longtime California Highway Patrol sergeant nearing retirement now faces child pornography charges.

Eric Lund, 49, is from Chico, but was arrested in Fairfield at the CHP office where he works.

He lives part of his professional life in the public eye, but in his personal life, neighbors describe him as reclusive,

Vacaville Police had a mystery of their own. Using sophisticated software, a detective was tracking an unknown person downloading child pornography in Suisun, Fairfield and Vacaville.

So two totally similar professions, as well different states, but I looked this up in my handbook being curious. I would imagine there are variations, but here regardless of y I leave, even if I'm charged with a crime, including one like sleeping with an inmate, the rules r the same. <10 years of service, I receive my total contributions back and that's it. >10 years I will not get my contributions back and have to accept a vested retirement benefit. I'm assuming most law enforcement is fairly similar.

Long story short. It's likely this prick will still keep his pension coming in. Maybe someone will throw a few bucks on his commissary so he can get some Doritos every once in a while.

I lived in a village outside Fairfield for 12 years, a lot of kids went missing in the general area, but that's ancient history.

If you look where Chico is in relation to Fairfield, you'll see why he stayed in Fairfield for the week.
I'm not comfortable at all with the neighbors never seeing the kids, and that he discouraged any overtures of friendship from the neighbors. If the kids were "home schooled" I'm really going to be concerned.
