A crazed Canadian man on board a commercial airplane cruising above West Virginia threatened to bomb his own country, forcing the pilot to turn around as two American fighter jets escorted the plane back to Toronto

My father was boarding a flight yesterday and aircanada said in an announcement "we will be boarding in a few minutes, but we have emergency information cards to fill out for those that wish to leave an emergency contact with us".

A young woman shouted "what the fuck did you just say"?

To tell you the truth, all I hear from the father is someone desperate who has tried to get his son help (23 times?) and is part exasperated and part relieved that he has finally done something that means the authorities will listen......

But how can you just assume from his name that he's not a native born Canadian? I live in the us. My ex-boyfriend was Hispanic and had a traditional Mexican name. Someone told him to go back to Mexico, but his family has been American for like three generations.

I dont know where Ali was born but his dad wasnt born here
he and relatives have been all over news here
he is the one bitching after coming here and getting free health care and knocking the system down then I still stand behind my go back where you came from then
If its not good enough care then take him home to your country and get it there
tired of people coming here getting free health care and whatever else they get (and I know for a fact they get $1500.00 a month when they first come here ( prob more now that was couple years ago)

Ali Shahi (...) was released on $1,000 bail after appearing at a Brampton court.

Shahi was ordered not to board a plane or enter Pearson International Airport as part of the conditions of his release.

Outside the courthouse his father Sadegh Shahi said that his son will be sent to a hospital for a psychological assessment for at least 72 hours at the request of his family.

How do I immigrate to Canada? That's more than I make at my job in the states.

extremely easy actually
and only way I now how much they get (got) a month is usually in the summer I took off from my job and worked 8 weeks for the city with new arrivals (covering vacationing city workers because my friend does the hiring for workers to cover it and its more then I make at my job)
I also do the census for my area when its done every couple years
and they all want to go by what tribe they are in their country
everytime its an argument because thats not recongnized here
and thats when I start hearing how shitty Canada is
so yeah maybe Im jaded from hearing so many times how great their country is and how crappy mine is
but bottom line is we dont recognize tribes here and they dont like that
