11-Month-Old Girl, Mother Found; Suspect On Run

GLENDALE, Wis. -- Glendale police Chief Thomas Czarnyszka said authorities found an 11-month-old and her 28-year-old mother at a Wauwatosa hotel after an Amber Alert was issued for them.

Police said they are both doing fine.

An Amber Alert was issued for their abduction Sunday morning. The suspected abductor is still on the run and police are looking for him.

Police believe the baby was with 29-year-old Wesley Vann

He is a black male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 210 pounds (heavy build), with black hair and brown eyes. He has scars on his abdomen, left arm and left forearm and has a tattoo on his right arm.

Police believe he is traveling in a 2007 dark gray four-door Dodge Charger with Wisconsin license plate No. 994 HZJ. The vehicle has 22-inch chrome rims.

According to police, Vann has a history of violence and is facing charges including false imprisonment and battery.

Officers said that they were alerted to the case by a man who said he heard a struggle between the mother and Vann

I am a wee little bit confused here.... This morning he apparently gets into an argument and abducts his Girlfriend and Daughter thus the Amber Alert that was issued.

However back on November 8th an Arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Vann, also for False Imprisonment and Battery.

I would be curious to know why it took the Milwaukee Police Dept, so long to serve the warrant? Especially since it was a Felony he was wanted for.

BTW: Look in either Racine or Chicago for this clown.

Thats where they all run to when they are on the run.....you guys should know that by now....

MILWAUKEE COUNTY - It was about 9:30 Sunday morning when the Amber alert about missing 11-month old Breonnah Vann hit the air waves.

"Even on Nickelodeon, which is on all day at my house, it kept flashing up," said neighbor Christi Cotton.

But the mother of two was surprised to hear it all may have started in her neighborhood in G lendale .

"It was very scary to think something like that could happen right here where I thought everything would be fine," she said.

Early Sunday morning, G lendale police say they received a call from an unidentified man. That man claimed Carlista English, the toddler's mother, may have gotten into a struggle with her ex-boyfriend Wesley Vann.

Vann is the girl's father. Apparently all three were together.

"Wesley Vann has a history of violence and that was obviously what we were looking at as a real concern," said Joel Dhein with Glendale Police.

They were concerned because Vann was charged with abducting English and their daughter in November. The two were let go but he disappeared. Sunday, he may have reappeared driving English's Dodge Charger.

"A Wauwatosa cop was able to find the vehicle at one of their motels," said Dhein.

That motel was the Super Eight off of Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa . Not knowing who or what was inside, police moved in with guns ready.

"The good news was we found mother and daughter safely," he said.
