PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A man dressed as a tree was arrested Monday afternoon for blocking traffic in downtown Portland.
At the intersection of Congress and High Streets, the man slowly crossed the streets and blocked traffic.
The spectacle gained a lot of attention from the public with many people taking videos and pictures.
Police identified the man as 30-year-old Asher Woodworth of Portland. He's been charged with obstructing a public way. Police say his motivation was to see how people would react to what he called his "performance" and how he might impact "people's natural choreography."
