Sentenced: Edgar Mendoza Invades Home & Sexually Assaults 6 Year-old In Bed

A 32-year-old undocumented immigrant was charged with sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl after her father found the stranger in bed with her in the middle of the night, police say.

Edgar Mendoza, a citizen of Guatemala, allegedly broke into a home early Tuesday morning.

Police say in the affidavit that the child's father noticed that a light had been turned off upstairs and went to investigate. The concerned father walked into his daughter's room to find Mendoza in her bed, authorities say.

Mendoza leaped up and then jumped from a second-floor window and fled on foot into the neighborhood, police say.

Police officers who responded to a 1.30am 911 call from the father searched the area and arrested Mendoza a short time later. Mendoza has been charged three counts of aggravated sex assault, endangering the welfare of a child and burglary.

The child was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office will seek to detain Mendoza pending trial.

Edgar Mendoza, a 29-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala, has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison in New Jersey after he broke into the home of a New Jersey family and sexually molested their 6-year-old daughter.

In September 2017, Mendoza broke into the home of his victim and molested the 6-year-old girl in her bed, according to the Trentonian. When the victim’s father found the illegal alien in bed with his daughter, Mendoza escaped through a window on the home’s second floor.

After the sexual assault, the illegal alien was found by police and he was identified by the victim’s father as the child molester.

The illegal alien is scheduled to be released from New Jersey prison in December 2027.

The sentencing comes as New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) announced that he will set aside $2 million in taxpayer funds to help illegal aliens fight their deportation from the U.S.
