Mug shot at the link is terrifying ...
A 28-year-old Louisiana man has been charged in the grisly deaths of his parents, who authorities say were stabbed, mutilated and dissolved in a homemade acid solution over Thanksgiving weekend.

Joel Michael Guy Jr., of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with two counts of first degree murder for the killing of Joel Michael Guy Sr., 61, and Lisa Guy, 55, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.

Police say the couple’s bodies were discovered Monday scattered in multiple rooms of their family home outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, after Lisa Guy’s coworkers requested a welfare check.

Maj. Michael K. MacLean of the Knox County sheriff’s office described what police found as a “horrific, a very gruesome” scene, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports.

Both victims suffered “vicious stab wounds” and dismemberment, the sheriff’s office said in a post to Facebook. In an attempt to destroy evidence, the suspect reportedly placed portions of his parent’s remains in an acid-based solution.

According to police, Guy Jr. drove from Baton Rouge to Knoxville on Wednesday and spent Thanksgiving with his parents and three sisters “with no indication that anything was amiss.” After Thanksgiving, Guy’s siblings returned to their homes in Maryville and Kingsport, the News Sentinel reported.

It is believed that the murders occurred sometime between Friday and midday Saturday, police said. The suspect returned to Baton Rouge on Sunday, meaning he spent at least a day inside the home after allegedly dismembering his parents.

McLean said the suspect placed the bodies in a mixture of drain cleaner, hydrogen peroxide, bleach, sewer line cleaner and other chemicals, The Advocate in Baton Rouge reported. And investigators said they suspect he may have tortured his parents before killing them, according to the newspaper.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department said removing the toxic homemade fluid required special bio-hazard equipment, and the “volume of evidence in such a disturbing scene” required forensic investigators to work through Monday and into Tuesday.

So far, police have not pinpointed a motive. However, McLean said during a press conference that the “parents were in the process of encouraging him to fend for himself, and they were going to be cutting off some of his financial support.”

The victims had also reportedly sold the home where their gruesome murders took place and were in the process of moving to Surgoinsville, according to the Kingsport Times-News.

His three sisters say Thanksgiving dinner was normal. Nothing unusual stands out for them. The University where he claimed to his family to be a student...has no record of him. Appears he has been fleecing his parents for years and they didn't have a clue. Handing him money for tuition and living expenses and he squandered it on himself. Lazy ass. They decide to retire. Tell him they can no longer afford to support him...and his response is to kill them. Nice. Annihilates their bodies by dissecting them and putting parts in acid. Why??? Tried to hide his crime...but it became to overwhelming and he failed miserably. Then just goes home and waits to be arrested??? So crazy.

Idiots that try to dispose of human remains with acid just do not get it.
Sure it will make human porridge out of soft tissues. but it will do nothing to bones.

Pasty faced knob.

Since the state of Tennessee isn't seeking it, the man accused of murdering and cutting up his parents' bodies in 2016 is giving a Knox County Criminal Court judge permission to impose the death penalty if he's convicted of murder this fall.

Joel M. Guy Jr., 32, filed his handwritten motion Tuesday in Criminal Court. He's being held in the Knox County jail in the bowels of the City County Building.

So far his motion hasn't been put on the docket for Judge Steve Sword to hear.

Jury selection is set for Thursday, Sept. 24. Testimony is expected to start Monday, Sept. 28, and Court TV may broadcast the case.

Knox County prosecutors have chosen not to seek the death penalty against Guy at trial despite the gruesome, violent nature of the crimes. When they do seek death, a separate hearing is held after the jury convicts the defendant of first-degree murder.

Guy is considered highly intelligent. The defense isn't trying to show that he suffers from any mental defect or impairment.

As it stands, if he's convicted of first-degree murder he faces an automatic term of life in prison.

Joel Guy Jr., a man convicted in the brutal murder and dismembering of his parents during Thanksgiving weekend 2016, was given two consecutive life sentences Thursday morning.

Joel Michael Guy Jr. was found guilty on all charges including two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree felony murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse on Oct. 2.

Judge Sword called this case the “most extreme form of abuse of a corpse” he’s seen in his 25-year career. The judge told Guy Jr. that he “thinks he’s smarter than he really is,” noting the crimes were committed in an “unintelligent way.”

“Hopefully, it’s the most severe I see in my career, however long that lasts,” Judge Sword said.

Judge Sword said Guy Jr. showed no remorse for his actions during the trial and appeared “proud” of his actions. He also said he had concerns that Guy Jr. has a “depraved mind” that would not change over any length of time.

According to Judge Sword, Guy Jr. had threatened to blind his cellmate in order to attempt to get a cell to himself.

“It was a crime of pure evil overkill,” Judge Sword said.

Guy Jr. will not be eligible for release for 130 years. During the sentencing, Judge Sword said 300 years “isn’t enough time” to reasonably relate to what Guy Jr. did.
