Authorities in Congo collect the burnt remains of the suspected terrorist who was stoned to death by a lynch mob before being burnt and eaten

Witnesses say the man was set upon after riding a bus and the passengers became suspicious when they found him carrying a machete
[....]
mob stoned to death a suspected terrorist before burning his corpse and eating him in revenge for a series of attacks in Congo that have left 100 people dead.

Witnesses said the young man, who has not been identified, aroused suspicion on a bus in the north east of the country when passengers discovered he could not speak the local Swahili language and that he was carrying a machete.
[...]
he was then stoned to death by the crowd before his body was burned and eaten.
The incident in the town of Beni comes following a number of overnight raids in the area blamed on the Islamist group ADF-NALU.
[...]
Ugandan rebels are thought to have massacred more than 100 people this month, using hachets and machetes to kill their victims.

Speaking from the town of Beni, Congo's President Joseph Kabila said the ADF-NALU militants would face the same fate as the rebel movement M23, which was defeated by a UN-backed government offensive last year.
[...]
'There is no question of negotiation with the terrorists.

'They will be defeated as was the case with the M23. And it will be very soon.'

ADF-NALU is an alliance of groups opposed to the Ugandan government that has operated from bases in neighboring Congo since the mid-2000s.
[...]
movement was blamed for the deaths of 14 people, who were killed early on Thursday in the village of Kampi ya Chui, bringing the total death toll this month to at least 107, said Teddy Kataliko, president of the Civil Society of Beni.

Tensions ran high in the town this morning with around 100 demonstrators blocking the road from the airport into town, throwing stones and waving machetes to demand greater government protection against the rebels.
[...]
government officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Earlier in the week, the government sought to downplay the threat posed by the group, which it had previously said was defeated in an operation earlier this year.
Estimates of its strength vary greatly, but the website of the UN's peacekeeping mission in Congo estimates it has around 500 fighters.
[...]
Ugandan government has said ADF-NALU is allied with Somalia's al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab movement, but analysts say the nature of these ties is not clear, despite the ADF-NALU's clear Islamist ideology.

In his speech on Friday, Mr Kabila appealed for public support for a ramping up of its offensive against the group, but did not specify what that would entail.
He added: 'I call on the population to support the army because the victory against the M23 was because the population was behind the army.

'I call on young people to join the army in great numbers.'
[...]
also defended the UN peacekeeping mission known as MONUSCO following criticism from locals that it had failed to defend them and had even collaborated with ADF-NALU.

Crowds of mainly young men attacked several peacekeeping facilities with stones and bows and arrows last week, forcing the evacuation of some staff.
[...]
U.N. mission says it has stepped up patrols in the area in the wake of the massacres.

Perhaps they were going for the stay the eff away affect, i.e. Vlad the Impaler.

Henceforth, Congolese the Consumers!!

Way to make a unified statement.

Anthropophagy is usually a religious ritual; that's what most experts believe happened to Michael Rockefeller. THAT was right off the coast of Borneo. The islanders consumed the flesh of the victim to take in his courage and strength. I've heard of cannibalism in Africa, but I thought it was long in the past. Any idea why they ate the suspected ISIL?

kenna, that's about all ISIL is good for. Personally, I wouldn't feed them to my dog...I respect my dog and keep her safe from eating disgusting things like 3-day old roadkill and ISIL fuckwads.

Cannabalism in the Congo is pretty ancient in practice and regardless of the year we currently live in, that area, especially remote villages, still adheres to many ancient customs. Their recent history has rebel armies cannabalizing villagers to keep them subservient, nice turn of tables, eh?
Consumption of an enemy is a pretty old act of showing the paramount sign of disrespect for said enemy/meal, generally :chicken:

Backassward, fucked up people. Africa will never have any respectable level of civilization. What a heap.

Other than that, I'm all for stoning ISIS members to death.

Cuz merely carrying a machete and not speaking the local dialect = ISIS

I really hope America never dives in and offers any help to countries like these. Bad enough we meddled in the affairs of shitholes like Libya and Syria. Good on them for not diving in head over heals when the girls in Nigeria were kidnapped. These countries are fucking trash. The common people commit atrocities, the known terrorist groups commit atrocities, the gov'ts commit atrocities. Let em kill eachother.

Jack, we're there and have been for some time. Hard to say to what extent our involvement with this particular bunch of fuctards is, but we have lots of boots on the ground all over that shithole continent. In Niger, and Nigeria as well. In some areas it's all behind the scenes, but rest assured we are there- making sure the natural resources are going in the right directions , oh wait, i mean bringing peace and stability, and curing the ebola that Soros, and the Gates' released on them.

My sig other has been in and out of the continent for "work" for several years. When asked if I wanted to meet up during a break in his last rotation my response was FUCK NO.
Africa & Mexico, nothxnoteven4free

Africa is many things and we mostly hear of the bad. There are places I would not be happy going (Liberia, anybody?), but others I would jump at experiencing.....
I have been to Ghana and was received beautifully and while I am positive there are still safe places to be a tourist, I just hear the horror stories from him weekly and it makes me very apprehensive.
I'd rather wait until some of the unrest has been quelled.

Nah, gotta be SBR's. Someone on here got me to try Ray's, now I won't use anything else. Especially on bbq'd terrorist, I'd have to have my favorite sauce.
Sweet Baby Ray's is my husbands favorite. It's too thick for me. I love Dino Bbq... I don't think even the most delicious bbq sauce in the world could make me eat human flesh.. ISIS or not :hungover:

Ah, you just have to learn to eat and not ask many, okay, any questions. I have old German relatives, you don't ask what or how, just just shut up and eat it.

Yeah i know we have a presence, i was meaning i hope we don't get TOO involved, like on the level of our involvement in places like Iraq/Afghan or even Korea. Also don't want us to engage in any war fighting there. Training and supplying weapons is going way too far i think.

There are more govt contractors there now than actual US military, but it does appear as though we are laying the groundwork for upping our military presence. We are certainly arming, training and are remotely involved in conflicts that would be hard to directly trace back to Langley. The ebola and isis situations are the perfect foot in the door situation. Let me put my foil hat on for this last sentence.. The goal is to have the entire world overwhelmed with conflict, disease and poverty.

Agreed. Am/Euro money runs the Imperialist governments and has since the late 1400's, esp. in Nigeria. From the moment all the best "goodies" we treasure (prec. gems, prec. metals, etc.) were found in "Mother Africa," tribal leaders (and post Oct. 1960 govs.) have been selling their own people, and each other out ever since.

I bought my ticket months ago to accompany a very close friend/"adopted fam. member" to his wedding back home in Nigeria in Jan. (he's Igbo), but as much as I want to go (and I really, *really* do), the increase in shit that's been going on there according to the Yoruban and other local newspaper/newswires gives me pause. I'd *like* to know I was coming back alive.

See i agree 100% with the goal, but that's why we need to just stay away. These countries will fuck themselves up just fine. I mean removing the iron fisted dictator from places like Libya and Iraq certainly helped things along in those nations, but most countries will resort to savagery and barbarism without any nudging.

Soooo......just sayin' .....what if he was fearful of ISIS so he was carrying a weapon "just in case" as protection?

It's so embarrassing to eat the wrong person.

Did they verify that this guy was tied to ISIL, or was that left for speculation?

The only reason ISIL was mentioned in the article, or in the title of this thread, was too gain more views. This has fuck all to do with ISIL. He was carrying a machete...in the Congo...lol.

I'm sorry. I just do not think these people would give 2 dumps for anyone anywhere else in the world if we weren't there telling them how to live and fire bombing them.

Just reverse roles for a second. China comes by and says "hey guys, do things our way, or die". All I'm saying is I agree with @David Webb, but I will not take off the foil hat. I think it's super cute :p
