Despite this sounding familiar and doing multiple searches, I couldn't find this here.
A Fort Worth man was sentenced this week to six years’ probation for assaulting his 18-year-old stepson with a wrench after catching him assaulting the man’s 8-year-old daughter.

Last month, the teen was sentenced to seven years’ probation after pleading guilty to the sexual assault on his stepsister. The teen must register as a sex offender.

Both men, whose names are being withheld to protect the girl’s identity, will not have felony records if they complete their probation. If they violate probation terms, however, they could be subject to punishment ranging from five years to life for the teen and 15 years to life for the stepfather, who has a prior felony conviction.

Despite the nature of the crimes, it’s unlikely that a jury would have sent either man to prison because of the unusual circumstances of the intertwined cases, prosecutors said.

The teen was living with his mother and stepfather when the assault occurred. The 8-year-old was visiting her father.

Both adults were in the house when the stepfather caught the teen sexually assaulting the little girl. A medical exam revealed that the girl had been sodomized, and the teen was arrested.

After the teen’s mother posted bail for him, the stepfather picked him up from jail and drove him to an abandoned house in where he beat the young man with a baseball bat and sodomized him with a wrench and other objects.

Prosecutors usually seek prison time for someone charged with sexually assaulting a child. In this case, however, the teen had no prior criminal record and had mental problems stemming from a childhood brain injury. And the main witness against him was the stepfather, a convicted felon, who assaulted him.

"A jury is unlikely to send an 18-year-old with mental problems to prison after he’s already received physical punishment for this offense," the prosecutor said.

Prosecutors had a similar problem with the case against the stepfather. As brutal as his assault on his stepson was, jurors might have identified with the older man’s response to the teen’s assault on his daughter, they said.

"A jury is very unlikely to send a father to prison for beating up an individual who’s raping his daughter," Prosecutor Vassar said.http://www.star-telegram.com/804/story/1077907.html

I think I saw this on the front page but it was a screwdriver? Could there be more than one? Anyway, good for the dad. Lucky he didn't just bash his brains in. At least he left him alive.

I wonder if the step-dad yelled "PWNED!" as he attacked him.

After reading and reading and reading all of the really strange stuff going on in families, maybe even right in my own neighborhood, I have finally come to the conclusion that maybe my family isn't as dysfunctional as I once thought.

I mean we have our dirty little secrets, but they pale in comparison to most, no all, of this. It makes me wonder what is not even getting reported.

So, I did one of those criminal searches for our neighborhood; nothing major popped up. A couple of shoplifting, check frauds, minor dope stuff, DUI's, maybe a domestic or two. The dope misdemeanors made me laugh since I sort of know these people. Too bad the juv doesn't show up. (Yes, I got sort of nosy after starting reading DD.)

I remember the story. It was here somewhere. I couldn't say where. The boy should have gone to prison. His crime was greater. We will be reading about this pedophile kid again. Bah!

As heinous as the punishment the father inflicted on the 18 yr. old, I still think he should be judged by a jury. He committed a unforgivable act of violence on this poor girl, and I call bullshit on the probation punishment...it's also giving the wrong message to other would be sex offenders.

And wtf? if he completes his probation without incident he will have no felony record....completely ludicrous. It's like given this fuctard a pass on rape.

I had to read this a few times as well. Mostly because it was to hard to believe some one acually did some pay back for a sexual abuse.

If I undestand it right , the Stepfather caught his Stepson sodomising his 8-year-old daughter who was visiting, They call the cops and the step son goes to jail. Bio-mom who was also in the house at the time and married to the stepfather who caught him in the act, comes up with the cash to get her son out of jail.
StepDaddy goes to pick him up and makes a little detour on the way back home, to an abandoned house in east Fort Worth where, he beat the young man with a baseball bat and sodomized him with a wrench and other objects.

Hell , that works for me, I would like to shake this man's hand....after he washes it. He still gets big Kudo's from me for manning up and dishing out, some sama ,sama, and what most of us would have wanted to do to him.

The son was arrested and the father issued a warning to his wife not to bail the son out of jail. She ignored him. Much to the father’s surprise, he was the lucky recipient of the son’s call from jail asking for a ride home the next day. Soon after retrieving the son from jail, the father took him to an abandoned home in east Fort Worth to handle things in his own manner; he brutally beat his stepson with a baseball bat and anally raped him with a wrench-like metal tool. The father turned himself in to authorities on Friday but was released after posting a $17,500 bail.

Supervisor for the Fort Worth sex crimes unit Sergeant Cheryl Johnston confirmed that there was “evidence at the scene to corroborate the victim's story” but also stated that “no one can take the law into their own hands.” Or other orifices.

Heck the kid got off lite, most people would have cut off the offening apentage. And what kind of AssHat mother bails out her son after he rapes a little girl in her own home. Fuck her, her son was a ShitHead. Not to mention she was warned not to do it.

if the brain injury made him unable to apperciate what he was doing than how the heck is supposed to do well on probation?

I had too many words. :( Next time I will remember KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)Yes, I agree. Keeping it simple really helped when a "tard" came on the front page and was saying to Morbid that they didn't expect a retraction if the person mentioned was innocent. I searched and got the needed threads and hit the "tard" in the face with them.

Well... I don't fault the father. Convicted felon or not.

I fault them both. I don't believe there are any "mitigating circumstances" for rape.

Your absolutely right Maggie, The thing is the boy was doing it for sexual gratification and the dad was dong it for revenge / vengeance. Its pretty hard as a parent to find out your child was raped much less catch them in the act of it. They probly heard her crying or screaming. The step father showed great restraint by not fucking him up the first time and warned his wife not to bail him out, but she did it anyways.

That makes the boy a person who would probly repeat his crime and the father not at all. Maybe the kid hurt so much he will never do it again. Cause if he went to court he would have got a slap on the wrist to be back on the street doing it again and again till he got caught. I would rather step daddy fucked him up them some other child being raped again.

I say give the dad a medal! These days more parents need to stand up and protect their kids. If Dad hadn't come in the room when he did, it may not have been a one time thing. After the kid was arrested and set free, was he supposed to let that rapist come back into his house, with his daughter? I sure as hell wouldn't convict him, and if they aren't gonna send the little perv to get his ass reamed in jail, then I'm glad he got what he gave that poor little girl and then some.
