A foal has died after it was doused with inflammable liquid and set on fire in a field in Derbyshire.

The young horse, which had been named Angus, was attacked in Pinxton while his six-year-old owner Logan Appleby was on holiday with his family.

Kayleigh Appleby, Logan's mother, who called the attack "inhuman", said she was at the animal's side when it died on Thursday morning.

Police are treating it as arson and have appealed for information.

The family only adopted Angus a few weeks ago, after he was rescued from neglect.

Treating it as arson huh? As opposed to the other alternative where the horse caught fire thru some other means, by accident somehow? Who wrote that nonsense!?

Maybe if it had an owner more responsible and capable of caring for it than a fucking SIX year old this wouldn't have happened.

Foal dies after being set on fire
Chief Inspector Cathy Hyde from the RSPCA added: “This was a horrifically cruel attack on a defenceless foal with tragic consequences.

“Foals are naturally inquisitive and trusting and it’s awful that it appears someone has taken advantage of this.

“Attacks like this are extremely rare but understandably local horse owners will be worried and we would suggest they are extra vigilant.

“We would encourage the public to contact the police and groups like Horsewatch to report people acting suspiciously or unusual vehicles visiting fields and yards.”

Angus was in a field off Alexander Terrace near a water treatment plant, along with two other foals and some horses.

Police in Pinxton are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened between the evening of Monday 17 August and Wednesday 19 August.

During the evening of 23 August the field gate at the property was also damaged and the lock smashed.

Anyone who has any information about either incident should ring 101, quoting incident number 231/24/08/15, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

As in they charge the perp with arson, which is a more serious crime than animal cruelty.

Clearly the kids parents own the horse, but bought it for their kid. The horse didn't die because the kid was six.

You're always on about people here being illogical and dense, then you are wilfully ignorant yourself.

And you're good at getting jokes.

See, we can both say something absurdly off base and incorrect! Don't post again, thanks.
maybe you should of put sarcasm somewhere?? as clearly you were being sarcastic so many people dont get it i guess
