New accusations of animal cruelty could lead to criminal charges in Butler County.

Rescuers with Joseph's Legacy said they have taken in a months-old lab mix named Valhalla. They believe Valhalla's owner, a 19-year-old man, got angry when she peed in his room, and in response threw the puppy down the stairs before beating her with a flashlight.

Rescuers said Monroe Family Pet Hospital veterinarians are performing surgery on the pup Monday because she has several broken bones.

"I can't even imagine the pain that she endured while she was beaten and the sound that she made while she felt every single blow and how much fear she had when she was being beaten and thrown," said Meg Melampy, president of Joseph's Legacy.

Melampy said the puppy also appears to have burns on her ears that could have been caused by cigarettes.

Vahalla is now with a foster family.

Stephen Collins was sentenced after admitting to beating a puppy and throwing her down a flight of stairs.

A judge sentenced Collins to 74 days in the Butler County Jail.
Collins' mother found the injured puppy and took her to the rescue group Joseph's Legacy. The puppy, who was named Valhalla, had several broken bones and needed surgery. She also suffered cigarette burns on her ears and head.

Valhalla has since been adopted.

Hate the sentence but happy Valhalla found a home.

Oh sure, 74 days will teach him a thing or two.

$5.00 says he'll be back on here in 2 years or less. But im thinking it will be:

Baby found unresponsive while mother was at work.

What a dick. I worked at a no kill shelter in high school and saw this all the time. It’s like people don’t want to think about the messes and responsibilities that come with raising an animal. And like @Keepalowprofile said, that’ll be the next move for this shitbird
