NYPD is abusive and corrupt to an almost comical degree.
Based on all the reruns of Law & Order I've seen, I don't believe that's how that's supposed to work. Aren't minors supposed to have their parents present during questioning?

And denying someone life-saving medicine in order to obtain a confession you already know is false seems a bit over the line to me.

I'm guessing if the victim had been diabetic they would have pulled out his insulin pump too until he changed his story to what they wanted to hear. Heaven forbid the cops do any actual investigating beyond pulling up Facebook and arresting the first "Richie" they see.

What the actual fuck is going on with NYPD? This is insane and I thought kids couldn't be interrogated without a parent.

This is seriously fucked up. My best friend's 17 y/o son has an insulin pump and his quit working yesterday. His blood sugars were down to 28 at times. He could have died. Insulin pumps are not something to play around with.

I wonder what steps the NYPD will take next to keep the bricks in their Blue Wall intact?

My step son has an insulin pump that quit working, he didn't know it wasn't working and gave himself his insulin before bed thinking it went through, and he was in the hospital for 6 days his blood sugar didn't even register on his meter (it goes to 600) and that was after 1 night, he was so sick and he only missed 1 dose. You don't play with insulin and any kid who knows how bad it feels to be way high or way low would do anything to avoid that feeling.

Fyi a pump can be safely removed for less than 1/2 hour to shower or bathe or swim for a short time after that it gets pretty dangerous.

This was a violation of this boys human rights. I expect he'll get a hefty settlement.

Ahhh the American way...throw money at it! Don't fix the root of the problem; just give enough money to quiet them while more victims and payouts are made! Yep. That is working JUST GREAT!

I thought money was the solution. You force a city, county, state, etc. to pay out enough money for these bad actions and they will stop. They don't care about people but they do care about money.
