "when she gets home from school she feeds her dog, completes her homework and eats dinner and if not in trouble will watch TV and then go to bed," the affidavit said.
At about 9:30 each night, she said, her mother "puts the zips on like the police would put on handcuffs and it hurts."
She said she had to sleep on her side so it wouldn't hurt.
The girl said her mother uses a knife to remove the ties in the morning, and showed police marks on her arms from the knife which she said sometimes cuts and pokes her.
Daunchet is due in Denver County Court Jan. 23 for advisement.http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2009/jan/21/mom-accused-cuffing-girl-so-she-wouldnt-steal-food/?partner=RSS
