Dexter Newson Accused Of Shooting Dad Who Said Slow Down

OCALA, Fla. -- A local teenager is accused of gunning down a father who yelled at the teen's car to slow down.

Ocala police said Dexter Newson turned himself in.

Investigators said Newson was a passenger in a car driving down Southwest 7th Place when father of three Dorian Gaskin stepped outside and yelled to slow down.

OCALA, Fla. -- Ocala police said they arrested the shooter who gunned down a father who told him to drive slower through a neighborhood full of children.

A tip led police to 18-year-old Dexter Newson. Police said Newson was a passenger in a car last Wednesday when Dorian Gaskin confronted the driver who was speeding along SW 7th Place (see map).

Gaskin told the driver to slow down and police said that's when Newson opened fire.

Newson is being held on no bond and has been charged with murder.
