Judith Hajjar, the city clerk accused of stealing the silver dinner plates from city hall's vault. He pawned the silver plates in a Lowell pawn shop for $700.00. The pawn shop then melted them down. The plates were worth $10,000. The city of Methuen is out of pretty silver plates.

Are we sure they were plated?
Because silver plated anything isnt worth much of anything.?

Why did the city have such things?
Why does a city need such things?

Did the pawnshop know they were the rightful property of the city.
Is that why they melted them dowm?

They weren't plated it should been plates

I believe they were sterling silver, there were seven of them, and they were purchased by the city about 15 years ago for $6,000 as a piece of local history.

Sterling is so much different than silver plates.
