http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/new...ned-with-ASBO-for-loud-Roy-Orbison-music.html

With a combined age of 136 and a house in the suburbs of Plymouth, grandparents Robert and Christine Fox hardly fit the stereotype for perpetrators of anti-social behaviour.

Yet they have been threatened with an ASBO by their local council after neighbours complained they were playing their favourite Roy Orbison and Fleetwood Mac songs too loudly.

Council workers turned up at their home last week to issue them with a stern letter, warning them that their neighbours apparently do not share their taste in Sixties rock.

They will return with specialist equipment to monitor noise levels and ensure the Foxes do not turn up the decibels once again.

They are only 68 yo each, it sounds so old when you combine it to 136 and call them pensioners.

O-Order?

The O I'm not sure about, we might should ask @Abroad or another of the Brits here.

I love Roy Orbison and fleetwood mac.

Me, TOO!, we must be that age! LOL I loved Fleedwood Mac in the late '70's

What is ASBO

ASBOs are civil orders to protect the public from behaviour that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. An order contains conditions prohibiting an individual from carrying out specific anti-social acts or (for example) from entering defined areas.

Musta been more to this.

I wonder just how loud it was. I like pretty much any kind of music, so it probably wouldn't have bothered me.

These idiots :finger: should just thank god they don't live next door to me.....

If Fleetwood Mac and Orbison is loud and annoying
.. I'm sure Internal Bleeding and Black Sabbath would have me committed :YOW:

They just have a hair up their ass for these people ...
...and they used the music as an excuse to be dicks :shifty::finger::finger:

Don't the "council workers" have anything better to spend their time and money on than monitoring the decibel level of "Leather and Lace?"

You are correct about it being " O for Order". (I always end up saying "disorder" myself when I am speaking the words out.)

And loud music is exactly the sort of thing an ASBO would be used for. It is for anything that could be construed as inconsiderate of the community, be it teenagers hanging about on street corners smoking or loud music played late every night or people revving cars threateningly when neighbours cross the road.

I doubt it was a single instance of it.

The guy was hurt that no one bothered to approach them with the issue. Apparently their neighbor decided to bypass that bit of courtesy and report them instead. So uncool. Who would be afraid to approach older people blaring Roy Orbison? It's not like they had MacArthur Park on auto-replay.

Maybe they were drunk. I've had neighbours like that, the ones that get drunk and play the same

songs over and over again...its pathetic and annoying.

IF they were wasted then I can appreciate going to council because I won't argue, confront

or try to reason with drunk people...sometimes reasoning with sober people is hard enough

so NOPE!
[doublepost=1466808550,1466808281][/doublepost]Fleetwood Mac is awesome my Dad bought me Rumours for Christmas the same year I got my

first record player...My mom got me Strawberry Short Cake sing along and mini pops.

I think I was ten.

Probably people older than they are. If it's too loud, you're too old!!
