TRAVERSE CITY — A Traverse City woman is accused of using false social media postings in an attempt to exonerate a boyfriend who was on trial for abusing her teenage son.

Christine Paige Borrowdale, 39, faces an 86th District Court warrant for perjury and tampering with evidence during the June trial of Andre Anthony LeBlanc, 39, her boyfriend. She testified she had printouts that showed her son, 16, was engaged in a Facebook conversation at the time LeBlanc was accused of abusing him.

“Basically, people didn’t believe her,” said Grand Traverse County Assistant Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg said. “She was confronted later with the fact the dates were changed on the computer. When we went back and looked at computer we found she changed the time setting. That evidence was brought into the trial.”

LeBlanc was found guilty and sentenced to five days in the county jail. Borrowdale’s alleged deception could land her a 15-year prison sentence.

The case began in March when LeBlanc was charged with fourth-degree child abuse and malicious destruction of property. The victim was kicked out of Borrowdale’s home and returned to pick up some belonging when LeBlanc pinned him to the ground during a physical confrontation.

Court documents state “if the time zone is switched on a computer, the times displayed for ‘texts’ or ‘posts’ in a Facebook conversation will be adjusted equally.”

Moeggenberg said Borrowdale stood by her story after being confronted on the stand.

“During her sworn testimony, (the) defendant was questioned regarding these records: ‘Did you alter these records in any way?’ and defendant responded ‘No,’” court documents state.

It wasnt her husband she was defending, it was her fucking boyfriend. She sold her son out for a piece of dick and now her dumbass id facing more jail time than he is. I sincerely hope her stupidity lands her in jail at least for 30 days, just for being the type of person to do such a thing to their child.

We were not discussing the child's behaviour.

For all I know his mother may have been completely in the right, throwing him out of their home. Teenagers can be trying.

What is the problem here is the adults. The boyfriend for abusing the child when he came to pick up some belongings, and the mother for falsifying evidence to cover for her boyfriend.

I would go so far as to suggest that if the child was misbehaving, he didn't learn it from strangers.....

Absolutely, kids can be little fucking brats, especially teenagers, I know I have one. But let me clue you in on what will cut down on those moments? Actual parenting.

Teens test the boundaries, it's part of growing up, we all did it too but if they have been parented before they reach the teen years it's quite easy to nip it in the bud. In my years of parenting, I have never had to abuse one of my sons to curb bad behavior because I do actually parent them, every day.

Kids and teenagers end up what you raise them to be, if you allow them to do and say whatever the fuck they want when they are little you can't be surprised when your teen son is over 6 foot tall and doing the same Goddamn thing. It's not the sign of a bad kid, it's the sign of a bad parent!

As a successful black entertainer she should already have a lawyer on retainer for those times she chooses to perjure herself for a crime that netted her boyfriend five lonely days in county jail. And... if she's really that concerned about proving that she didn't fuck with the time stamp, why not ask the person who was on the other end of the conversation for their records. Surely if she's telling the truth then the two computers would show the same timestamps for it.
