There is a theory that she was having an affair with another trainer and, I suppose, it's possible that the murderer is that trainer's wife instead of her husband. There must be some reason LE decided it could be either a male or female, but they seem to have backed off of that now so who knows.

I think its just a matter of time.

If someone was just there to rob the place and she walked in on them, I would think they would just run away. Not all thieves are murderers.

Personally, I'm going with the wife of the person she was said to be having an affair with.

But (referring to the thread where someone tried to do a citizen's arrest and got shot and died) if she perhaps tried to stop the robbery, could the suspect then have panicked and killer her? Or maybe the suspect just happened across her setting up for her camp and decided that to attack her?

I'm so anxious for more information, but still think it was a robbery at this point. I feel terrible for her family - no answers.

I could see that, but why would they wear full SWAT gear? I think it's to disguise their gender.

I agree in the hiding gender, but perhaps the disguise was also meant to save themself had someone arrived and questioned them about why they were there. So they could say 'I'm here investigating, not stealing'. Perhaps to facilitate a get away.

Who knows though. Could have also been disguised in order to approach the victim and not raise any alarms with her. Then be able to attach her. Not many people will question a uniformed officer.

It's more my gut telling me it was a disturbed robbery more than what the information is saying.

Latest Warrants in Missy Bevers Death Investigation Reveal Financial, Marital Struggles and a 'Creepy' Message

Three search warrants released Thursday in the Missy Bevers murder case reveal she was facing financial difficulty and marital discord and that in the days before her murder she had received a "creepy and strange" message from an unknown man on LinkedIn.

[....]messages recovered from the phones owned by Brandon and Missy Bevers "indicate and confirm statement and tips provided to officers of an ongoing financial and marital struggle as well as intimate/personal relationship(s) external to the marriage with identified 'Target Numbers.'"

The extracted data provided police with a list of potential persons of interest, the "Target Numbers," based on the communications (texts, messages and recovered deleted messages) between them and the victim. The "Target Numbers" referred to in the search warrant include 11 phone numbers for nine people.

Police said Thursday their initial investigative focus was on family and those closest to Missy Bevers, but the investigation is now shifting to other leads. Family and friends initially investigated in the case are not considered suspects, according to police.

In another warrant, detectives said a friend of the victim's told them that less than three days before her murder Bevers showed her a private message on her LinkedIn account from a person neither of them knew that they both agreed was "creepy and strange." During her interview with police, the friend could not recall the name of the person who sent Bevers the message.

Detectives also identified another person who confirmed to police that he had engaged in a series of communications with Missy Bevers on LinkedIn starting around January 2016 and that the messages were "flirtatious and familiar." Police said a forensic data extraction was performed on both his phone and Bevers' phone and that the communications appeared "intimate in nature" and that they had been deleted after the conversation was ended.

In the third warrant, detectives requested a tower dump of cellphone data from around the time Bevers was killed with hopes that if the killer was carrying a phone it may have pinged a tower near the church where the fitness instructor was found dead. It is also not clear if the data requested has been received by police.

To date police have identified no suspects in the woman's slaying. The only public lead on a person of interest is the unidentified person recorded inside the church shortly before Bevers arrived the morning she was killed.

Relatives of a fitness instructor killed at a church in North Texas said it was "devastating" to learn the woman and her husband had been engaging in intimate relationships with other people, in an interview published Tuesday.

Midlothian police said a student arriving for a class found the body of 45-year-old Terri "Missy" Bevers of Red Oak at Creekside Church of Christ on April 18. Police said surveillance video showed her unidentified killer inside the church minutes before she arrived before dawn. The killer wore a jacket labeled "Police," gloves and a helmet.

Police investigating her death announced last week that Bevers and her husband, Brandon, had "an ongoing financial and marital struggle as well as intimate/personal relationship(s) external to the marriage." Investigators also uncovered what they called "flirtatious" messages from her personal devices

A search warrant affidavit reveals that Missy Bevers died from multiple puncture wounds to her head and chest.

Bevers was attacked early April 18 at a Midlothian church where she was preparing to teach a fitness class and died from the head wound.
[....]
her wounds are consistent with the tools, believed to be some type of hammer, the attacker was carrying through the building.

A person wearing police SWAT gear was recorded on video wandering inside the church before she was killed. The same footage shows Bevers show up to the church shortly after 4:15 a.m., but the attack was not caught on camera.

The warrant where the new details come from is for Missy Bevers’ cell phone. Police want access to the contents of her phone so they can determine who she communicated with before the murder.

Midlothian police discredited rumors of reports that authorities had made an arrest in the Missy Bevers murder investigation.

Rumors began Wednesday night when the Nancy Grace Show reported an arrest could be imminent. The HLN show set social media abuzz.

Midlothian police confirmed on Thursday no arrested had been made. However, they said they will soon have more resources to help find the killer.

Police say a team from Tarrant County will soon assist them with a video reconstruction -- similar to a crash reconstruction. It should allow them to get a more accurate suspect description when it comes to body size and height.

Shut up Nancy.
Ugh! I know! Every time I hear "bombshell tonight" I want to jab scissors through my own ears. Then the ignorant hoe has all kinds of people on her show for some damn reason just to tell her staff to "put him up." I don't even know why people continue to go on her show as guests. You can't have a differing opinion and actually get to talk.

I suspect it's a female in oversized shoes, with padding or something heavy under her clothes. That causes the gait, and obfuscates the size and shape. At the beginning of this video, something about the stance, weight on their right leg, left foot turned out- strikes me as feminine. As well as something in the first still shot. Also, the husband has since said in an interview that he believes it was a female.

A female who was armed, armored, and prepared could certainly overwhelm an unsuspecting person of similar size, male or female. And if was a premeditated attack by someone in their social circle, the gear would protect them from showing up to her funeral later with suspicious injuries.

A crazy stranger killing with this much forethought is possible, but there are easier ways to kill (or sexually assault, although that doesn't seem to be the case here) a stranger without getting caught. For all an outsider would know, the church basketball team (or whoever) could have been expected to show up first thing that morning. Somebody knew this solo female would be showing up, and was waiting for her. That's true horror...
[doublepost=1465104998,1465104086][/doublepost]Also, the half-assed attempt to break open this door, and hammer swings here. If that's a man, he's gonna have to check his man card when they catch him.

That person was swinging that hammer from their wrist and not from their shoulder as a man would have done it.

DNA results on that bloody shirt should be coming in any minute. I'm beginning to lean toward a woman perp also. Really, I never though it would take this long to solve.

Considering the reports of extra marital affairs, both sides, I can see some woman pissed off enough to want to get her out of the way. But really I'd just tell the cheating jerks, they could have each other and then take all he had and the children too.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Yeah, the blood on the shirt really did turn out to be from a dog. Here's a new article put out just to say they have made no progress on the case.

"I think that when many of us saw that [video] for the first time, we just felt like there would be other aspects of this case that would have led more quickly to an arrest," Johnson said.

Bevers was found bludgeoned to death in the Creekside Chuch of Christ in the early morning hours of April 18.

Surveillance video showing a suspect walking around in police tactical gear with a helmet provided clear visual evidence of the suspect moving in the church before Bevers, a fitness coach, wife, and mother, arrived.

"This video is distinctive — not only in the gait of the suspect, but the outfit and behavior that we see, as well," Johnson said.

For the first time Monday, Midlothian police also confirmed there is never-before-seen video from the church, but Johnson says those angles are not as clear and likely would not produce additional information to help identify their suspect or even their gender.

"The evidence hasn't definitively answered that question," Johnson said.

Johnson also confirmed exhaustive efforts to locate additional surveillance video of Bevers’ killer or the vehicle that person may have left in anywhere in Midlothian.

The case drew international attention in the weeks following Bevers’ killing with members of her family giving several interviews.

Family members tell News 8 they’re now hesitant to speak out, because doing so brings them more pain, with false accusations and rumors on social media directed at them.

Johnson reiterated Monday that no one in her family is considered in any way connected to Missy Bevers’ death.

G.M. Cox, an associate professor at Tarleton State University in Fort Worth and a former police chief in Murphy, has followed the case since the outset and says it is likely the break in the case exists with someone that knew Bevers well.

"There has to be some link between her death and people in her past," Cox said. "This person intended to do exactly what they did – when they did it – and whom they did it to.”

Johnson says the lead investigator on the case speaks with the FBI several times a week and the federal agency provides personnel and resources whenever needed.

MIDLOTHIAN, Texas - There’s a new set of eyes working on the unsolved murder of a beloved fitness instructor in Midlothian.
[....]
Surveillance video from inside the church showed a person wearing tactical gear walking through the halls just before she was killed.

Police are still trying to find that person.

Sgt. Andy Vaughan will dig through new tips and will go back and review tips from the beginning.

Midlothian police said once the investigation slowed, the original detective on the case decided to return to patrol.

Obviously, MPD has no detective.
[doublepost=1518548174,1517945375][/doublepost]Not much new info yet. It's telling that they're getting calls from places as far flung as Australia. We're not the only ones who can't stand an unsolved crime.

Over the course of the investigation, investigators canvassed the nearby businesses and neighborhoods for people who may have seen something or captured security video. None of those leads have panned out. Police learned from a forensic reconstruction of the security tape provided by the church that the suspect is between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-7 and does appear to have lighter skin color.
[....]
The department has also consulted several investigators with other agencies to provide their expertise

“We have done that in a couple of different fashions. The first time we had homicide investigators, experienced homicide guys from Fort Worth and Dallas. We spent about eight hours and briefed the whole case,” Johnson stated. “We also went out to Austin. It was several months after this first presentation and presented to a cold case group that is hosted by Texas Sheriff’s Association. That was about a four-hour presentation that we gave them. Everybody from medical examiners to Texas Rangers to homicide guys, judges, trace evidence specialists, and a physiologist was present.”

Vaughn added that the department presented the case to members of the Southeastern Homicide Investigators Association, who asked insightful questions and made suggestions.

The department also looked at using DNA to help create a composite of the suspect.
[....]
“The little bit of physical evidence that we had we actually sent to a private lab. We sent it to them specifically because they were involved in that technology and the ability to do that,” Johnson said. “The problem was the quality of the sample we sent was not sufficient. They needed more of a complete profile and what we had was a partial and mixed profile.”
[....]
Vaughn stated that there is not a suspect at this time. He encourages people if they have information about the case to come forward and contact police.

Anyone with information related to the case can contact the Midlothian Police Department at 972-775-7624. The police department is located at 1150 U.S. Highway 67 in Midlothian.

If people have information but would like to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers of Ellis County at 972-937-7297. Crimes Stoppers pays cash for tips that help lead to an arrest.

The daughter of a murdered Midlothian woman used a livestock auction to raise money and awareness in the effort to find her mom’s killer.

Allison Bevers, just before showing her Duroc pig to a crowd of potential bidders, made it known she was raising money to help in the search for Missy Bevers’ killer.

The pig, which typically would’ve been sold for a few thousand dollars, drew a winning bid of $15,000.
[....]
Tara Yarbrough and members of the newly formed group Ellis County Women in Business just happened to be at the livestock show on a mission to support girls who raise pigs for auction, an effort they’ve dubbed Project Bring Home the Bacon.

"Every kid that goes up the ramp they tell their name, what they are pigs name is and what their plans are. So that was the first time any of us had heard what the plan was and of course dad just took at your heartstrings and we were like we have to do this, we have to get this pig,” Yarbrough said.

The group wound up placing the winning bid.
[....]
“Women in our group did know her and worked out with her and were friends with her so it was just a perfect, perfect fit. Yes."

Yarbrough said they informed Allison Bevers she could keep her pig and they plan to surround her with continued support moving forward.

"It really wasn't about the pig! It was about the pig and her,” Yarbrough said.

The Midlothian police department said in a statement how proud they are of Allison Bevers and details are not yet determined how the money raised will be allocated to the investigation.

I'm actually kind of dumb founded, this case hasn't been solved ..
Video footage, yet nothing...................

I think it's because they refuse to consider that it's a female. Missy was reportedly having an affair with a fellow married fitness trainer. What does his wife look like? How tall is she?

Also, they have a description of a car that was parked nearby but no license plate; no surveillance footage of whoever left it there?

I ran across a video about several unsolved mysteries and this was the first one. I don't remember upthread if anyone has mentioned the husband's father. He is pointed out in the video below, and I have to say he's a dead ringer for the height, body type, and posture. What do you think?

I think you're right, the similarity is there but, I would have thought LE had already checked him out ..

You can't just go to Walmart and buy police tactical gear. The only way this is getting solved is to find out who in her circle of people had access or got access to that. I have no doubt in my mind what happened here; who decides "it's 3o'clock on a Monday morning, time to put on my put on my illegally owned (hopefully) police tactical uniform and beat up the church with a hammer"? I say..... some sociopath who's ass-hurt and not some solo church hater that decided to give a church a make-over while playing dress up.

I just hope the victim's daughter isn't living with one of her mother's murderer right now...…..
