That message was sent to Roxy Townsend, a friend of Anderson, who told NBC's Dateline, "There have been many reports of cars in Kansas City impersonating police with lights or sirens so now I'm not sure about what "again" means."
Let's not forget Roxy also confidently said "It was exactly 4:42 when she texted me and said, '
I just got pulled over again.' She said 'again' because she gets pulled over all the time."
I also find it telling that it was Toni's parents who put the GPS tracker on her car in the first place (which monitors speed), probably for the very reason Roxy stated above, that she gets pulled over a lot. I'm guessing her parents pay her auto insurance? Otherwise I sure wouldn't be letting my folks put an insurance monitor on my car!
Her parents also say for insurance purposes they had a GPS tracker on her car, but her father told FOX 4 on Wednesday that the device is no longer working.
TIMELINE
Sunday, January 15
4:5-10ish am - Toni left work at Chrome Club shortly after 4am.
4:20am - Toni is pulled over for an illegal lane change by a North Kansas City, Missouri, police officer and is given a warning. Traffic stop lasted seven minutes.
4:33am - Toni's debit card was declined twice at QwikTrip and she puts gas in her car. (I do find it strange that she tried to get cash from an ATM, she should have had cash on hand from her job.)
4:42am - Texted her friend Roxy "omg just got pulled over again."
That's a pretty tight timeline for her to do all of that at the QwikTrip and get pulled over for a second time. It makes more sense that she got gas, tries several times to get money from the ATM, then texted her friend that she wa pulled over again.
She didn't text that same friend when she got pulled over the first time, and she didn't say "omg I just got pulled over twice in 20 minutes!"
I was wondering what Toni's parents thought about that petition her boyfriend started and they are not fans:
Toni's parents say they did not get that petition going and they trust that police are doing the right thing.
"We just don't want to take a chance pressuring them, or putting undue pressure on them to release something if they're not prepared to do that," Toni's father, Brian Anderson says.
There have also been several posts showing up on social media saying Toni's phone has recently "pinged" in an area. However, Brian Anderson says he has not heard of that and believes if it was true, police would have told him.
If it weren't for that disabled GPS at the QwikTrip, I would be thinking foul play. But the more time that passes, I don't know what to think!
