Shellie Hernandez, 30, was shot to death outside her apartment.

Her estranged boyfriend, 29-year-old Michael Williams, was arrested few hours later and charged with criminal homicide.

Witnesses said the couple was standing outside her apartment arguing when Williams pulled out a gun and shot Hernandez.

Police said she was holding one of her three children and the other two were standing nearby. All three witnessed their mother's murder.

Williams was arrested in September and charged with aggravated assault after Hernandez reported he put a gun to her head and threatened to kill her.

He was released on $50,000 bond only to be arrested two days later for violating an order of protection taken out by Hernandez.

Williams also has previous convictions for felony drug possession, domestic assault, assaulting a police officer and evading arrest.http://www.wkrn.com/Global/story.asp?S=9451287Shellie Hernandez believed that her estranged boyfriend Michael Williams would kill her when he got out of jail, her mother said. Police believe that's exactly what happened.

"Thanksgiving Day, she told me my goodbyes," said Kathy Allright, Hernandez's mother. "She told me she loved me, that I had done everything I could possibly do for her in her life, and she probably would never see me again and she loved me."

Allright said Williams should have been in jail.

Hernandez filed an order of protection against Williams Nov. 4, saying he had put a gun to her head.

"Michael Williams was abusive," Allright said. "She was scared to death of him."

She was so afraid of Williams that she gave her mother her children's baby albums and told her mother goodbye, Allbright said.

Court documents show Williams violated that order of protection by repeatedly calling Hernandez.

He was arrested, and Allright said authorities notified his parole officer of the violation.

Allright said the parole officer never noted the violation, so Williams was released. She also said the parole officer has since been fired.http://www.wsmv.com/news/18213977/detail.html

Another example of trash walking the streets. Clearly some people are just so mentally unbalanced they should be drowned. And again, an example of how orders of protection do NOT work.

Apparently parole officers don't work either... at least in this case.

There really should be a tougher penalty for that lazy individual than simply becoming unemployed.
