Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man and woman who died more than 18 months apart.

Former English teacher Peter Farquhar, 69, died on 26 October 2015 and Ann Moore-Martin, 83, died on 12 May 2017.

A third man was also arrested in connection with the deaths of the pair, who lived in Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire.

Thames Valley Police said a cause of death had "yet to be determined" for either victim.

Those arrested were:

  • A 27-year-old man from Towcester, Northamptonshire, on suspicion of two counts of murder, two counts of conspiracy to murder, two counts of fraud by false representation, one count of conspiracy to defraud and two counts of burglary
  • A 31-year-old man from Redruth, Cornwall, on two counts of murder, two counts of conspiracy to murder, two counts of fraud by false representation, one count of conspiracy to defraud and one count of burglary
  • A 22-year-old man from Milton Keynes arrested on suspicion of one count of conspiracy to defraud, one count conspiring to commit fraud by false representation and one count of suspicion of fraud by false representation

The victims lived several houses apart on the same street! I wonder what brought those arrested to that particular neighborhood, because they aren't stated as residing there.

Two men arrested on suspicion of murder over the deaths of two neighbours in a Buckinghamshire village have been released on bail.

A 27-year-old man, from Towcester, and a man, 31, from Cornwall have been bailed until February.

They were also arrested on suspicion of fraud and burglary.


A 22-year-old man, from Milton Keynes, who was arrested on suspicion of fraud was earlier released while inquiries continue.

Thames Valley Police confirmed detectives were investigating Mr Farquhar's death when his neighbour was killed.
