don't give up, doll. i think the video was way messed up, no right EVER to shoot a man in the head. welcome? i've not seen you before, but i also don't come around much.

the alcohol bottle plus starting the car made him overreact. is he guilty - hell yes! he was not defending himself. was the other guy trying to speed off? yes. i would've just let him go. two wrongs don't make a right and there's not much right going to come of this minus some enhanced training on DE-ESCALATION techniques for police officers. good grief. america is sick of these racial profiling cases. white people smoke weed too! white people are dead beat dads too (if that is true)! that's so what is going on in ALL of these cases it's disgusting. any ounce of "scared" that officer felt was due to the inequality between us all. on both sides. don't think I've never felt that way either.

my question is: WTF is a university cop doing pulling someone over in what looks like an off-campus area? if this is the UC campus, my god, why does anyone go there?

From PrettyPink's link:

"Although Tensing works for UC and the stop occurred about a half-mile from campus, the university's officers are permitted to patrol in areas where many students live off campus."

A little research will reveal that, unlike many universities, UC is located smack in the middle of a blighted urban area with high crime that spills over onto the campus.

Lol thanks. But yeah UC is a HUGE campus (it's a BITCH walking between classes that's why I changed schools) but the campus pd CAN pull you over. I got pulled over by them once, but I didn't notice they were armed. But whether this was racial or not I definitely think this cop had something to prove. And I'm so passionate about it because this easily could've been me. ESPECIALLY if I had started to have a panic attack

I still love you guys. I'm just having an Olivia Benson moment...You know when she gets too involved? I'm way too invested

There has to be intent to kill for a murder charge to stick. The shooting appears to have been a knee jerk reaction and not intended. That's all I was getting at. I'm not trying to argue with you. I was stating what I've absorbed from years of working in law offices and having a Mom that was one of the most in demand paralegals here in Portland for a couple of decades. I promise I'm not trying to get on your nerves. <3
BG you're one of my favorite ppl here. It would take a LOT for you to get on my nerves.

Thanks! I was getting a little worried there. I feel like crap on toast today and I had to work anyway because I had month end reports to do. Plus this is day two over 100 degrees and we have several more 90+ days to go. It's usually about 84 this time of year. It is highly possible I wasn't being as clear as I thought I was being. And girl, you ALWAYS have me in stitches with what you say! Keep it up!!!
You sound like you need some rest. Why are you up?

Because I am a natural night owl... which sucks donkey balls when you feel like shit... plus it's still too effing hot to sleep. :( FFS it's not supposed to get this hot in Oregon. Most of us don't have AC!
Daaamn I got the air AND the fan on lol. I'm sorry hun

So he was going to run. So what? Tensing already had plate number. He was in NO DANGER.
HE was the one trying to open the door when he had no right. None. Dubose got scared. With the way things are going nowadays, I don't blame him. A black man and a white cop. What are we hearing lately? White cop shoots and kills black man. Hell yeah Dubose tried to run. I KNOW this city. Racist as... I don't know what.
I didn't think I was racist, but I'm a CONDITIONED racists. Cincinnati taught me that. I'm working to change that, but I've got a ways to go.
Anyway, a missing plate doesn't warrant murder. If he ran, get the plate number and run it.
Don't give me the crap cops are scared. They of all people should know that each situation is different.

Don't you dare.
Why is this racial? Because racism is still strong.
It's just that my heart hurts for this "criminal". He hasn't been in any REAL trouble. Yeah he wasted our tax dollars but three words: Paul Brown stadium. Two more words: horseshoe casino. One more word: streetcar. 3, 2, 1. Cincinnati is done

This is why I have panic attacks when I see police.
You know, the panic thing that I have seen on many COPS episodes that people do just when they SEE the cops. Then the cops chase them and basically say if you are innocent of EVERYTHING possible why did you run. Well if my cousin, friend and 30 other people in my neighborhood were killed or were framed or even got what they deserved, I'd probably run too. This shit is getting to a point where Oblama wants total distrust of the cops and racial strife at every turn.

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT the president wanting racial strife. This has been going I since before I ever even heard of an obama. Ppl blame him for EVERYTHING. Well Hell I had a period last month......that got Damn obama.

Eta: Especially in Cincinnati. Jerry Kyle (CPD) for example, would witness fellow officers terrorize black ppl back in the SEVENTIES. And if you told, they threatened your family. I guess that's Obama's fault too?

Racial injustice been going on centuries before obama. If he was the cause of it, then why did we need the civil rights movement back then instead of right now?

My cousin just told me there was a peaceful demonstration in front of the courthouse but a few ppl got arrested. I wonder why tho

Cops need more training.

And stiffer prison sentences.

Come on. The guy who was shot had 75 police incidents over the years. He was uncooperative, broke the law by having no front plate, license or registration. He also had an open liquor container with gawd knows what in it. He was trying to take off.

Yep, seems he was a dirtbag. Not seeing the relevance.

Cops are people too and get scared for their own lives in a split second.

If they can't do the job, they shouldn't strive for and attain employment as one. I again don't understand what your point is supposed to be. We should be forgiving of dipshit cops who slaughter innocent people without just cause cuz they got a bit too chickshit in the heat of the moment?

How about we get fed up with these low-lifes who put their own lives and other's at risk.

Don't see the relevance to this particular case.

Dubose didn't comply and endangered the cop when he put his foot on the accelerator.

Endangered the cop as in he MAY have ran over his foot if the cop was too stupid to get out of the way? Big deal.

If the cop had to initiate a high speed pursuit and some innocent was injured or killed, he'd be demonized for that too.

Good, he should be demonized if that were to happen. High speed chases are dangerous and should only been entered into for good reason, and chasing some asswipe over some minor traffic violations isn't one.

I've actually been to Cincinnati. I stayed at the Marriot Residence Inn. The area immediately surrounding the hotel was nice, as was the Newport, KY area across the river, but the rest of the city was a blight on humanity. It was like Lagos, but cold. A few blocks in the wrong direction and one was surrounded by gang-bangers wearing black shirts, hats etc.... If these slugs riot and burn the place down...I cannot say that there would be any noticeable difference than before. That begs another question...why can't these people actually get upset over a sympathetic victim? All of these cretins killed by police officers were scum. Every fucking one of them. Trayvon...Michael...Eric...Freddie....just disgusting people. Seriously. If you are going to burn a city down, at least do it for someone who wasn't a worthless criminal.

just wanted to put in my two cents, i live in englewood ohio about 25 to 30 minutes from cincinnati and we never go unless we go to a football game, which has been a while. It is pretty dangerous if we ever have to drive through for any reason I make sure our doors our locked!

It's not dangerous like you're making it out to be. Stop it

Well, sure it is. You know, if you fear people with skin darker than yours.
Seriously, though. It's just a racist area. Nothing scary there. Well, except the 120 year old buildings.
