Joseph Karr sentenced to life in prison for stabbing of Kelly Turner

A California man who was found guilty last week of stabbing and killing his girlfriend in Southwest Austin has been sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors said Joseph Frederic Karr, 55, stabbed 43-year-old Kelly Turner at her best friend’s house on Nov. 1, 2014. A witness said he woke up in the middle of the night when he heard Turner screaming and later found Karr pacing back and forth with blood on his shirt, mumbling while holding a knife.
