An Omaha man charged with child abuse resulting in death is being held on $500,000 bail in connection with the death of his infant daughter.
Augustine Rubio, 28Tatina Riveria, 7 1/2 months old, was pronounced dead Friday night at Creighton University Medical Center.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said her father, Augustine Rubio, 28, is responsible for the death. The infant died of severe head trauma, Kleine said.
Douglas County Judge Susan Bazis said today that Rubio must pay 10 percent of $500,000 - $50,000 - to be released from jail.
Kleine said Tatina died from severe head trauma. She was in Rubio's care when the injuries occurred, he said.
According to a police report, emergency personnel were called to 11115 R St. about 9 p.m. Wednesday and discovered that the child was not breathing. She was taken to Bergan Mercy Medical Center and then transferred to Creighton.
Rubio was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse at 4 a.m. Thursday.
Kleine said Rubio faces 20 years to life in prison if convicted of the felony charge
