EL RENO, Okla. -- A young mother and her four children -- ranging in age from 3 to 7 -- were found dead at an El Reno apartment complex, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
BREAKING NEWS: Mom, 4 Children Found Dead
Eyewitness News 5's Kevin Sims reported that the bodies were found in a unit at the Elizabeth Place Apartments at 1955 S. Shepard Ave. in El Reno. Agents did not immediately release any identities or specify how the deceased died.
The OSBI is also looking for the mother's 1989 white Ford Thunderbird that has damage to the front end. Investigators said they had a person of interest in the case by 10 p.m.
Jason Garas, the woman's ex-husband and the father of at least one of the children, told Eyewitness News 5 believes a man was staying at the apartment.
“I don't know about problems. I know she was seeing somebody. He has a few friends I wouldn't think would do it,"

"I don't know about problems. I know she was seeing somebody. He has a few friends I wouldn't think would do it," Garas said.
Eyewitness News 5 contacted OSBI, but officials there deferred inquiries to El Reno police, which declined to release any information.
Another man at the scene, James Franklin, told Eyewitness News 5 that he had just seen one of the children.
"That's my heart. She was just with me today," he said. "She said, 'Paw Paw, I love you.' She said, 'I'll come stay with you next week.'"

Oh, damn! Sounds like foul play to me.
How could someone kill not 1, not 2, not 3 -- but 4 little children!!!! It's unfathomable!
I hope they find whoever did this... NO ONE is safe until they do! This is one of those cases where the death penalty needs to come swiftly - and the more painful - the better!
RIP to the mommy and her babies. Sad, sick and heart-wrenching.

EL RENO, Okla. — An adult and four young children found dead in an apartment here were victims of a homicide, authorities said Monday.
El Reno police received a call about 4 p.m. to check on the welfare of occupants of a unit at the Elizabeth Place Apartments near Oklahoma 66 and U.S. 81, said Jessica Brown, a spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
"An officer went inside the residence and found multiple dead bodies," Brown said. "He backed out and called for help."
Investigators believe the victims are a woman and her four children, who ranged in age from two to seven, Brown said.
Authorities are looking for the woman's vehicle, a 1989 white Ford Thunderbird with possible front-end damage and black molding down the side. Investigators don't have a license tag number, Brown said.
"We're looking for the vehicle as well as the person driving it," she said. "We're hoping that person can help with a timeline of what happened today."
Investigators have an idea how the five died, but Brown didn't release that information. The state Medical Examiner's office will determine a cause of death and when the deaths occurred, Brown said.
A man who showed up at the apartment complex, located about 30 miles west of Oklahoma City, told The Oklahoman that his ex-wife lives in the unit that was surrounded by police on Monday.
Jason Garas said police told him a woman and children are the victims, but they did not give him any names, The Oklahoman reported.
Garas and his ex-wife were divorced on Dec. 10, according to court records. The couple have a 3-year-old daughter, Garas told the newspaper. The woman also has three children from two other relationships, Garas said.
Brown said more than a dozen OSBI agents were assisting in the investigation.http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479765,00.html

How tragic and utterly devastating. How did this person manage to kill an adult and 4 children on his own? He would have had to kill the mother first as should would be trying to save her babies, I'm sure.
An entire family gone, dead by violence. I'm almost speechless.
I hope we hear he drugged them. I just don't want to know that they died a terrible gruesome death. I'll be waiting to hear if this family gets justice....but then is there really justice in the face of such a heinous crime? If he did this terrible thing he should get death.
My deepest, heart felt sympathies to the family and friends.
Little Kirsten, Autumn, Evynn and Teagin...kisses little ones.

EL RENO, Okla. — A man being sought in connection with the deaths of an Oklahoma woman and her four young children was captured in Texas on Tuesday night after a car accident, authorities said.
Joshua Steven Durcho, 25, was taken into custody in Texas' Hamilton County, said Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown.
A Texas Department of Public Safety communications officer in Waco, who declined to give his name, said Durcho was injured in a one-vehicle accident. Authorities checking his identity determined he was wanted by Oklahoma authorities.
Prosecutors earlier Tuesday charged Durcho with five counts of first-degree murder after an El Reno police officer conducting a welfare check found Summer Garas, 25, and her four children dead in her apartment Monday afternoon. The children ranged in age from 3 to 7.
The arrest came nearly 24 hours after surveillance video at a truck stop in Clinton, 60 miles west of Oklahoma City, captured Durcho's image and that of a white car authorities believe belonged to Garas.

At a news conference earlier Tuesday, Brown said there was no known motive for the killings.
"We don't know if it's a domestic that went terribly wrong," she said. "I know they had their ups and downs in their relationship."
Prison records show Durcho was convicted of car theft as a juvenile and was sentenced to four years in prison in 2003 for unlawful possession of marijuana. He was released in February 2007, records show.
"He has been in and out of jail most of his adult life," Brown said.
Besides Garas, daughters, Kirsten Rust, 7; Autumn Rust, 6; and Evynn Garas, 3; and son, Teagin Rust, 4, were killed. Brown said they weren't shot but she didn't specify how the five were killed.
Summer Garas was a student at nearby Redlands Community College, where she was studying to be a legal assistant, school officials confirmed.
"From what I have heard, she was a very intelligent young woman and very well liked by her peers," said Meg Cannon, a spokeswoman for the college. "Obviously, we are going to miss her, and her family is in our thoughts and prayers."
Shelton Bryan, Durcho's stepfather, told The Oklahoman that Durcho sent a text message to his mother about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and called a few hours later, saying he was OK and that he loved her. Bryan said during the short conversation, and Durcho's mother told him to surrender to authorities.
"I don't see a good ending to this unless he turns himself in," said Bryan, who added that the family contacted police about the call. "We don't want this to turn into something worse than it already is."
Bryan said the last time the family saw Durcho was about 8:30 a.m. Monday when he helped his mother with some work, a food delivery to Lucky Star Casino.
Attempts by The Associated Press to contact Bryan on Tuesday night were not successful.
James Franklin, whose wife is Summer Garas' former mother-in-law, said he had a message for Durcho.
"That was wrong, there is nothing that can justify killing a mother and four kids," Franklin said. "I have to deal with this the rest of my life. I can't see my grandkids."
Court records show that Summer Garas and her ex-husband Jason Garas were divorced on Dec. 10.
Crystal Franklin, Jason Garas' mother, said she was devastated by the killings.
"I'm just numb, just not knowing what to think," she said. "The kids were just wonderful."
She said Summer Garas rarely locked her door and helped neighbors when they were in need.
"Summer never met an enemy," she said. "She didn't have an enemy, just loved everybody."
The slayings took place in a tidy apartment complex, with two-story buildings, surrounded by a white picket fence in El Reno, a suburb about 25 miles west of Oklahoma City.
On the front porch of the apartment unit where the killings took place there were several children's bicycles and toys, including a rideable plastic dump truck.
Crystal Franklin said Teagin was fond of monster trucks and had planned to go with his grandparents to a truck show in Oklahoma City.
"They were just full of life, a joy to be around," she said.

EL RENO, Okla. -- Summer Garas was ready to end her relationship with Joshua Steven Durcho and did so Sunday night, according to the slain woman's best friend
Tammra Loyall talked with Eyewitness News 5's Jessica Schambach on Tuesday, a day after Garas and her four children were found dead in an El Reno apartment.
Authorities have identified 25-year-old Joshua Steven Durcho as the suspect in the killings, and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents issued murder warrants against him late Tuesday.
"Summer was trying to better her life. She was going to school and wanted to be a medical transcriptionist. Now, those dreams are forever shattered," Loyall said.
She said Durcho had never been violent toward Garas but that he drank a lot.
Garas recently told Loyall that she was "done with him."
"I talked to her Monday morning. She sounded happy, and we talked about going out on our break," Loyall said.
She waited, but Garas never arrived.
Hours later, Loyall said she heard about a mother and her children being killed. She had a gut feeling it was Garas.
"She was loved by everyone," Loyall said. "No enemies. Everyone liked her. I knew her and Josh were having problems. Nobody else could have done it, nobody."
Loyall said Garas and Durcho had dated for six or seven months.

A man suspected in the slayings of his girlfriend and her four children admitted choking the Oklahoma woman to death, but said the children were not present at the time, according to an affidavit filed in the case.
Joshua Steven Durcho was arrested Tuesday after a car chase with police.
Joshua Steven Durcho, 25, was arrested Tuesday night in Hamilton County, Texas, officials said. He is suspected of killing Summer Rust, 25; her son Teagin, 4; and daughters Evynn, 3, and Autumn and Kirsten, both 7.
All five bodies were found in Rust's apartment in El Reno, Oklahoma, about 30 miles west of Oklahoma City, on Monday.
Durcho's first cousin notified authorities he found the body of Rust, who is identified in the affidavit as Summer Dawn Garas. Police also found the children's bodies in the apartment, according to the affidavit, written by a special agent with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and filed Tuesday in Canadian County, Oklahoma, District Court.
"The Medical Examiner's Office has reported to our agents that the preliminary assessment of the cause and manner of death for all five individuals was asphyxiation, suffocation and strangulation," the affidavit said. "It was also reported that each body had ligature marks around the neck. The ligature marks were also observed by OSBI crime scene investigators."
A spokeswoman for the state medical examiner's office told CNN on Wednesday that the cause of death for Summer Rust and Teagin was strangulation, and that a ligature -- which could include a string, cord or wire -- was used to strangle them. Autopsies on the three girls were being conducted Wednesday, the spokeswoman said.
A woman told police Durcho came to her apartment Monday afternoon and told her he had "choked" Summer Rust to death and that he was leaving Oklahoma, according to the affidavit. The woman asked Durcho about Rust's children, the affidavit said, and "Durcho told her that the children were at their grandmother's residence ... while he and Summer worked out their relationship problems."

The woman called Durcho's mother and told her what he had said about killing Rust, the affidavit said. Durcho's mother drove to the apartment to check on the woman, but no one answered her knocks. She then called her nephew, Durcho's cousin, to accompany her, leading to the discovery of Rust's body, according to the document.
About 6:30 p.m. Monday, the affidavit said, Durcho went to the home of another cousin, a female, and told her "he was in trouble and that he was headed out of state." Durcho was driving Rust's 1989 white Ford Thunderbird, the document said, and asked his cousin to swap cars with him, but she declined. A surveillance video showed Durcho at a truck stop on Interstate 40 about three hours later, driving the Thunderbird, the affidavit said.
Early Tuesday morning, a text message was sent from a cell phone in Durcho's possession to his mother's cell phone, according to the affidavit. Tracking and cell phone records showed Durcho's phone was located in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the time. Later that morning, Durcho called his mother, with the call shown to be from the Abilene, Texas, area, the affidavit said. Durcho's mother said "Durcho told her he loved her and had to go," according to the document. continued at link

A 26-year-old man was arraigned Tuesday on murder charges in the January strangling deaths of his girlfriend and her four small children in an Oklahoma apartment.
Joshua Durcho told a friend he choked Summer Rust but said her children were elsewhere, an affidavit says.
Joshua Durcho told a friend he choked Summer Rust but said her children were elsewhere, an affidavit says.
five counts of first degree murder in the January deaths of Summer Rust, 25; her son Teagin, 4; and daughters Evynn, 3, and Autumn and Kirsten, both 7.
All five bodies were found January 12 in Rust's apartment in El Reno, Oklahoma, about 30 miles west of Oklahoma City.
Authorities believe Durcho killed Rust because she threatened to call the police on him, prosecutors said in court documents released Tuesday.
He knew that likely would bring about his arrest, the documents said, because two outstanding bench warrants had been issued on him after he failed to appear in court in two criminal cases -- one on charges of driving under the influence and the second on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Durcho had previously served time in prison after being convicted of unlawful possession of marijuana and "vowed he would never go back to prison," the court documents said.
Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty against Durcho, according to the documents, which note each victim suffered "severe pain and anguish" as they fought for their lives while being strangled with a ligature, which could include a string, cord or wire. In addition, the documents said, evidence indicates Durcho sexually abused both the 7-year-old girls at or near the time they died.
In Tuesday's arraignment, Canadian County District Judge Edward Cunningham entered not guilty pleas on Durcho's behalf, according to The Oklahoman newspaper.
An affidavit filed in the case, written by an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agent, said Durcho went to the home of an acquaintance January 12 and said he had "choked" Summer Rust -- identified in court papers as Summer Garas -- to death and was leaving Oklahoma.
When the acquaintance, a women, asked Durcho about Rust's children, he "told her that the children were at their grandmother's residence ... while he and Summer worked out their relationship problems," according to the affidavit.
The acquaintance then called Durcho's mother, who drove to the apartment but received no answer at the door, the affidavit said. She asked her nephew, Durcho's cousin, to accompany her, leading to the discovery of Rust's body. The cousin notified police, and responding officers found the children's bodies in the apartment.
According to the court documents released Tuesday, Durcho also told the female acquaintance that he killed Rust because she threatened to call the police on him.
