For completeness's sake, since his erstwhile roommate Leo A. Nopolous just pled guilty to beating hell out of his cat:

IOWA CITY — An Iowa City man faces 18 counts of sex abuse for allegedly committing sexual acts with an “incapacitated” woman and recording those acts without her knowledge.

Nathan Schloss, 23, originally came to the attention of police two months ago, when he captured video of his roommate allegedly torturing Schloss’ pet cat, Fritz. Police say that in the course of investigating that incident, they found additional videos showing Schloss committing sexual abuse against a woman.

Police said that in almost all cases, the victim had no idea the abuse occurred.

According to charges provided by the Iowa City Police Department, Schloss faces 18 counts of third-degree sexual abuse. Each charge carries a potential sentence of 10 years in prison. Iowa City police Sgt. Scott Gaarde said Schloss had “multiple” victims and police are searching for more.

Police said that while all 18 charges involve one victim, there are multiple victims involved and more charges are to come. Police have not given a definitive number of victims.
To be honest I am more than a little surprised that nopolous's defender @Jacob Patterson didn't post this earlier in his vain attempts to divert attention from his buddy nopolous's crime. Be that as it may, here it is -- late though not forgotten.

IOWA CITY — Make it 40 charges against the Iowa City man accused of sexually abusing an incapacitated woman and recording it.

According to trial information filed Monday, 23-year-old Nathan Schloss now faces 22 counts of invasion of privacy in addition to the previous 18 counts of third-degree sexual abuse. Invasion of privacy is a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail. The sexual abuse charges each carry a potential 10-year sentence.

There are six invasion of privacy charges that do not correspond with a sexual abuse charge. In those instances, it appears as though Schloss made recordings of the woman, but did not abuse her. Assistant Johnson County attorney Dana Christiansen declined to comment on that aspect of the case.
OWA CITY — The Iowa City man accused of abusing an intoxicated woman and recording it is scheduled to go to trial in April.

According to court records, 23-year-old Nathan Schloss is scheduled to go to trial on April 7. His final pretrial conference is scheduled for March 27.

Schloss is accused of 18 counts of third-degree sexual abuse and 22 counts of invasion of privacy. He pleaded not guilty to those charges on Friday.

Police said Schloss abused a woman multiple times over a period beginning in May 2012 and continuing until Sept. 8, 2012. Videos of the alleged abuse depict Schloss touching the incapacitated woman and, in some cases, penetrating her. Police said the woman had no idea she was sexually assaulted or that the alleged abuse was recorded.

IOWA CITY — When Nathan Schloss turned over a hard drive to police, he hoped to implicate his roommate in an animal abuse investigation .

He succeeded — but unwittingly made himself the focus of a sexual assault investigation in the process.

According to a search warrant affidavit released Thursday, Schloss’ hard drive contained 196 videos, most of which appeared to be homemade pornography. While the videos had been deleted, they were recovered through a forensic process by police trying to view the alleged cat abuse video.

“Obviously, this investigation was initiated after a separate investigation,” Iowa City Police Sgt. Scott Gaarde said Thursday. “The search warrant led to the current status of the case.”

Those videos, which were deleted from the drive but recovered through a forensic computer, led authorities to charge the Schloss with 18 counts of third-degree sexual abuse and 22 counts of invasion of privacy. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges, and his trial is scheduled to begin April 7.

The trial date for an Iowa City man facing 18 counts of sexual abuse and 22 counts of invasion of privacy has been pushed back to July.

According to online trial information, the trial date for Nathan Schloss, 23, of Iowa City, was moved from April 7 to July 14 at the Johnson County Courthouse.

The online trial information stated the date was moved to extend the deadline for pretrial motions.

Schloss was arrested Dec. 19 and charged with 18 counts of sexual abuse. Police complaints alleged that Schloss recorded and photographed himself engaging in sexual acts with visibly incapacitated women.

I should have looked for more information before I put the first post up.

Hopefully more sickos like this one will be their own undoing as I am sure there are thousands of these animals still out there. It appears this disgusting animal attracted another animal and these room mates are a perfect match. I marvel at the stupidity level of Schloss. He's upset at his room mate beating up his cat but he's been preying on special needs people. Beating a cat doesn't please me in the least but it's like the huge kettle calling the tiny pot black. I am glad to see both of them found out about and maybe prison can teach both of them how to be responsible human beings!

You know, if you're trying to nail your roommate for his bad behavior which you have on videoed and saved on a hard drive then it's probably a good idea to remove the photographic evidence of YOUR bad behavior from said hard drive before giving it to the police.

Window-licker.

Nathan Schloss will spend up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty Monday to charges he recorded himself sexually abusing a woman multiple times over the course of several months.

The former University of Iowa student initially faced 40 charges — 18 counts of sexual abuse and 22 counts of invasion of privacy over a period of about 15 months — and police warned there could be “multiple victims.”

But he was never charged with abusing any other victims, and the plea deal he entered Monday was for far fewer charges spanning a shorter time frame.

Schloss, 26, pleaded guilty to five counts of invasion of privacy and one new charge, assault causing serious injury, a Class D felony.

Schloss’ actions were discovered when he turned over a hard drive to police as part of their investigation into the abuse of his cat, Fritz, by Schloss’ roommate at the time. Police said they uncovered videos depicting a woman lying naked in bed either asleep or passed out and Schloss engaging in sexual activity with her.

During Monday’s hearing in front of 6th Judicial District Judge Paul Miller, Schloss, accompanied by his attorneys, J. Dean Keegan and Thomas Farnsworth, did not speak except to provide “yes” and “no” responses to Miller’s questions.

The judge asked Schloss if he admitted to making “offensive contact” with a woman and if that contact resulted in a “disabling mental illness.”

“Yes, your honor,” he replied.

Under the plea agreement, which covers a period of May 2013 to November 2013, Schloss will be sentenced to up to five years for the assault charge and up to one year for each of the individual invasion of privacy charges. The sentences will run consecutively for a period of up to 10 years.

Schloss will be forced to register as a sex offender for 10 years and will be on probation for 10 years following his prison sentence.
