Police said Allen then drove more than 40 miles in a Chevy Malibu to his job at the Danevang Farmer's Co-Op in the 11300 block of Texas 71 and stabbed his boss.

Both victims were taken by Life Flight helicopters to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Separate police sources Friday said the victims remained in the hospital

Allen, who has a lengthy criminal history including convictions for manslaughter, numerous weapons charges, assault, forgery, robbery and theft, called his mother Friday afternoon.

Allen is being held without bond until arraignment. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, attempted capital murder, aggravated robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
