Hunter Moore, who has been called “the most hated man on the Internet” for his alleged operation and defense of a revenge porn website, was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury, according to an official at the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.

Moore, 27, has claimed to be the operator of isanyoneup.com, a site that posted nude photos of people, many of whom say they did not consent to having their images appear on the Internet. The indictment from the United States District Court for the Central District of California charges Moore and a man named Charles “Gary” Evens, 25, with conspiracy to “access a protected computer without authorization to obtain information for private financial gain” and other counts.

On multiple occasions, Moore paid Evens to break into the email accounts of victims and steal nude photos to post on the website isanyoneup.com, according to the indictment.

The pair are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon–Moore in federal court in Sacramento and Evens in U.S. district court in Los Angeles.

“We’re ecstatic,” said revenge porn activist Charlotte Laws, who has been fighting for Moore’s arrest for years and who says her daughter Kayla is one of the victims listed in the indictment. “We’re super pleased that the FBI have brought this to fruition. I’ve talked to several of the victims and they are extremely pleased and I know all the victims are going to feel happy and they are going to feel that finally justice is being served.”

“Revenge porn” is a genre of pornography where explicit images are uploaded to the web, most typically by scorned ex-lovers, without the consent of the photo’s subject. Moore’s isanyoneup.com was one of the most prominent hubs for such material until its shuttering in April 2012, when Moore sold it to the anti-bullying site Bullyville and swore he had a change of heart.

Later that year, however, Moore launched a new site, HunterMoore.TV, which he said would map revenge porn victims photos with their locations (He later denied making that statement.) The site does not appear to have ever gotten off the ground as a revenge porn hub, and currently serves as a repository for party fliers.

Victims and activists have long attempted to fight against revenge porn, but so far few states have workable anti-revenge porn laws on the books. Moore long defended his actions by claiming he was protected by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which states that website owners cannot be held liable for content submitted by users. If he actively solicited illegal content, however, as the indictment alleges, he would no longer be granted Section 230 immunity.

This isn’t Moore’s first brush with the law. In March of 2013, a judge ordered he pay $250,000 to Bullyville.com founder James McGibney for defamation damages.

Moore’s former attorney, Reza Sina, told TIME that he represented Moore for about a year, but Moore ceased being a client last year. “In May of 2013 I was in Washington DC and he called me and told me he was being questioned by the FBI and it’s at that time I decided to cease all communications with him,” Sina said.

This guy is the world's biggest, stinkiest, most unflushable turd. He is a walking heroin shit. If you thought Mr. Girls Gone Wild was bad, wait until you hear about this walking fecal impaction. If you're trying to barf up your dinner or lose weight fast, I really really recommend this article and there is one from I think Salon.com which is also worth reading.

For one, the demographically young site skews toward a similar under-35 audience who, according to online analytics tool Alexa, tends "to consist of childless men browsing from home who have no postgraduate education“ and ranges from 150,000 unique visitors on a Sunday to 240,000 on a good weekday, according to Moore.

For some reason the above statement does not surprise me all that much as too who would be entertained by this shit. And it's sad. So so sad.
I'm guessing none of these losers have sisters coz I'm sure if one of their sisters were targeted by this punk they'd be out for blood. But it's not so that makes it ok I guess.

That guy is the biggest narcissistic sociopath. Seriously he ruined so many peoples lives, I hope bubba has a good ol time with him in prison.

He was scheduled to DJ at a bar here in Lexington on New Year's Eve. One of my friends started a campaign to get him uninvited. He was successful. Moore got super pissy on Twitter and posted something along the general lines of "FUCK YOU, LEXINGTON."

Don't let the prison doors hit you on the way in, bro.

"Revenge Porn" Pioneer Hunter Moore Cuts Plea Deal, Faces Years In Federal Prison For Hacking

Hunter Moore, the degenerate “revenge porn” pioneer, will plead guilty to pair of felony computer hacking charges, according to a plea agreement with federalprosecutors that was filed today in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

In the agreement, Moore, 28, admits to paying a codefendant to steal nude photos from the e-mail accounts of female victims (seven of whom are referenced in the document by their initials).

Those purloined images were then uploaded to IsAnyoneUp.com, the notorious web site founded by Moore.

As a result of his plea to the felony counts, Moore faces a mandatory minimum of two years in federal prison, and a maximum of seven years behind. Additionally, he could face a $500,000 fine and a maximum of three years probation upon his release from prison.

The plea agreement notes that prosecutors and defense counsel both reserve the right to argue for a sentence outside of federal sentencing guidelines.

The plea agreement, which Moore signed on February 12, also details the strict limitations and controls over his future online activities, all of which will need the approval of his probation officer.

Moore’s codefendant, Charles Evens, is scheduled to go on trial March 24, though court filings indicate that his lawyer has also been engaging in negotiations seeking a “pretrial resolution” of the criminal case.

According to the 15-count indictment filed against Moore and Evens, Evens hacked the e-mail accounts of hundreds of victims. In e-mails, Moore directed Evens to “hack more” and “hack all week for me.” In one 2011 e-mail, the indictment charged, Moore advised Evens that they “needed to create new e-mail accounts and delete evidence of the hacking scheme.”

what pissed me off was when the maggot tried tro get any links to his name cleared off of google search because it was an invasion of his privacy! My thoughts: EAT SHIT YOU BITCH, ya should be locked in a room with all the fathers of your vics or anyone whose pic you published! NOTE: it could have been the other guy in Calif that tried that with google as I think I read about more than one, this other joker had a friend that tried to [Calif] help him with the ACLU out there as a "violation of free speech issue"

every one of these types of sites such as his should be nailed as apparently there are others and he tried to put another up under a different name

What a shitty lawyer. FBI too scary or something?

Think it's important to note his charges stem from the hacking rather then the posting of peoples photos without their permission. Seems it's only when some form of coercion or defrauding is present that this shit garners serious legal attention.

I wonder if any of the victims tried to flaw a lawsuit against him while his site was still doing big numbers. It's their material bringing in the site hits, they should be entitled to the earnings, especially if they hadn't consented or made any deals about the photos usage. Broads shoulda gotten paid.

I can't stand revenge porners. This is why I have never done it on camera and never will. The results are devastating.

I fall into a weird category with this, I find this asshole to be awful, without a doubt, but all that kind of shit is out there of mine already with my knowledge and permission. If I were threatened with "revenge porn" now I'd laugh and tell them to go for it, WTF do I care.

But this guy and others like him are assholes who need a bit of prison justice to see the err of their ways.

‘Revenge Porn’ Operator in San Diego Sentenced to 18 Years Behind Bars
The owner of a now-offline “revenge porn” website based in California was sentenced Friday to 18 years behind bars, according to a news release from the California attorney general’s office.

Kevin Christopher Bollaert, 27, had been found guilty in February of six counts of extortion and 21 counts of identity theft. He faced a maximum of 23 years in prison.

Prosecutors said Bollaert created a website that allowed people to post explicit images of people without their permission. The site also posted personal information of the people in the pictures without their consent, Attorney General Kamala Harris said.

The sexually explicit material, primarily of women, was routinely posted by angry former boyfriends and ex-husbands, authorities said. It contained their real names and links to their Facebook profiles.

Bollaert created a second website that solicited payments of $250 to $350 from people who wanted to have the photographs deleted. Bollaert made about $30,000 on that site, the attorney general’s office said.

“Sitting behind a computer, committing what is essentially a cowardly and criminal act will not shield predators from the law or jail.” Harris said. “We will continue to be vigilant and investigate and prosecute those who commit these deplorable acts.”

CNN affiliate KFMB reported that Bollaert’s father apologized to the victims during Friday’s hearing, saying “how sorry we are here today because of a shameful, stupid, inappropriate thing my son did. My heart goes out to all of you.”

The station also reported his defense attorney admitted her client made moral transgressions but wasn’t legally responsible for the 10,170 photos submitted in the year the websites operated.

shameful, stupid, inappropriate thing my son did

Lighthearted way to describe felony crimes including extortion and identity theft.

The station also reported his defense attorney admitted her client made moral transgressions but wasn’t legally responsible for the 10,170 photos submitted in the year the websites operated.

Agreed.

Steep punishment. He'd have gotten less time if he had raped some of these women instead of merely blackmailing them over their nude pics.

Revenge porn hacker pleads guilty, faces 7 years

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Chalk one up for revenge porn victims.

Charlie Evens, 26, has pleaded guilty to hacking into the email accounts of hundreds of women to steal and resell their naked pictures. He faces up to seven years in prison.

This act -- posting non-consensual nude photos of a person on the web -- is a growing form of online harassment known as "revenge porn."

Evens -- who was the focus of a recent CNNMoney report -- fessed up on Wednesday before United States District Judge Dolly M. Gee in California.

When Evens was 23, he was hired by Hunter Moore, who is known as the "king of revenge porn" to steal naked photos of women. Moore would pay Evens for the pictures and post them on his now defunct site, IsAnybodyUp.com.

In February, Moore pleaded guilty to the same two felony charges -- federal computer crime and identity theft.

"I did it for money, it makes me sound like a monster," Evens told CNNMoney's Laurie Segall earlier this year.

Evens said he met Moore after hacking him -- he didn't even know who Moore was at that time.

"He contacted me saying that he'd pay me to [hack] for him," he said.

So Evens began stealing photos to make money -- he had just gotten out of rehab and had lost his previous job due to drinking.

Evens said he'd make between $500 and $1,000 a week.

He referred to his "gig" as "really shitty."

"You have to do all these mental gymnastics to be able to live with yourself," he told CNNMoney.

After hacking into a victim's Facebook or e-mail account, he would carry on with his normal life and go party with friends.

"I've thought about, when I'm out [of prison], if I can meet some of [his victims] and look at them and it just terrifies me," said Evens,

Like Moore, Evens will face a maximum of seven years in federal prison, and a mandatory two-year term for identity theft. Evens' sentence is expected to take place November 16, after Moore's on August 12.

Recent wins for the battle against revenge porn also include steps by Google and Reddit to remove revenge porn from their search results.

That how I would feel too...You can't be trusted with an image of me...that shit is sacred.

What a fucking loser...So glad I don't have a daughter...Sad thing about this is this guy was/is successful because we don't know how to be nice each other anymore. People that will put your pic up...people who like to watch and will enjoy your humiliation...and this fuckwad (see how I used fuckwad instead of fucktard, or retard...I caught myself, I'm working on it) counting his money...cha ching...nope, not nice. Going to hell.
