WATERLOO (AP) - Waterloo police say they are investigating an alleged assault on a one-week old infant who suffered a severe laceration.

Police and rescue personnel were called to a home at about 3:15 p.m. Thursday and determined the boy was the victim of an aggravated assault.

The baby was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City. The boy's condition wasn't immediately available and police declined to release his name.

No arrests have been made.

No info yet on how badly the baby was cut, but the local news made it sound like the baby is critical.

I will update the thread with more info as it comes in.

I know Siva, it made me want to puke just now watching the news cast. It doesn't say if it was a parent, but it does state "assault". Which means someone intentionally cut that baby.

Found out/suspected baby wasn't his?

Don't know, don't care really because that's pure evil - trying to kill a week old child. There's not a thing in this world that baby has done. This makes me beyond sick, once again.

Do heal, sweet baby.

"At this point, stable, and we're hoping for a full recovery. But it could cut either way I guess being an infant," said Capt. John Beckman, Waterloo Police Dept.

The couple had three other children, all of them have been taken into state custody. Neighbors tell TV9 they've seen police activity at the home several times before this.

Great. Just fucking great. Three more children who have probably been abused by this fucking piece of shit.
