'It's every parent's nightmare': Toy aisle paedophile who attacked 75 children over three years and recorded his horrific sex abuse on a GoPro is jailed for 16 years

• He singled out children who were alone in toy aisles at Perth stores
• Peter Anthony Lewsam, 50, has been jailed for more than 16 years
• He pleaded guilty to 120 charges of abuse against 75 young victims

The charges included indecently dealing with children under the age of 13, indecently recording children under 13 and sexual penetration of a child.

Lewsam would lure his female victims, mostly aged between two and six, with lollies and filmed his sex abuse on a mobile phone and a GoPro camera attached to his shoe, the West Australian reported.

Lewsam was arrested after the father of a four-year-old girl interrupted him while he was abusing her. She is the only victim who has been identified.​

Father-of-three Peter Anthony Lewsam somehow went undetected from 2012 until January as he picked on children who had strayed from their parents in K-mart stores in Warwick and Joondalup.

After luring them with lollies, Lewsam abused the young girls while filming the degrading acts on a mobile phone or a GoPro attached to his shoe. There were 78 victims in total — only one of whom could be identified.

Lewsam will not be eligible for release until at least 2029.​
