PARACHUTE, Colo. Arrest affidavits for 29-year-old Matthew Ogden and 41-year-old Phyllis Wyatt reveal that Wyatt claims to have heard "horrific" noises as Ogden viciously beat their four-week-old daughter Sarah.
Matthew Ogden, who is being held with no bond, is alleged by Wyatt to have grabbed the infant and taken her to another room, violently shaking her by the abdomen. Wyatt also says she heard "pounding and thumping noises" coming from the room Ogden and the child were in, and that Ogden was screaming at the infant to "shut the **** up."
Wyatt described the noises as "horrific," but admits that at no time during the attack did she intervene or attempt to stop Ogden.
She goes on to comment - when prompted by an investigator's question - that "her life was better" after the death of her infant daughter.
Wyatt is currently being held on a $300,000 bond and is being charged with child abuse causing death and criminal negligence. Ogden is being charged with first degree murder and two other charges relating to child abuse.
The affidavit also reveals that Wyatt gave birth to fraternal twins - Sarah Ogden and Timothy Ogden - on May 18th 2015. Timothy Ogden's condition and whereabouts are unclear at this time.

Neighbors say the parents were heavy partiers, even right after the death of their child.
"They were out there doing in the courtyard doing lassoing with the ropes and a fake bull,” said Thomas. “They were sitting out there drinking, laughing and having fun. He was talking about the death like it was something really big, they didn't even look depressed.”
They told a neighbor their baby died from nerve damage that she was born with. Others who visited them say neither was fit to be a parent.
"A baby was in the bouncer and they were crying, and he was barely paying attention,” said Thomas. “He just left them there."
Perhaps, the most disturbing detail – Sarah had a fraternal twin. According to Parachute Police, her brother Timothy was found unharmed by police and remains in protective custody with the Garfield County Department of Human Services.
