A 28-year-old woman is missing and hasn’t been seen since last week, the Houston Police Department said Tuesday.

Gayla Trenice Roy was last known to be at her apartment complex, at 5050 Sunflower St., officers said.

A report came in Sept. 12, saying Roy was last seen about 9 p.m. Sept. 10, before going to work, police said.

Roy is employed by the U.S. Post Office and reports to the processing plant at 4600 Aldine Bender Road.

Relatives said she was recently having issues with the father of her children, police said.

Roy drives a black Lincoln Continental that has not been seen, either. It’s a 2011 model with the word “Beast” written on both sides in chrome, and her Texas license plate reads JSZ-1087, according to the Missing Pieces Network.

The group said Roy is 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds and has black hair that is often pulled back. She has pierced ears and wears dark purple plastic-framed glasses. Roy was last seen wearing a navy blue USPS hoodie, light gray leggings and black shoes.

Roy spoke to her father on the phone as she was leaving work, but never arrived at her home at Sunflower Terrace Apartments, and now her phone goes straight to voicemail. Roy has two young children

[doublepost=1506534630,1506487772][/doublepost]now just praying her body is found as there's little doubt on the ending: maybe I'm wrong but don't think this girl would have run off and left her babies. This is the kind of person they shoud used enhanced interrogation with

HOUSTON – A former postal worker has been charged in connection with the kidnapping and killing of a co-worker who vanished in September.

Don Gaines, 30, was arrested Tuesday on a federal charge of kidnapping.

Gayla Roy, the mother of Gaines’ two children, was reported missing in September after she didn’t show up for her job at the Aldine Bender post office, where they both worked.
A few days later, Gaines confessed that he had kidnapped Roy and killed her, according to court documents.

Federal investigator say Gaines choked Roy in her car and believed she was dead. While driving to Louisiana, Roy regained consciousness. Gaines then allegedly stopped on I-10, dragged Gaines into a wooded area and shot her in the head.

Using GPS information from the victim’s vehicle, investigators searched a wooded area along I-10 and found skeletal remains. DNA confirmed the remains were Roy.

If convicted, Gaines could face the death penalty
