A human torso was found Thursday in an abandoned building being searched by Connecticut police as part of an investigation into the discovery two weeks ago of a pair of severed arms and legs elsewhere in New Haven.

State and local police, using cadaver dogs, began searching two buildings, which share a parking lot, after receiving a tip Wednesday that a homeless victim in the case may have spent time in one of the buildings.

Officer David Hartman said the torso was found Thursday hidden inside the former Salvation Army Family store.

The torso has not been identified, and Hartman said police will not speculate on whether the remains are linked to the other discoveries. The remains have been sent to the state forensic lab for testing.

Hartman said police do not have the final test results on the arms, but have been told by the state forensic experts that they are most likely Roberson's.

He said the homeless community has provided key leads in the investigation. He noted it was a homeless man who led police to the legs, and others who told them where Roberson used to sleep.

What is the Hartford connection? I thought it all happened in New Haven...
it'd be more humorous if it was Hartford lol... Gotta keep in mind; the closer they are to the 'Steve Wilkos' show, the easier it is to abandon their kids so they can get their 5 minutes of fame, and then get back in time to find that their kids killed each other and cut off their limbs and... waaaait a minute :p

Update...

Torso found in New Haven ‘most likely’ belongs to slain city man Ray Roberson

Ray Roberson (54)
NEW HAVEN >> The torso discovered by police in July “most likely” belongs to Ray Roberson, whose dismembered limbs also were found in the city, police said Monday.

The State Police Crime Lab previously had confirmed to local police that the severed legs and arms found on July 15 belonged to Roberson. The state Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection, Division of Scientific Services reported to city police Monday that the torso “is most likely that of Mr. Ray Roberson.”

Roberson, 54, who was known as “Bobo,” was last seen alive on May 20, according to police. He had been known to frequent the abandoned Salvation Army building adjacent to 274 Crown St. , where the torso was found July 29.

Police are treating Roberson’s case as a homicide.

The limbs were found July 15 after a homeless man led police to a pair of severed legs in thick vegetation near the State Street train station. Police shut down part of State Street for hours as they searched the area for clues.

The legs had on socks but no shoes. Hours later, police said they found a human arm in a plastic bag. The arm was found under the Chapel Street Bridge after someone reported a foul smell in the area and notified police.

Police on July 16 said the plastic bag actually contained two arms, which were without hands.

No arrests have been made in connection to Roberson’s death, police said Monday.

Detectives continue to work the case. Roberson’s head and hands have not been located.

Police also have not made clear whether the crime scene where the torso was found is the primary crime scene — where the homicide and/or dismemberment occurred — or a secondary crime scene. The locations where the arms and legs were found likely are secondary scenes.

Police have said they believe the limbs may have been dropped off at these locations and that the homicide and dismemberment occurred elsewhere.

An acquaintance of Roberson’s, David Polek, was arrested one day before the torso was found, on burglary, larceny and criminal trespassing charges. Polek, 46, who also goes by David Andaz, was known as the “alpha dog” of the Salvation Army building at 301 George St. where Roberson was known to have stayed.

Polek remains in custody in lieu of $500,000 bail and will next appear in Superior Court in New Haven Sept. 1. Polek is not being held in relation to the Roberson case, police said in August. He is one of “several people” who have been interviewed by police in relation to the case, Public Information Officer David Hartman said in a July 31 release.

A memorial service for Roberson was held Saturday at Christ Chapel New Testament Church on Dixwell Avenue. More than 200 people came out to honor Roberson, a painter with deep roots in Dixwell.

Mourner Carlton White, who at the service read a poem he wrote for Roberson, said Roberson was homeless because “he chose to be with people like him. It was a choice. He wasn’t judgmental and he didn’t want people to judge him.”

So he yells don't judge me, jumps in front of moving train. Becomes dismembered. His friends pick up his arms and bag em. Maybe left out his hands to turn in to police for identifaction purposes. But you know how the homeless easily lose or misplace things. Then left his parts around town so he could continue living his choice dream of being homeless. Out of their kind hearts. Its all probably just a lil misunderstanding.

And certainly has nothing to do with mexicans. Everyone knows we don't chop. We buy our meat presliced for us.
