detectives say a pair of conniving burglars posed as a newly engaged couple looking for their first home — but were in fact scouting the place out for a robbery.
Tyler Michels, 25, and Rebecca Weismayer, 23, were arrested and charged with burglary after breaking into a 76-year-old man’s home in Forsyth County

The pair — whom cops believe aren’t even dating — remained in jail on Tuesday, as the sheriff’s office investigates whether there are anymore victims.
The unsuspecting homeowner showed the two suspects around the house, which allowed them to identify things they wanted to steal. Michels and Weismayer waited until the homeowner left before breaking in and stealing jewelry from inside several bedrooms, Deputy First Class Doug Rainwater told

The pair then took the jewelry to a local pawnshop. Rainwater said they used the money from the sale to purchase drugs. Cops have not yet determined the cash value of the items.

Michels initially ran, but deputies tracked him down in a wooded area in nearby Roswell.
“Michels had cocaine on him in his pocket and had just shot up some heroin,” Rainwater said about the man’s arrest.
Michels is now being held on $39,800 bond, while Weismayer’s bond was set at $16,600.
