Joseph B. Hennessey Allegedly Placed A Video Camera In The Women’s Bathroom

Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryanannounced that a man had been arrested Saturday morning for allegedly placing a video camera in the women’s bathroom at a local restaurant.

Joseph B. Hennessey, 53, of Salem, N.H., was arrested at Kickstand Cafe, located at 594 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington, and charged with disturbing the peace and photographing an unsuspecting nude person. Arriving to the scene at 8 a.m. after a suspicious person was reported, the police seized electronic devices from the bathroom which were streaming a video feed to a device Hennessey was using in the restaurant common area.

OMG this is my neighbor! Swear to god, he lives 5 houses away from me- the police were there today taking bags out! He walks by my house everyday in his gross baggy sweatpants- he always gave me a weird creepy vibe which is why I said NO earlier this summer when HE ASKED MY 15 YR OLD DAUGHTER TO BABYSIT FOR HIS 2 KIDS!!! That's right, he has 2 young kids! My daughter was alone in our backyard back in June when he walked up to the fence & chatted her up about babysitting during the summer- I told her that I would have to talk to him about it first (which I never did bc of his creepiness).

So my next door neighbor's 14 yr old daughter ended up taking the job. Her 3rd day babysitting, Joe leaves for work & she's there in the house with the 2 kids. She goes in to use the bathroom & notices a little camera sticking out of a vase of flowers- POINTED AT HER ON THE TOILET!

She turned the camera around, gets up & opened the bathroom door & JOE IS STANDING THERE!- he had never left for work, he must've been hiding in the house somewhere watching the camera!- he runs into the bathroom & grabs the whole vase with the camera. This poor girl is standing there shocked- he was probably taping her the other 2 days! He tells her she can go home. She goes home & tells her mom, who simply tells her not to babysit for him anymore, but does not bother to call police (I can't believe she didn't call the police right away!?) Not until this story came out did she tell the police what happened with her daughter!

So I'm FREAKED that this guy has been living in my neighborhood for at least the last year that I can remember- also freaked that he has 2 young kids (like 4 & 6 ish, boy & girl) But I'm emboldened that my MOMZILLA SENSE warned me about this pedo & that I listened to my gut!
(Also my 15 yo now thinks I'm psychic!)

I'll be back with updates when I hear more.

First of all, I want to applaud you for not letting your daughter babysit for this weirdo when you felt the bad vibes. So many times people ignore that little voice in their heads and hearts telling them to stay away from someone or that they are unsafe in some way. They tell themselves they are just overreacting or their imaginations are running away from them, but this is truly a sense of danger that people should pay attention to! I recall reading a story about a girl who was asked out on a date by a guy who turned out to be a serial killer years later, she turned him down for that date because she felt "uneasy" and "afraid" of him for no good reason. She trusted her gut and she was safe. I think you are a great parent for going the extra mile and giving the "okay" before allowing your child to go off with someone you barely know. If there were more parents like you we would have less horrible stories to read on the demon.

This guy reminds me of Susan Powell's sicko father in law. He videotaped two girls who frequented his home using his restroom. I am not 100% sure of this, but I also think he taped them through his bedroom window and into one of the windows in their own home. He had that strange fascination with Susan and cut out photos of her head and paste them onto pornographic pictures, he wrote songs about her, wrote down strange fantasies about her... it is my belief that he either had some info about what happened to Susan or he was a part of what happened to Susan.

These strange voyeurs get off on watching others at their most vunerable (Sp?). I don't know that it is actually watching them pee or do other things in the bathroom they like (although for some it might be the case)... it's the feeling of power they get of watching someone who has no idea they are being watched.

IMO this is just a stepping stone for sexual predators. If this creep hadn't been caught the videotapes would grow old and boring and he would then take the next step to something that excited him again.

To be honest, what he did was sickening but the courts can only do so much if he physically didn't touch anyone. He violated them, but he never actually physically assaulted them. He *might* do time, but he will most likely be on probation and ordered into therapy. I think he will eventually hurt someone physically, and I bet we will be talking about it on the Demon.

Fucker's out on $1000 bail & back home- 5 houses away from me! I feel sick!

So this is his "spying on girls in the bathroom" kit- it's rigged with a camera that he can stream straight to his laptop & watch unsuspecting girls at their most vulnerable.

Hennessey said he is innocent Monday night at his home.

“Most of the things that came out, I’ll be cleared of,” Hennessey said.

"Upon arriving, they spoke to a former manager who immediately took the officer to the bathroom and showed the officer a flower pot with a small hole cut into it," said Assistant District Attorney Justine Bavaro. "This individual moved the flowers to the side, and a small camera was visible."

"In addition to being contacted by authorities in Massachusetts, since the story broke publicly, we have also been contacted by numerous businesses and people in the town of Salem who may have had contact with this individual and may have seen him over the last couple years acting suspiciously," said Deputy Chief Shawn Patten.

In court Monday, Hennessey's lawyer said he found the flowers in a dumpster.

"He told me he has no idea these are anything but flowers," said defense attorney Jonathan Spirn. "He never saw any electronics. He said they were just plastic flowers, and he was going to give them to his daughter."

Salem police said it's too early to say if any charges will be filed locally.

I always suspected he was a creep- I just didn't know how disgusting he really was! He claimed he had found those flowers in the trash (or I heard he said he found them in a cemetary a few months ago?) and that he planned on giving them to his daughter?! And his excuse for being in the womans bathroom at the cafe-- he said his Irritable Bowl Syndrome was acting up?! He's gross in every way!

The Fucker is GUILTY!

4 counts of videotaping a person in the nude

This is my perverted neighbor- who videotaped women/girls in public restrooms using a camera hidden in a flower arrangement that would live stream to his laptop.

He also used the same method to video a little girl in my neighborhood who was using his bathroom while she 'baby sat' for him (yes this perverted predator has 2 little kids)-- he had tried to get MY daughter (who was 12 at the time) to babysit-- thank god I had a creepy vibe about him & didn't let her!

Since he was charged & bailed out in 2014 I've had to deal with his disgusting ass walking by my house everyday. It wasn't until my husband & I confronted him together that he agreed to find a different daily walking route

I told him I knew his 'plan' for my daughter & he responded "that was so long ago when I asked her to babysit" and when I confronted him about the other little girl who found herself being video recorded in his bathroom his response, I swear to god, he said "WHAT DO YOU EVEN CARE, IT WASN'T YOUR KID"
To which I responded "HAD IT BEEN MY KID YOU'D BE DEAD RIGHT NOW"

At the end of that confrontation we left off by saying he agreed not to walk by my house anymore, but he said he was being framed by the Arlington DPW so when he is found not guilty, he wanted AN APOLOGY FROM ME!

WELL WHERE'S YOUR APOLOGY NOW FUCKER!!!

I just pray he will get jail time for this- or at least have to register as a sex offender so I don't have to worry about him being at my kids school events.

His sentencing is Sept 26th, not sure if he's free until then or being held but his truck wasn't in his driveway today so fingers crossed!

I just want to feel safe in my neighborhood again & I haven't since 2014.

His sentencing was delayed again, it was supposed to be Monday, then it was rescheduled for yesterday, & now it's rescheduled until next month. Frustrating!
