Wow a real life mystery. I wonder if there was another woman involved. He knew he was not coming back.

Two men have been arrested in dramatic early morning raids over the alleged murder of a Sydney father, more than a year after he was last seen leaving a CBD hotel.

Minh Phouc (Paul) Nguyen was seen exiting the Hilton Hotel in a hire car on May 1 last year and was reported missing by his family a week later.

Tactical police and homicide detectives swooped simultaneously on three homes in Casula, Liverpool and Smithfield at around 6am today.

A 23-year-old Casula man has been charged with murder and a 19-year-old Liverpool man has been charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact.

Police will allege Mr Nguyen, 50 at the time he disappeared, was murdered in a Bankstown unit on or around the day he was last seen alive.

....

Mr Nguyen’s body and car have never been found.

Police believe Mr Nguyen may have been linked to figures involved with drug dealer Jamie Gao, who was shot dead in a Sydney storage unit and dumped in the ocean.

Two former NSW detectives are accused of murdering the 20-year-old student.
