Russell has followed in the footsteps of fellow Pawn Star personality, Corey 'Big Hoss' Harrison, who also became concerned about the impact his size was having on his health.

But instead of slimming naturally, Harrison had lap-Band gastric band fitted. The surgery saw him lose more than 100lbs in just five months.

He and Chumlee are one of the four main characters on Pawn Stars, which has been running since 2009 and chronicles the daily activities at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop - a family business opened in 1989.

Thanks @Victoria ! I think that's a great pic of the Chummeister. He's not exactly an aesthetic masterpiece IMO either (lol @DIAFplease , "mongoloid"), but I think his personality makes up for it. He's just a big, overgrown kid. And you oughta see what he has hanging on his arm IRL when the papanazi catches him out and about at the clubs. :jawdrop: Seriously hot women!

I've commented on their feed before that if he wasn't on the show, these fame and money whoring bimbos wouldn't give him the time of day, but if that's what gets him righteous tail and keeps him out of the Friend Zone, cash in on that shit while you can, buddy. :joyful:

Re: the show, I've always liked it. I love seeing the customers and the historical stuff that comes through there, and their regular crew of specialized experts/specialists who come in to eval. for comparative auction value are outstanding.

But, there is one thing I don't like about them IRL even though I can't really blame them for doing it in a capitalist society. For anyone who may be thinking about stopping by the shop the next time you're in Vegas, be forewarned, when they're filming/in production, there's a $5.00 "cover charge" just to get in the damned store and spend your money. :gas:

Think he was using meth to dump the lbs.?

I agree. I'm sure half the things on there are set-ups, but it's fun to watch because there's a lot of interesting information.

About Chumlee... I saw a TMZ story once where his "posse" got in a fight with somebody. I forget the circumstances, but Chumlee didn't come out of it looking cool. This new story kind of confirms that, and it's a bummer, 'cause I liked the dude. If he actually assaulted someone, I hope he pays for it.

Awwwww I fell asleep to fat Chumlee telling some chick something was fake last night. Too bad he's a scum bag, I used to like him.

My favorite episode was when he got an LP of Bob Dylan's and they wanted him to get it autographed and Bob signed it To Chumlee. Haha.

Hey, that was great information. *knuckle bump* I hadn't heard about him and his crew getting into a brawl, but after pulling it up, I think you just hit the nail on the head. Lookie what I found:

I like the characters on Pawn Stars. Especially the old man. I don't believe he is as grumpy as he pretends to be. (That's probably only because my family plays a game involving deciding which TV characters each family member "is" and it was unanimously decided without any debate that I am "The Old Man." I pointed out a few irregularities in the voting process, but no one cared. Worse, I've been told that there is no appeal process available.)

I enjoy hearing the history of the items brought in. But a few episodes was enough, because I get bored quickly.

Chumlee hasn't been convicted or even charged with the sex crime. Celebrities tend to attract all sorts of golddiggers, and some of them use false accusations to try to get what they want. So I'm withholding judgment until we know more about that.

As for the gun: Chumlee is a pawnbroker. Pawnbrokers have always been allowed to buy and sell guns as long as they followed the rules. Now Nevada won't let pawnbrokers buy or sell guns. But these are people who probably all have a few guns left around the house from the old days before gun registration laws. I would have to know more about this charge before I got judgmental, too.

And the meth: So Chum's gotten into the drugs. It's a trap a lot of celebrities fall into, and Chumlee is considered the break-out star of the show. He is extremely popular, actually. As long as he wasn't selling meth, I can't demonize him for possession and use, either. I hope the charges result in him getting some treatment and realizing that even though he gets underwear in the mail from hot women, his shit still stinks and he can still get addicted.

As for being thieves, I disagree. Pawn shops provide a valuable service to a segment of the population by offering short-term loans that are automatically satisfied if the borrower can't pay them back. They are a much cleaner, fairer alternative to payday loans for people who have no other fallback resources besides the things they own.

Additionally, there is a large group of "collectors" out there who make money to buy new items by selling some of their old ones or liquidate some of their collection when they need money more than they need their hobbies. These guys don't pay retail for their stuff in the first place, and they don't usually lose any money when they sell to a pawn shop. If they do lose a little, they make up for the loss when they get a really good find and actually make a little off of it.

19 counts on drug charges!? :fish:

I get him owning a gun, and the sexual assault, I can see it being six of one, half a dozen of the other depending on who you ask since they didn't include those charges on his warrant (waiting for any avail. pics to show up online from the complainant), but 19 counts sounds like "Intent to Sell" rather than personal use where I'm from, unless they're combining the weed with the meth which I'm guessing from the write up, they probably are. Too busy to look atm, does anyone know what Nevada's personal use law is for weed?

From @giantblue's link

A stash of 12 guns and a collection of methamphetamine, marijuana and anxiety medication landed Chumlee of “Pawn Stars” behind bars.

Authorities found most of the 33-year-old’s secret guns and drugs arsenal in a vault in his master bedroom while searching the residence in connection with a sexual assault case, according to the arrest report, which was made public on Tuesday.

The locked vault held seven capsules of methamphetamine and 17 Xanax bars, along with most of the weapons which ranged from handguns to a shotgun and assault-style MP5 and .223-caliber rifles.

The list of narcotics seized in the Las Vegas home also included a large plastic bag with 116 grams of marijuana, an additional two jars with 11 grams of the drug, plus a bag with another 4.4 grams of pot.

Chumlee, born Austin Russell, was initially reluctant to open the vault to detectives and eventually asked for “leniency” for his cooperation.

The reality star’s cache was extensive enough for him to explain he wasn’t a drug dealer but simply smoked “a lot of weed,” and buys the drugs in bulk, police said.

The Gold and Silver Pawn shop worker also boasted a “Chum Chum” room in his house, which featured a dance pole and had drug paraphernalia such as rolling papers, baggies, a pair of scales and a rolld up $1 bill with white residue.

Officials have yet to file charges in the ongoing sex-crime investigation against Russell.

No official charges have been filed since the beloved “Pawn Stars” character posted his $62,000 bail on Thursday.

Russell is expected in court on May 23.

A Chum-Chum Room!? LMBFAO!

'Chumlee' of 'Pawn Stars' won't see jail on guns, drugs charges

Chumlee is taking a plea deal.

Austin Lee Russell, known as "Chumlee" on Pawn Stars, said in court Monday that he's taking a plea deal that would keep him out of jail on charges filed after guns and drugs were discovered in a search of his home in March.

David Chesnoff, Russell's lawyer, confirmed that the popular reality TV star, will plead guilty to a felony weapons charge — unlawful possession of a firearm —and to a gross misdemeanor of attempted drug possession, in a deal calls for three years' probation and counseling.

If he stays out of trouble until 2019, the felony charge would be dismissed and Russell would be left with only a misdemeanor conviction on his record, Chesnoff said. If not, he'll face two to five years in state prison on the weapon possession charge.

I liked him better when he was fat. Now he looks like a deflated penis shaped balloon.
The only way any chick would fuck him requires all of the narcotics found at his place especially given he has a fucking chum chum room. I mean seriously? I wouldn't be surprised if most of his dates he picked up off the Vegas strip.

Though I'm more concerned with the sexual assault, he did have drugs at his residence. I don't know how he got around those charges.

Oh, I agree that the sexual assault is far worse. I was just wondering about "attempted drug possession", since usually people either possess drugs or they don't. Did someone sell him something he thought was drugs, but which wasn't?

The drug-possession charges could have been reduced to attempted-possession in order to make the plea deal possible. Other than that I got nuthin'.

What makes me think this may be the reason is the drug charges are what his convictions are for, and they are misdemeanors. If he keeps his nose clean (no pun intended), he keeps the drug convictions on his record but the weapons-possession charges -- which apparently stem from his drug usage in conjunction with his having the firearms -- go away.

NB: I am not an attorney nor do I play one on stage, screen, or TV.
