A white man walked into a historic African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina, and opened fire during a Bible study class, killing nine people Wednesday evening.

The suspect was still at large early Thursday morning. And the shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, the oldest AME church in the South, is being investigated as a hate crime.

"The only reason someone would walk into a church and shoot people that were praying is hate," said Charleston Mayor Joe Riley.

Eight churchgoers died at the scene; a ninth at a hospital, police said.

Officials wouldn't say how many people were at the Bible study during the shooting. There were survivors, said Charleston Police Chief Greg Mullen, but he didn't elaborate.

The shooting was "obviously the most intolerable and unbelievable act possible," the mayor said.

"People in prayer Wednesday evening. A ritual, a coming together, praying, worshiping God. An awful person come in and shoot them is inexplicable," Riley said.

Police received the first call around 9:05 p.m. Officers arrived to find several victims inside.

"It's really bad. It's a very bad scene," local pastor Thomas Dixon said.

Police said the suspect in the shooting is a clean-shaven white man in his 20s, with a slender build and sandy blonde hair. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and boots.

Soon afterward, news cameras showed officers taking a man matching that description into custody, but he was later released.

Police said they were still looking for the shooter.

"He obviously is extremely dangerous," Chief Mullen said. "We will put all our resources, we will put all of our energy in finding this individual."

Police say they have surveillance video of a possible suspect and vehicle in the shooting deaths of nine people at a historic black church in downtown Charleston that's being called a hate crime.
Police Chief Greg Mullen met with reporters early Thursday to distribute the video. Mullen said he couldn't give a specific make and model of the vehicle because they could not be certain from the video.

I woke up to this on the news. For a second or two I thought I was back in 1962. I am too disgusted and sad to make a coherent post.
Mother Emmanuel was and is a sacred place, the oldest African-American church in the US. She was a refuge for slaves fleeing the South, the mortar that held them together. Mother Emmanuel was, and I hope will always be, a symbol of freedom, peace and love.

I will never understand racism, hate and discrimination. Killing people while they are reading Scripture and praying....cowardly, murdering piece of shit. I hate him, and he should also be held accountable for any backlash his inhumane act causes.

I pray this doesn't result in another cluster fuck where innocent people get hurt. I'm too old for this shit.

Ok I've got some,...no, a lot of thoughts on this- first- let me say any innocent unarmed person shot down in cold blood is a heinous crime, and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

Now with that said my first thoughts when i saw this is that it's a false flag- i believe it did happen, unlike sandy hook- but it's definitely a false flag. It wasn't some random whacko- Which few of these shootings are. This suspect fled so he could live- not a medicated suicidal nutjob. And more than likely will not be found. Especially if he had help.

So lets look at what we know. It happened in a church made up of Christians- a black church, by a white shooter- in a gun free zone. And the Pastor was a state senator.

So who benefits? White hate groups? Nope they are going to be really targeted now. Gun Rights advocates? Nope, they will come after gun rights again really hard- so buy your powder today before the panic starts, if it hasn't already . So who? Who benefits?

There are a few suspects but i'll stick to the big three... my first thoughts point to the administration- who has done everything they can to divide the country racially since Zero's beer summit with the white cop doing his job, and have blatantly incited unrest within both white and black communities ever since by Holder's - side taking actions. And who is behind this administration? The socialists, communists, and freedom hating, anti american progressives. (who are globalist's puppets- see useful idiots)) They would certainly benefit from more unrest, and both the race and 2nd amendment pots have both been stirred by this one.

This is almost as heinous as Sandy Hoax, but maybe even more so on some levels. Given the volatile state of race now- this may just be the catalyst to really get nationwide riots going. - And.. drum roll... national police force/military/martial law/gun confiscation. Which as we (free thinking people) know has been this administration's agenda since day one.

Also- ISIL- they could benefit from this- shoot up a bunch of christians, white devil takes the blame- US implodes and puts all it's resources into quelling unrest, and they slip by unnoticed to really do some damage.

And- the pastor/senator- A real investigation into this would look long and hard at this guy. Governments will blow up/crash an airplane filled with souls to kill one target and make it look like an accident . this reeks of spook (CIA) shenanigans as well.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how this all unfolds. Stay safe everyone.

He has a previous criminal record, minor offenses: one drug related and one trespassing. The kicker is his father bought him a 45 for his birthday and said 45 is the murder weapon.

I'm all for gun rights, I own quite a few, but for fuck's sake people there are reasons for the laws we have, don't be a Strawman and don't give a gun to someone who cannot legally purchase one on their own!

Law enforcement officials in Charleston, South Carolina, were searching on Thursday for a 21-year-old white gunman who killed nine people in a historic African-American church including a black state senator in an attack the U.S. Department of Justice called a hate crime.

The FBI identified the shooter as Dylann Roof of Columbia, South Carolina. An uncle of Roof's said he recognized the man in the surveillance photo as his nephew.

"The more I look at him, the more I'm convinced, that's him," Carson Cowles, 56, told Reuters in a phone interview.

Law enforcement agents were present at Roof's home, Cowles said, adding he believed the shooter's father had recently bought him a .45-caliber handgun as a birthday present.

The victims, six females and three males, included Reverend Clementa Pinckney, who was the church's pastor and a Democratic member of the state Senate, according to colleagues.

The U.S. Department of Justice opened a hate crime investigation into the shooting, which follows a string of racially charged killings that have prompted waves of protest across the United States over the past year and sparked the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

Roof sat with churchgoers inside Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church for about an hour on Wednesday before opening fire, Police Chief Gregory Mullen said.

He reloaded five times even as victims pleaded with him to stop, a relative of Pinckney's said. Sylvia Johnson, a cousin, told MSNBC that a survivor told her the gunman reloaded five times during the attack. Pinckney tried to talk him out of it, she said.

"He just said, 'I have to do it. You rape our women and you're taking over our country," Johnson said.

Demonstrations have rocked New York, Baltimore, Ferguson, Missouri and other cities following police killings of unarmed black men including Eric Garner, Freddie Gray and Michael Brown.

A white police officer was charged with murder after he shot an unarmed black man in April in neighboring North Charleston.

The gunman is extremely dangerous, Mullen said, and police did not have a sense of where he might be.

Eight victims were found dead in the church, Mullen said, and a ninth died after being taken to hospital. Three people survived the attack. Officials did not immediately identify the victims.

Early on Thursday, Mullen released photos of the suspect taken from the church, as well as of a black sedan that he was seen leaving in. Mullen added there was "no reason to believe" that he was not in the Charleston area.

The shooter told one survivor he would let her live so she could tell others what happened, the president of the Charleston NAACP, Dot Scott, told the local Post and Courier newspaper.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, said he was praying for the families of the victims of the shooting.

If you honestly believe that our government isn't still operating the Mk Ultra program and doesn't have programmed Manchurian killers all over the world, and there isn't an underlying political/monetary agenda behind almost every major "events", and the salinsky faithful aren't busing in paid protesters to fan racial flames, and that they haven't been actively trying to dismantle this country since the 50's... with their greatest achievement of putting one of their own in the white house.. well then, i applaud your ignorant blissfulness.

the end game is simple. divide and conquer. For starters the cold war never ended- it may have not been in "the news" but trust me it's always been there. And the socialists who want to upend America are nothing more than tools of a greater evil. But yes in my opinion they are very "bad folks" because they want to take my freedoms (and yours).

But something that has worked consistently throughout history, not just in movies.

I'm not a big conspiracy theorist but history has proven that if you can divide people, as is happening now, those people are easier to "handle" so to speak. If you look back into the conflicts throughout history you see a consistent pattern of those in power dividing those they wanted to control, selecting the exact group to attack, baiting people with propaganda and the media and then gaining control when the people were in separate groups, each one at a time until they had achieved what they wanted.

I'm not saying it's happening here now or not but if is those responsible have centuries of models to work from because it keeps happening.

And that's part of the reason it's working. We've been taught - brainwashed - to scoff at these things as being impossible or improbable. After all, America is "the greatest nation in the world," espousing "freedom" for all. Surely, we are taught to believe, our government wouldn't do something underhanded to undermine its own people and their freedom.

But, unfortunately, that is exactly what is going on.

So, too many people keep getting their news from CNN, accepting the spin, and not thinking beyond what is shown to them. Because we have become so entertainment-centered, Americans no longer research, think, and do for themselves, or work with their neighbors/neighborhoods to promote society like they used to do.

And that is all part of the plan.

Just to set the record straight I really had no intention of derailing this thread from a tragic report of innocent people being gunned down, into a foil hat shaped soap box . My experiences in life have taught me to try to look past what they are handing me/us as the "facts" and look at all the possible equations, and that's what i was doing.

And i really hope that others will do the same. Rather than reacting to events with blind emotion, we take a step back, take a breath and examine whatever it is they are feeding us, and question what we're being fed, and why they are feeding it to us. That type of logical thinking will do more over the long term to unite the populations and prevent future events like this than any amount of emotional rally organizers, charismatic podium actors, or legislation could ever do.
 
The media didn't even report on this til hours after it happened becoz they were still sucking Rachel Dozeal's dick. That's what they wanted to shove down our throats so they can further negate the actual problems black people suffer on a day to day basis. It didn't matter when Trayvon, Tamir, Freddie or Michael died. But maybe maybe with the death of a US Senator people will wake the fuck up and realize that racism is not a thing of the past. Hang the knife so handle is between the belly button and groin with small gauge wire.
Verify that if he knows his entrails must hit the floor, only then does he get justice with one bullet to the head.

If he severs just one of his toes to eviscerate his sorry ass before the cleansing flames, well, I for one will not spit if I mention that name aloud.

Debbie Dills is being praised as a hero Thursday after she reported the whereabouts of Dylann Roof, a gunman who is suspected of killing nine people at a Charleston, South Carolina church. Her tip led to Roof’s arrest in Shelby, North Carolina. Roof was on the run for more than 13 hours.

Dills was driving to her job as a florist for Frady's Florist in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on Thursday when she spotted Roof’s car, which she recognized from television coverage, the Shelby Star reported. She called her boss, Todd Frady, to tell him she had seen the car and Frady then phoned Shane Davis, an officer with the Kings Mountain Police Department. Davis was able to contact the Shelby Police Department, which went on to arrest Roof at a traffic stop that was arranged because of Dills' tip. Frady kept both Dills and Davis on the line, relaying information between them.

"I saw the news coverage last night and the picture of the car. I knew it was a black car, and it had a tag on the front. I saw the pictures of him with the bowl cut," Dills told the Star. "I said, 'I've seen that car for some reason. I look over, and it's got a South Carolina tag on it. I thought, 'Nah, that's not his car.' Then, I got closer and saw that hair cut. I was nervous--I had the worst feeling. Is that him or not him?"

Dills was able to place Roof traveling west on Highway 74. She first began trailing him in Gastonia, North Carolina, and traveled behind him for about 35 miles until police arrived. She said Roof was driving normally the entire time she was tailing him.

"I have friends going to the mountains this weekend, so if that was him and something would happen again, what would I do?" she told the Star. "It kept eating at me and something told me to keep following him."

Dills is a minister as well as a florist. She was in another church at the time of the Charleston shooting, as Wednesday evenings are a common time for Bible study. She said she believes God put her "in the right place at the right time" to spot Roof.

Authorities thanked her for her tip just after they arrested Roof, and Dills applauded them for their hard work. "Them boys knocked it down. They were on it," she said of local law enforcement.​

Nobody's born a racist; where did he learn this filth?
How long has he had this mindset?
Were there any warning signs that he was going off the rails?
Does he have mental health problems? (shooting up a church? hell yeah! he got problems)

I have a million questions; I want to try to understand what could make someone do this. I mean, I just can't imagine what I could see, hear or read that would outrage me enough to go shoot up a church and kill 9 people I don't even know. That's not cray cray; that's cloud coo-coo land.
