Whereas shoplifting would have basically been nothing, now she's charged with aggravated assault and theft.
Roneisha Neeley, 31, is charged with aggravated assault and theft up to $500 in connection with the incident that occurred at the Hartsville Pike store on April 29.
The store manager followed Neeley out of the store around 4:30 p.m. after noticing her purse was full of what appeared to be stolen merchandise, according to an arrest affidavit.
“While she was behind the vehicle, the female suspect put the vehicle in reverse and struck (the manager) on the left hip as she was fleeing the parking lot,” according to the affidavit. “Neeley did not acknowledge or provide any treatment to (the victim) after this incident, but fled from the scene prior to police arrival.”
Police later located Neeley, who was positively identified in a photo lineup by the manager.
Neeley was still being held in the Sumner County Jail on $5,000 bond Tuesday. She is scheduled to appear in Sumner County General Sessions court June 1.
